Honestly the diet and exercise aspect of this video is completely wrong. Not only do most thin dancers eat normal foods in normal amounts (probably more, actually) but it's also pushing the narrative that plus size dancers don't eat healthy when (speaking as a plus size dancer) that's normally not the case.

As long as you’re flexible & you can hit the same moves as the other ballerinas… why should it matter what size u are ?
@SuperNovaSirius3 жыл бұрын
It doesn't matter. That's the whole point. If you want to dance, do it. Should have to do nothing with other people's opinions. If they like to watch you, they do. If they don't, they don't. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, regardless of what society wants you to accept or not.

The thing is that you can't do the same moves as skinny ballerina being a plus size. As a hobby - absolutely yes! Do it! But you can't make it you profession. That's life. You can't become a pilot if you're blind, you can't become a professional ballet dancer if you're overweight.
@sonjaravengate8 ай бұрын
If you take it professional you just can't physically do the same moves. You will retire early because you will have a ton of knee and other issues. Because of the excess fat your lines won't show in a way that classical ballet requires.

'Why do they have to be so ABNORMALLY THIN'. Sorry, but being 50kg is not 'abnormally thin' on most bodies. Stop body shaming slim people if you want the same respect for the other side.

I think they didn't mean it like that. Ofcouse it is bosyshaming to say someone I too thin. But I think it is very unhealthy if you are like 175 cm and you have to weight 50 kg. That's pretty underweight and cold be unhealthy. But it's definitely also unhealthy to weight to much.

Where are these facts coming from? I’m a dancer, I train full time and I had a childhood and a great diet (we actually have to eat more to maintain fuel and energy) and I know loads of people who aren’t plus size but due to the muscle gained from training, are over 110 pounds- in fact, I’m heading that way if my muscles keep growing! Just mean the boys need to be stronger!😂💪🏽

I agree. The other comments under this post are weird. Having an opinion should have nothing to do with fat people being able to dance or not. They can if they want to. But we don't have to like it, for them to do it. I agree that an excess of body fat ruins the graceful lines I like to see in ballet. That's an aesthetic opinion. I still want this girl to dance. I want her to do what makes her happy. But I also want the right to my own opinion. If she's strong, my opinion should not matter to HER motivation to dance.
