I've been a victim of bullying because I'm different. Not physically, but mentally. I've told many people this when I go to a new school. It usually doesn't have a good effect.. I've been an outcast to society, and after a few years I thought of running away, I attempted to. But what made me turn back were the few friends I have who were different like me, a group of friends who stood beside me and backed me up even when I was bullied. A brony, an anime adict, a bisexual girl, a nerd, a rebel, and a tech junkie. We all stood together as one because we all were different, but yet the same as each other. When I discovered this song... I cried because it made see that it's okay to be different, it's okay to be who I am... And thanks to this song, I'm who I am. Everytime I'm bullied I play this song and I smile because it send me the message that I'm okay and I'll be who I want to be.... #GreatToBeDifferent

+Lyra's Little crew of oc's and fursonas i feel for you i have the same thing but then not mentally im bullied for fun i have tons of friends who comes up for me but my old school i had not many friends but alot of enemies they bullied me cus im weak and i cry alot cus i am a emotional kid and also bully me cus im muslim i tried to fight back but i end up with a bloody nose a black eye and wounds one day i started training to learn self defense and it worked i was anable to fight off the bullies even with a few of my best friends on my side my best friend dylano kicked a bully in the stomach really hard because the bully was threatining me and i wasn't anable to do anything cus he was way stronger than me i sweared alot even with cancer and im really sorry for saying that but i can't control myself when i get mad i fight everyone i can fight weak or strong big or tiny i managed to kick a kid with my head that he fell really hard on the window (he was standing there) the teachers tried to stop me but i resisted and attacked... kicking slapping i never wanted to give up and now im here.. today alot of friends there are still some bullies and kids that think they are cool and shit but my friends help me by punching them in the stomach i did that to someone that was bullying me but atleast life gets better i think i can finally accomplish alot of stuff and it feels great to be myself #GreatToBeDifferent

Specially I remember that someone threw a small glass pipe at me and a fragment went in my foot (I was wearing sandals). I cringe now as ones who bullied me at school are still my classmates and unlike back then, friends (one of them even jokes that he is my brother). But from elementary, most of my memories are from being bullied. Even worse, when I had a chance, I bullied someone. I felt superior to him, but I didn't like it.

I'm different because I have autism and I'm proud of it, I have trouble explaining things, trouble with spelling, have a habit, etc. When I got through hard times in high school, Someone suggest me to the series and it really change me. I really thank for MLP: FIM to learn allot about friendship, deal with bully and bad things it happens in real life. And I'm so glad that I'm a pegisisters. :) Also, I can totally relate lot to Derpy because she very nice pony who try so hard from her mistake through her disability like I been through. +Adamguy2003 same I am on the autism spectrum to I don't have trouble spelling and I am home school so I don't know your guy's pain but I get very childish at times and I struggle with social cues. I like MLP because I relate to pinkie pie and rainbow dash. It is super cool to see other people being proud of their autism. instead of seeing it as a weight to slow you down, you can use it to your advantage. For example I get really into projects and things that I enjoy so I helped out my local drama team with script writing for a play they were putting on.

To think, I first heard this song in the beginnings of my pony days. When I learned about this fandom, and this song, helped me so much. First time i listened to this and watched it i cried, i have Asperger syndrome, and we didn't find out till i was 13. I always got in trouble for things i didn't understand, when i learnt it wasn't my fault, it hurt a whole lot more. This video was my introduction to this fandom, and looking back on it after Gen4 ended, I think I might cry. This show and community means so much to me. I was 9 or 10 when I first saw this, and by then I didn't really have a mind of my own. I was just doing what everyone told me to do. I wish I took the message of this song to heart the first time I saw it because it really would have helped me in the long run. School was the only thing that mattered to me back then because everyone told me to do well in school, so I did. Eventually in 8th grade, that mindset finally ran it's course and I was freed after a year long, stress filled project. I wasn't happy in 8th grade nor in the following summer, but I think I kept this song and the community in the back of my head. I had to figure out who I really was. I eventually got back into the fandom (and more into music but that's a different story) and I started realizing who I was all along. I wanted to help people by making entertainment, and I wanted to be myself while I did it. This community has done so much for me, and none of it wouldn't have happened without this video. Thank you everypony for your dedication to this community. It's great to be different

I had a friend, named Delaney. I used to think MLP FiM was a kid's show. For toddlers. I was eight at the time I knew her. She was my sister, Chloë's, friend. They were both ten at the time. One day when we were at Delaney's house, she introduced us to generation four of MLP. Luna Eclipsed and Canterlot Wedding remain my favorite episodes. Because Delaney said, "But before I show you the first episode I gotta show you these two". Without Delaney, I would've NEVER been a Pegasister. I would've never started a channel. But most of all I wouldn't be here. There is so many things in my life that happened all because of MLP. But... Delaney moved. Because her parent's divorce. We have no idea where she is now. No way of contacting her. She was separated from her brother twin, who Chloë still knows. All I have to remember her by is a drawing and a stuffed animal. She did a drawing of my O.C, named Inkie. Who was supposed to be a relative of Pinkie Pie. She looked very similar, but also different. To this day Inkie is my main O.C and always will be. The stuffed animal, is something she put together with felt, thread, and hot glue. Sure it looks a little jacked up but I love it. I love it so much and I'd never give it away for anything. It's a stuffed animal of Nyx. Nyx remains my favorite fan-made MLP character. Okay, I love this song and all, but what's with everyone saying it's sad? It's about learning to love yourself, not despite your flaws, but WITH your flaws. There isn't anything sad about that. That's exactly what I did, I was so happy, I was crying. This song relates to me, feeling alone and not accept who I am or how I look. It can just be very to accepting myself to become a shining star. If Derpy was real, I know she would help.

It really is great to be different. For me, not just loving MLP: FiM, but other things as well. For instances, I love classical music and oldies. I also like old movies and wearing double breasted suits rather than the more common single breasted ones. I don't care if people think I'm peculiar. I'm proud of who I am! I was thirteen when I had first heard this song my family had always treated me as if I was different and I thought for the longest time I was broken and didn’t deserve to exist. One dark and stormy night I was home alone and I’ve always been terrified of storms and heard this song I was bawling in my room realizing that I was gonna be ok for the first time in my life. I’m 18 now and am livin out on my own and feel at peace thanks to this song.

I think this song is amazing and exactly why Derpy is soooooo great and loved by the fandom so much , because she reminds people with physical or invisible disabilities (such as lazy eye or A.D.H.D) that being different didn't mean that you were strange or less able, but that your just a special star in a galaxy of stars who are all plane and the same.

This video makes me who I am. I'm teased (I won't say bullied because it doesn't get that far.) for the stuff I do. This song reminds me to be who I am. People are stuck trying to fit in and hide what they really are. High School is a big place, a lot of people don't accept who you are. It takes a lot of courage to look and tell yourself that you can be who you are and show it. One person in the school tries to show me up all the time and tells me I'm bad at sports, it always doesn't end up him winning. He makes himself stupid. I would talk about the show and notice someone tell me that I do understand that this show is for girls. I give them a lecture saying just because a show is for someone other than me, doesn't mean I can't like and watch it. People need to understand that they're are people in the world that are different and need to accept them.
