Still lots of very small parts to make Jim. Saving the difficult part for last…..the cylinder. Cheers Nobby

Cheers Kev. It’s been very cold in my workshop. Today only 11c. I have a small electric fan heater to take the chill off a bit. A diesel heater would be a bit too big for my workshop. Take care. ATB Nobby

That’s right Stuart. There’s some very small parts to make on this build. It’s fun figuring out how to set them up. Thanks for looking. Cheers Nobby

Cheers Paul. Hope you’re able to see the rest of the build. I’m already a few videos ahead on it. This will help me cover times when it’s too cold to go in the workshop. Take care. ATB Nobby

Nice work Nobby, its really tricky holding small parts and still be able to get the tool in without damaging anything 👍Mark

Thanks Mark. My fixture pallet is proving so useful on this build. I’ve bought another piece of aluminium plate to make a second one. It’s a better grade of aluminium, not a mystery one 😮 Cheers Nobby

You are doing well with the fiddly little parts Nobby 😀 interesting to see your diamond tool I love mine 😀

There certainly are some small parts on this engine Julia. The difficulty with my shop made diamond tool was setting it low enough for centre height on the Myford. I got round this by machining part of the underside of the Dixon tool holder so it sits lower on the tool post. Cheers Nobby

Could do with fixing your camera shutter speed to prevent the annoying flickering that occurs during your videos.

I use a mobile phone to record my videos, and I think it’s sometimes out of sync with the mixed lighting. I have fluorescent and led lighting. It doesn’t seem to happen all the time, but I’ll check if I can change the settings on the phone. Thanks for pointing this out. Cheers Nobby

@nobbysworkshop set the shutter speed to twice the frame rate. For example record at 24 or 25 FPS. Set the shutter speed to 1/50 and you will be good.
