Short Video about the Fuel Jettison Procedure in the PMDG 747-400.
Tips and Instructions are only to be used for the Flight Simulator on your PC! It should go without saying that I am only flying a PC Simulator, not a real aircraft. My videos therefore are not intended as professional instruction! And my videos do not show SOP ( Standard Operating Procedure) of any distinct airline.

Thanks for another informative video. Luckily So far there hasn't been the need for me to jettison on B777 nor B747, but surely will keep these advice in my head if one day things don't go that smoothly in flight.

Another interesting video! great! I have question about the "ground" consequences of fuel jettison: Are the pilots questioned for reason for jettison? (I guess that jettison in not normal situations and this has to be reported, hasnt it?)

Hi. The pilots would probably be required to file an official report with the countries aviation authority.

Great video sir. What's the max alt for the Jettison procedure? Can I do this at say FL410?

+Randy Chance ... the only limit I have found is that you have to be above 5000 ft. So I would say that it is possible at FL410, if ATC has approved that.

Hi Black Box i Love ur Vids, i was wondering if yoy would know what is the Minimum Landing Fuel for a 747... i know that you have to have at least a certain amount of fuel when landing.

+PJ The DJ ... well, you should never land below final reserve fuel (approx 5 tons, to keep it simple) which means 30 minutes remaining flight time. At the destination you should arrive with around one hour remaining flighttime (not talking about legal requirements here) which is approx 10 tons.

Louis Rossol yes he did fly the 747 if I remember correctly about 6000 hours on the 747

I have indeed collected over 6000 hours on the 747-400, although it was 10 years ago when I stopped flying the "Queen".
