The massive noses? I’m guessing it’s to depict Europeans, but it is also kinda the style of Urasawa. He has a very distinctive look for his characters.

Pluto only has 8 episodes. This is the whole show. 8 episodes x 1h = 24 normal length anime episodes. Pluto only has 65 chapters, so it makes sense. Urasawa's other masterpieces such as Monster, 20th Century boys and Billy Bat are significantly longer. Monster also has a good anime adaption, the other 2 are manga only as of now.

The animated Naoki Urasawa manga original is also available on Master Keaton Like PLUTO, Master Keaton is also based on an original story by a different person.
