It’s had some scary moments Kev, but I’m really enjoying it. I’m a few weeks ahead on the build, and would like to finish it by Christmas if I can. Cheers Nobby

Another nice one Nobby, those small parts are really challenging to hold 👍👍

There certainly are some challenges Mark, as I find later on, when things go terribly wrong. I’m keeping this in the video to show the problem I had. Thanks for sticking with me Mark. Cheers Nobby

More fiddly parts Nobby you’re getting on really well 😀 that fixture plate is really paying back the time you invested in it 😀

You’re right Julia, the fixture plate has been so useful on this engine build. I’ve just bought another piece of aluminium to make a second one. Need to set aside many hours to drill and tap another 60 odd holes 😢 Take care. Nobby

@nobbysworkshop time to pickup a automatic tapping head 🤣 good luck

Hello Nobby, Nice work there... I really like the fixture plate you used, I really should make one myself... Will you be making a video about making your next one? See you on the next one. Take care. Paul,,
@nobbysworkshop22 күн бұрын
Hi Paul. I may make a video on the second fixture plate, although I did make a video on this one. If you check back on my videos about 9 months ago, you’ll find one on it, and on making the tiny toe clamps. Cheers Nobby

Looking good Nobby. In future I would suggest not machining all off 1 side of a casting to size like you did with the guide bars. Do as you did with parallels under the bosses, but leave 10 thou or so for a cleanup when you flipped it over to drill the holes. The nuts have now to clamp down on a cast area instead of a machined surface. Will also be nice to have driled the oil hole with a center drill to make it easier for the oil can to find the hole, unless of course you are going to make oiling cups. Regards from Australia.

Thanks David. I am going to make some oil cups for the cross head caps. I’ve already made them for the crankshaft bearings. The drawings don’t call for them, but I think they will be a nice addition. Cheers Nobby
