@ wrong,we all pay into a state pension and have been promised a pension at a certain age,The government keep changing the pension age after having spent the money.Where do you think your state pension comes from?..
@christophergarrett84552 күн бұрын
Also state pensions are taken from your taxes and are based on you national insurance contributions,so when I started I was promised a state pension at 65 and now have to what until I’m 67 saving the government over £13 600 on someone who’s fully paid up
@christophergarrett84552 күн бұрын
The whole point of there campaign is that they weren’t given notice to take action in time.Also try telling the government you don’t want to pay into it so that you can put the money into a private pension,no chance.The government created a scene to pay a pension and after the money has been paid in there moved the goal post.This would not be allowed by any other organisation.Im guessing the younger generation can see that the state pension will not be enough so have time to make further plans.To a lot off the older generation this will be the only pension they get

I lost £47k in pension, was expecting £3k "compensation". It wasnt just the change in SP age - from 60 to 62. When I was 61 that changed to 65 and then 66. It wasn't about just the sudden and poorly communicated change, it was the repeated kicking. And now Labour have put the boot in again.
@SA-ff9uc2 күн бұрын
You didn't lose it though did yeh? Greedy people.
@lat14192 күн бұрын
@SA-ff9uc we did lose an awful amount. Like my best friend who was blind with heart disease and died just 3 months after finally getting her pension aged 66. She has been on disability benefits - and constant hassle from DWP - instead of her pension. Another friend who had to work 6 extra years despite being in agony waiting for NHS surgery, another whose extra 6 years working caused irreparable damage to her joints, or my cousin who died aged 63 with heart cancer with a pile of CVs on her bedside table as she was harassed to look for work while claiming benefits instead of her pension. These are just 3 women in my life and there are millions like us. We did lose a lot - not just in unpaid pension but the loss of any relief in the last years of life, including bring told at age 64 to go and get a "modern apprenticeship" to retrain for the "new jobs market" - and I have a PhD, years at the top of the corporate tree, and wheel chair bound with crippling arthritis. Yes, you fool, we lost lot and your ignoramus comment show you to be just another tiny man, a little misogynist. Or should we call you Kier?

Tony Benn would have annihilated Starmer in any debate where integrity or disingenuity was involved. I honestly believe that if any interviewer pushed and pushed Starmer for an answer in the way Paxman used to do years ago, Starmer would soil his underwear. The man lacks compassion or empathy. I don't believe the usual line of him being a Lawyer and working to scripts and rules. I genuinely believe this man has probably got a high reading on the psycopathy scale. He seems to be detached from rational thinking. Hence the refusal to answer questions. He doesn't listen to the question. He has a pre-rehearsed answer. One more year as PM maximum for this wierdo. Shameful for a Labour government. Good for Diane Abbott in standing up for Waspi women and asking the question. The problem wasn't that women didn't know, but that not enough time was given to allow women to readjust their lives to take account of having to work for an extra 5 years. Some women had already just retired and then were told they wouldn't be receiving their State Pension. Some women were in their late 50s and had planned to retire and didn't have time to adjust. I voted Labour, but I'm getting pretty sick of this government always whining that there is 'no money', and focusing on 'working people', leaving people who are too young or old to work to make the sacrifices. There IS plenty of money - it's in all the bank accounts and investments of wealthy individuals and big corporations that have not been paying their taxes. A Labour government should be much more focused on people's needs.
