I was diagnosed with Lung Sarcoidosis back in 2001. I was sick and just associated it with seasonal allergies and getting older. 32 yrs old. Until one night I coughed up blood. ER MD said it was nothing but throat irritation. My Primary called the next day and wanted to see me ASAP. He thought it was 90% lung cancer. Sent me to a specialist right away that thought the same thing. After numerous tests, CTScan, PET Scan, etc a third specialist did a biopsy and diagnosed me. I have been in remission since 2003 and still have nodules. My left lung has a calcified nodual the size of a golf ball. Been active, breathing fine and living with it for 24 years(+). I always say go for that second, third opinion.always advocate for yourself.

You're right, probably a better term is peripheral rather than subpleural.

I have had a solitary pulmonary nodule for 15 years. I went through 2 years of CT scans regularly and was finally cleared.

Thank you very much! How to distinguish a lymph node from a nodulus on CT?
@cindyj55225 күн бұрын
I have a bunch of these and no one has ever discussed the source of them. They monitor annually via LT CT but have never diagnosed a cause.

I jave had 2 lung nodulas. I 1.5 cm the other half a cm. Went to beck in December for mri. The smaller one is gone. The other is too close to my heart to do biopsy. But it has not grown. I see a pulmonary doctor every 3 months. Now with one gone I see her in 4 months. I quit smoking, but my husband still smokes in the car with me. Wish he would stop that, but he is hooked for life. I'm 69 yo, and my doctor said since it has not grown, it may have to be fungus. I was also in a house fire and black mold infection from Hurricane Debbie. Praying it goes well in 4 months. Then maybe i can switch to every 6 months etc...here by the grace if God

A terrifying thing to read in a hospital letter. I take everything on the internet with a grain of salt and recommend people stay away from the google rabbit hole as they'll terrify and confuse themselves almost in equal measure. Always speak to your specialist as soon as you can so THEY can explain what's written in the report. However, I want to say thank you for this upload as I soaked up all the words of calm and comfort I could find. I confess that right now that's all I was looking for. Thank you.

I worked as a medical assistant in a pulmonary clinic for 10 years. I still learned a lot from you! My brother passed away from lung cancer 5 years ago. He didn't have any insurance, so he let it go! He died at age 52. Thank you , great presentation!

@ThoracicRadiology17 күн бұрын
There's no central place for them. Just have to do a Google search. Keep them around for reference once you find them. One I always refer to is Leukemic involvement in the Thorax from 2019
