👋 a few reminder points from our preview livestream the other day: 1. It's only releasing via PMDG Operations Centre NOT via Marketplace yet 2. It isn't immediately available for Xbox because of the above 3. It won't be added to the DC-6 as it stands currently 4. It'll be included in the 777 on release in the near future

@@frap9965 oh door control yeah.....I sort of figured it would at least have what every other EFB offers on release. I mean I get it - for it to be available on XBOX they had to jump through hoops until the SDK was finally made to work and I get that. But, payload and fuel, doors, ground equipment along with charts and perf calc are sort of the basics. It's nice for what it is, but yeah.

It only load Simbrief flight plane and put in FMS and then load the value. For the perf calculation we dont need it. L ike the map and metar for departure and destionation. That's it :D

Glad to see the tool being *finally* released, though I'm a bit disappointed that it doesn't feature any UI for ground handling. Its omission is not a huge issue per se, but considering most other EFBs handle it no problem, and this one took a laughably long time to be released, it's a bit comical that it's something that may come as a later update.

Ground handling would have been nice - but for me anyways, I use GSX - so hoping GSX does an app for this! The glaring omission to me is the fuel and payload loading. You still gotta do that through the EFB, which isn't a huge issue, but would have been nice and probably my only "complaint" atm.

I always use GSX so don't need it in a tablet though they said they'll be adding a lot of the FMS features into the tablet - hopefully it'll come in future as one of those features

Some good EFB calculation features. But importing route to the FMC is the same as today in drawing in the RTE file

I mean i do understand using RTE files. But still, PMDG being a study level addon, i think it's more genuine to insert the flight manually. However i only stopped using RTE files because i hated the fact that you had to load it into the files and then you restart the flight. It super sucks imo.

So the plane may be study level but the EFB certainly isn’t. No OFP fuel readout load from Simbrief, to my mind, is very poor. Given the lead time, I was expecting this to do EVERYTHING.

Thanks for the tutorial, I have a question; why the N1 value calculated by the UFT is different from the one calculated from FMC once inserted the same parameters (Sel Temp, TO rate etc.)? And wich is the correct one?

@@BritishAvgeek in your video, at 15:53 the calculated N1 on UFT shows 96.02, but at 16:03 on the CDU with same temp and TO rate it shows 96.8...

@@BritishAvgeekIn my case I found the culpript, the difference is due to the Air Conditioning set to ON on the UFT (I used to leave it on), it calculate a little derate caused by the bleed used by packs. the FMC does not have the option to tell him, or at least I didn't found it, so it gives you the maximum N1 for the situation, but calculated with packs off. If I set A/C OFF on the UFT, the N1 value matches exactly with the one on FMC.

I had issues getting Simbrief connected, it took 10 mins of trial and error for it to finally connect so I'm wondering did anyone else have an issue connecting to their Simbrief profile?

you should be able to update your version via the PMDG Operations Centre to get the latest version if you haven't already - assuming you bought it direct from PMDG which I hope you did

Thank you for the great review as always. It's just disappointing seeing the end result after all this time in development. The interface is really basic and outdated, just looks ugly in my opinion, and the functionality is lacking. The promise of future apps doesn't really overcome the fact that this is very underperforming at launch after all the hype it had. I still love the aircraft and will continue to fly it but I really hope the 777 launches with a much better EFB/UFT.

@@QazmeHabunot even close, vision jet has Navigraph if you consider that close enough, lvfr has an efb with more functions than this. Now I’m not saying that one is better than the pmdg but it definitely has more functionality. There isn’t one thing on the pmdg tablet that lvfr doesn’t (although I will say pmdg does it better). Just flights tablet which is one Xbox for their warrior, archer, and bae 146 is far far better than this in every way. It’s got way more functionality and it does what you would expect a good efb to do in the sim. I’m not saying that pmdg is bad, but they certainly aren’t “groundbreaking and one of a kind” in the Xbox world of efb’s

@@sean1388 That's from an addon that was enabled by the same thing that enables the tablet, and thats in the GPS which WT built into the engine.....not an efb. So yeah...and any EFB currently in the sim does ZERO communication outside the sim. PMDG will be the only one that can do that on XBOX. I never said the PMDG is almighty - but people acting like all the other EFBs/tablet can or do offer what PMDG claims there is, isn't paying attention. As a side note - georeferencing isn't outside communication - that's literally just coordinates system which is inside the sim as well, it's how waypoints work... From streams today it looks like plane #2 that will be Xbox ready WITH OUTSIDE communication from the sim will be the FSR500 which has navigraph in it's tablet and will release this week and in a couple of weeks with v1.1 to Xbox users! Exciting times.

Fenix A320: Hit mic and EFB is magically gone. Hit it again an "poof" there it is again. PMDG 737: Go into FMC > Options > Airplane > Equipment > Page 16 and select on or off. 🤦

The Fenix EFB isn't even an EFB really. It has the functions of an EFB but it's a much wider scope than that, there's an EFB within the UFT which is why they've been specific about it being a UFT instead.
