The PMX (Parachute Madam X) is a great hopper and stonefly dry fly imitation. The PMX is the Parachute version of the traditional Madam X. The PMX is easier to see, floats higher and has a more life like look picky trout. The PMX can be tied in many different colors, with Yellow, Red, Olive and Orange being the most popular. The PMX is a fairly difficult dry fly to tie, and takes some time to master. The many materials tend to often get in the way and can be frustrating to deal with. Using a strip of lead wire to wrap around and tame these materials helps.

Thread: Black UNI 6/0
Tail: Deer Hair or Elk Hair
Body: Red UNI Single Strand Floss
Wing: Deer Hair or Elk Hair
Thorax: Peacock Herl
Legs: Natural Medium Grizzly Barred Rubber Legs
Wing Post: White McFlylon
Hackle: Grizzly or Brown Whiting High and Dry Rooster Cape

Well this is the most complex fly I've attempted so far and it went fairly well. My rubber legs ended up being swept back but it'll probably still catch fish. That lead wire trick is great!

This is a great fly and a very well done video. I use another fly by Doug Swisher called the Spekl-X which is by far one of the best flies on the water. Would love for you to do a video of that one.
