It looks like both Legends games take place around the same time, Mid-1800's ish. Legends Arceus was the Meiji period of Japan when they started industrializing and going from small villages to more industrial centers. France during that time was growing a bit more slowly because the land wasn't very iron-rich, but by the end of the century had cities and architecture that look a lot like those architectural sketches. I've also heard some people theorizing that the game might be set in the past and future/present. The title "Z to A" and the going from an older art style (and aspect ratio) to a modern one points in that direction

Haussmann's renovation of Paris (which established the base of modern urbanism and ducks over the environment and old Paris) and 1889 Paris Exposition (which for it was built the Eiffel tower alongside many things to decorate the city) was all held during the latter half of 1800s. Considering the redevelopment theme of it all (from Old Paris to New Paris) and the start of heavy industrialization (environmental damage coughs guardian of nature coughs), it fits a legends game so perfectly xD.

I have a theory of the fact that they didn't just name it "Pokémon Legends Z", they specifically named it "Pokémon Legends Z-A". As we all know the "Z" is for Zygarde in which everyone was waiting a game for (at least when X and Y first came out), but the "A" in the name may hint at a new legend with the name starting with A starring alongside Zygarde. Pokémon cooked with these games and the feast is scheduled for 2025. I say for all of us that we can't wait to play.

for pokemon Z-A; if you look closely at the A design, it show a little hint of the new legendary may look like. and for when they show us the place in CGI as Pikachu was running and the place is only Lumiose City ground with battle that can be seen on the open area might mean players online can see and playing with eachother throughout the world. That mean they will have a lot more player you can play with. Also, when you look closely of the peoples in the game are mostly trainer that are player might interpret as you are going to play with more the 4 player as I believe that 60% of the population in this game might be players. The architecture of the first buildings gave me Unova and Castelia City vibes, like a game set in the past, before the modern skyscrapers....in retrospect, this design could only be Castelia or Lumious, not of the other cities in any game would fit, Galar's cities are designed too old, medieval cities in modern times. It is interesting that it is the future or post X and Y, maybe the same number of years in our world and timeline as in game time.

Okay, my thoughts reading into this a bit: Soeyue, which is what the unknown spelled, could be an old name for something in Kalos, or perhaps the region itself, kinda like how Hisui was the old name for Sinnoh. Based on the whole "urban redevelopment plan", this seems likely to take place at a transitional period between the old ways we saw in Hisui and modern Pokémon, at a time when the old town (possibly this Soeyue) is getting rebuilt into Lumios. Other potential links that could be inferred is that the name Z-A could also point to the story linking with the immortal Az- which is a distinct possibility given the locale. All in all, a lot to unpack here XD

This reaction is so pure it filled my heart with so much happiness especially as this was my reaction. Ive never played X/Y but for whatever reason it is my favourite video to watch people do playthroughs/challenges in, and I have always loved its general vibe and attention to detail and stunning city design. I feel like this will really excel as a legends game, and will be so interesting to see especially as PLA was less city focused/more open world-y, so it'll be fresh & new to see how they incorporate how Kalos was built up!!

Pokemon legends arceus was based on the Meiji Restoration in Japan, set in the latter half of 1800s, specifically when Japan was colonizing Ezo and turning it to Hokkaido. My theory is that this will be Haussmann's renovation of Paris (established base for modern urbanism & destroy old city & nature) + 1889 Paris Exposition (originates building of the Eiffel tower & many other projects to beautify the city), both being in late 1800s as well and fits perfectly with "redevelopment" (from old Paris to New Paris). The blue BG + white lights may reference blueprints, invented in 1840s & used extensively for reconstruction of Paris. Plus, with the whole heavy industrialization going on, a certain protector of nature might wake up, it fits so well!!! But anyways, this just a theory.

Pokemon X and Y was one of my first Pokemon games. I was literally listening to Kalos and PLA music while doing homework last night 🤯! It feels so good to return to this region I love a lot, along with mega evolving! Kalos was such a great pick, while Unova and Johto are great, Kalos is amazing with its potential with Pokemon Z and megas of course! So glad they aren't rushing it to Holiday 2024 and giving it time. Hopefully they cook and release it in Summer-Winter 2025 ❤!

The way I read Z-A is that Z is the end of the alphabet, and A is the beginning. This reads to me that the game will be about new beginnings after an end, so like a fresh start This has a deeper meaning when you think about Xerneas being about breathing new life, and Yveltal about taking life

That's why it's called Pokemon Legends Z-A because its usually takes place before the original game comes up. The holographic presentation is just a blueprint for redeveloping the urbanize Lumiose City. The key words here we know it's before XY is the "A Vision of beautiful coexistence between people and Pokemon..." means that there are still conflict with the relationship if pokemon and humans. Modern eras are now getting along with pokemon but here it's to coexist. Also not a coincidence that they choose Kalos after Paldea because Paldea is a representation of Spain so it's near France which Kalos is based on. I hope that with the new Legends game, that it brings back all of the old megas, plus new ones. I hope it explores more of AZ's backstory/mega evolution/Zygarde. It also would be cool if their was a way we could re-play the original story of X/Y, as the switch can do so much for this gen. I also think they will announce a Let's go for gen 2, as well a new Gen 5 remake later this year.

So Couple Things... We didn't see any Gen 7,8, or 9 pokemon. We saw Gyarados, Khangaskan, Pinsir, Onix and Dragonair for Gen 1, Heracross for Gen 2, Absol for Gen 3, Hippopotas for Gen 4, Lilligant and Krookodile for Gen 5, and obviously Gen 6. This likely means, because PLA only had Gens 1-4, that PLZA will have only Gens 1-6, with a possible exception made for starters (Oshowatt and Rowlet proove this). 2.) The Talonflame at the beginning of the trailer is a Fletchling at the end. This is Z to A. It's a reversal. This suggests that maybe we start in a semi-modern Kalos, and go back in time to prevent something bad from happening? It can't be the ultimate weapon firing (can it?)... they'll use this event to explain why whatever new pokemon they introduce (maybe including new megas) are extinct now. 3.) Given that most of the Pokemon in the trailer have Megas already, (Khangaskan, Absol, Onix (Steelix), Gyarados, Heracross and Pinsir) some of the other Pokemon featured are likely to receive them. While a find Mega Sylveon unlikely, because it means that the other 7 will get them... Aegislash, Krookodile, Lilligant, and Talonflame seem like some good candidates given the lack of Gen 5 and Gen 6 megas in the XY/ORAS games. Also, give the Gen 6 Starters their Mega Forms already... they are litteraly a decade overdue.

Also, Hippowdon. Given Hippopotas was the only Gen 4 pokemon shown off. And we saw Hawlucha too, so tack him on... and Dragonite as well.

I feel like the Z-A game will take place in between the great war in that world and when the X and Y games take place. It'll be set right after and I feel like the character would help redevelop after the end of the war while also dealing with some other things as well. I could be wrong but it seems like a very big possibility.

Kalos was actually my serious introduction into Pokémon - back as a kid when I started watching the Anime, Kalos was where I began, besides a few Cartoon Network episodes of Unova. So seeing this… it’s amazing. I can’t wait to play. But for the love of Arkoos please don’t let this be a buggy, glitch filled mess. Make it like Legends Arceus: glorious and amazing.
