Having had this amp in blond tolex for over 6 months and recorded and gigged with it live, I can thoroughly recommend it. This video shows the basic tones pretty well. It has stunning cleans and the best digital reverb I have ever come across. As a pedal platform I don't think there is anything better out there. I have never come come across an amp that colours your guitar so little but still adds a touch of magic!. Blackstar absolutely did the right thing here and fitted the 6L6 tubes. Lots of headroom but super touch sensitive and very dynamic. The 'V' type speakers also compliment it perfectly to my surprise. I did try my vintage greenbacks and v30's just for reference but hand on heart these 'v' types work so much better. I have been very impressed and would highly recommend it. I also have a Artisan 15 and 30, both great and amps i love but not as good as this as a pedal platform by far!. Try one.

Late to this party. Just to throw in my .02c. I also have a Blonde Artist 30. Had it two or three years now. Lose track of time. It's stock. Fabulous cleans. Concur100% re your comment as a pedal platform. Just a well thought through in the design state amp that works IRL.

Excellent video. You played a wide range of musical styles. Fantastic playing, and the SG sounded great on the amp.

Yeah man, that SG caught my ear too. Sounds cool.

This is the best demo of this amp I've seen. Best audio by far. I don't know why... but there isn't a lot of info about this amp anywhere on the web. More for the Artist 15 but not the 30. The BS channel has several videos about it but the mic audio isn't the greatest. Guess I'm going to pull the trigger on one soon.

Clean channel sounds nice. Channel 2 is barely into crunch territory, let alone rock lead or high gain. They should have put some more gain stages in.

Is there any SG's with a bit more sustain? If so, i'm gonna buy the 30 and an SG that sustains longer. Maybe the new HP models with the titanium nut
@PMTVUK7 жыл бұрын
We would definitely recommend the HP SG for that extra sustain, check it out here: www.pmtonline.co.uk/gibson-sg-standard-hp-2017-in-heritage-cherry

How does the volume on the clean channel compare with a Hot Rod Deluxe? I'm after something with a fair amount of clean headroom to compete with a 20 piece bid band.

I can tell ya, that this amp is awesome and has much more to offer. Nothing against the video because it would take a long while to showcase this amplifier. It has so many different tonalities. You can swing it clean with major headroom or get down and dirty. No its not for the bubblegummers shredding noise but for gigging musicians who want solid fat tone, this is the amp. I personally replaced the stock Ruby power tubes for a pair of KT66's. I tell ya, it went straight to the boutique spectrum. Nothing wrong with the originals but I was tuning it according to my own expectations and style which means strong thick tone with super fat abilities. The ISF pot allows an entirely new method of tweeking and it works marvelously. It will definitely turn heads. This amp is one of the most unique amps Ive owned in the 25 years that I have performed. I would choose it over the Legendary Vox AC30. I am an original artist but I cover everything from Black Sabbath and Gov't Mule to Mad Dogs and Englishmen and even country music with this amp and it performs perfectly. Stick a Wampler Euphoria in front of it and you can even reach into the Grunge.

Would you say it sounds higher gain than it does here? Here it’s very light. I’m not into compressed high gain but I have the studio 10 and it’s not considered high gain either, get it can distort and get pretty great distortion tones, much more than I see here. I wish it was a bit louder though . I was thinking of this amp yet the distortion is rather tame

Instead of showing a title like Clean Channel 1 - why don't you show the setup itself with a close up?

Anyone tried cooking the dirty channel with an additional tube preamp? I love the dirty sound on this but it's twang at best... could I run something like a klemt echolette m40 into it or do I risk it going kaboom? Great amp btw. And at high volumes channel 2 can get nice and hot but unless you're gigging you will need pedals

Came for the amp- stayed for the SG...
@timothyjay20128 жыл бұрын
So i noticed that you used the pedals to get all your overdrive. So the amp has no overdrive or useable gain to speak of? Thanks.
@musicalgear10246 жыл бұрын
Wrong answer. It will get dirty if thats what you want. But its more in the range of Gov't Mule, ZZ Top, AC/DC type tone. For the bubblegum pop shredding, you would want a Line 6 or maybe an Orange or Marshall. Really this amp is perfect for working, gigging Artists.
