The problem with Nigeria is multidimensional. To suggest that because NDLE officials collect bribe and turn a blind eye is amiss of the underlying absence of verifiable data on people. For example, there is no crime reference data base. Therefore, how can an officer of law access the criminality of a potential traveller? By default, we Nigerians are hypocritical by nature and our country has been systematically designed to facilitate corruption. There is social decadence, where illicit wealth is celebrated.
