I think it's time for another plus size hardtail group test
@Dogboy736 жыл бұрын
Can't believe how similar the Norco Fluid is to Norco's Torrent. It's almost the same frame with a different spec. Loving my Torrent 7.1. Bloody awesome. Thought I'd miss full suspension but I can't say I have. Just have to be a bit more mindful of my riding, which I think has turned out to be a good thing. Plus no rear shock service to worry about. Welcome back to hardtail ;-)
@piciu2565 жыл бұрын
A hardtail is a good thing, aspecially when you jump on a FS later, yes jumping is a bit different (have to preload both front and rear) but if you mind the rear end with full suspension you can totally shred ;)

Great vid. guys!!! A couple of bikes that come to mind for a proper test are the new Orange P7 29-er, Stanton Slackline, Ragley BigWig 29-er and the NS Eccentric Cromo 29-er cause I own one! So that would be an all out steel bike test that I would love to see!!!

Not happy with the selection. It's like "let's test a Roscoe over the Stache" . But that's the very beginning, these bikes are just annoyingly poorly specced. From the Recon to the Suntour , couldn't think of a more underwhelming pair of forks. Would love to see some better plus hardtails. I appreciate the effort though. thanks

Hi, I'm planning to get a £1000 cycle scheme bike and this was interesting, I figure there are a lot of other people with the £1000 limit so maybe a similar review at that level would be good. I've got a cube cross pro with 622x44 tyres and 60mm suspension and wanted to get a proper mountain bike, but rather than getting a standard 29inch bike with a bit better suspension, tyres etc I fancied something more different. At £1000 that a bossnut eve, Norco Fluid HT2 or Trek Roscoe 8. With a mix of gravel trails and dirt tracks there'll be times when the tracks are quite muddy, will the plus tyres perform badly enough on mud to be a problem? Might check out the Sonder as I thinks it's reduced to £999
@MBRmagazine6 жыл бұрын
Don't worry, we cater for the £500-£1000 price points with our hardtail of the year test, which will be live in about 8 weeks.

Anyone know where I can get a set of full length mudguards for a plus size bike? I have full length ETC guards on my 26"x2" bike & they work superbly. But my tyres get bogged down in winter mud & I was thinking a fatter 3" tyre will roll over better. But this will be useless if I get covered in mud; I like to go out 2-3 times a week and never get any mud on my clothes with old style mudguards- cannot live without them !

This review is bullshit. I watched this review after I bought my merida big trail 500 and thought fuck it I'll buy some pikes for it after this shit review. Talked to my local bike guy and he told me to run it and see how it goes. Gave it a good push on some down hill today and didnt notice any knocking at all anywhere. This review on the merida big trail 500 is misinformed. Just check all the reviews on the suntour aion fork. I use to think these guys had good information and experience and now I know they dont... also I've been riding hard trails for over 25 years so I know what shit suspension is like.
@MBRmagazine4 жыл бұрын
Have you considered that either a) you got lucky and your fork doesn't have the problem, b) Suntour has subsequently fixed the problem since we tested the bike?
@whowanger4 жыл бұрын
@@MBRmagazine no. Why would I consider that? My bike was the exact same one you tested. I also checked other reviews on the same fork and they were all positive. One said they would be hard to notice the difference between this fork and pikes or 34's. So all I'm saying is this fork is alot better than your review suggests
