I developed a pneumomediastinum from covid and a bipap machine alog with my asthma. The first hospital really mistreated me and put me on the bipap for 6 hours. I developed a pneumothorax couple days later. I was already in another hospital where they knew what they were doing. The thoracic team really treated me well. It was subcutaneous emphysema as well

I had a spontaneous pneumothorax this last December and had large bore chest tube for one week. I tried running for the first time last week and had 10/10 pain after about 100 meters and bubbling feeling when breathing and bubble seems to “echo” my heartbeat sometimes.

I have sound comes from my throat like crushing sound and shortness of breath and heart racing from time to time . I did an x-ray and they found nothing. Sometimes the symptoms disappear and then come back.I did not receive any treatment for this until now. I have been suffering from this for almost 2 years

interstitial will be more net-like and reticular and alveolar is more fluffy and cloud-like. In reality, most patients will have some combination though. Thx for watching.

My dad is in the hospital with complications from covid. He was never intubated. They are telling me that he has a pneumomediastinum and they aren’t sure what’s causing it. Would you be interested in looking at his radiographs and giving me your interpretation?

Hi Doctor, is pneumomediastinum goes with time from the lunges.

It depends on the cause. If the cause is from bleb rupture, it will go away on its own. If it from a hole in the esophagus, it needs treatment.

Depends on the cause. Did your doctor say how it got there?

Good question. Pneumopericardium will not extend up to the superior mediastinum or into the neck. It will just be confined to the area around the heart.

I'm not sure but it probably depends on the reason why pneumomediastinum was there in the first place.

Hi doctor, I vomitted a couple of weeks ago, and I am diagnosed with pneumomediastinum. They said in the hospital I might have had a very small rupture in my esophagus and that it healed by itself. They saw on a scan, that I had loose air around my lungs and heartsac. It should go away by itself they say. But we are a month later and I still have chestpain when I breath in deeply. What should I do? Desperate..

Check in with your doctor if you're still having symptoms. You can get another CXR to see if the pneumomediastinum is gone.

I think what you are referring to are the lung apices. They look dark and round bc they are outlined by bones which are white.
