3:10 I've seen them too! on Radios back in the 70s 80s but.. also on radio controlled' Tamiya cars back in the same time. They call them a 'Tamiya connector' I call it a 'DC power connector' :-D Anyway I'll UN-pause and enjoy the rest on the video 👍🏻

Ive got a PNI Escort 6500... Still un molested and sealed, in the van It does between 3w and 4w depending on which meter I use. The recieve is awsome. Ive had nothing but good reports, so Ive no intesion on breaking the seal. I currently use a 35 year old Chinesium modulator or a Valor Halfbreed. There is no difference, they both work well. Auto squelch is a god send when mobile. I set it and leave it. If you dont break the auto squelch we wont be talking. Im not going to concentrate on listening to you rather than driving.

How about a K40 antenna as well.

I haven't got one. Are they still making them or is it the new offerings are a cheap copy? I did have one as a boot lip mount in 1982 until someone nicked it. I worked well enough but I fet the secret of good performance was in the top quality coax it came with. I replaced it with a drilled-in Throughbread Half Breed & didn't notice any loss of performance. Richard

50 mV is S9 on CB Radios 😉
@ukfmcbradioservicingTango21 Жыл бұрын
In the UK 100uV is the normal for S9, though 50mV is an acceptable limit. Richard, G0OJF, UK

That's a terrible way of changing bands, it means you must use the original mic 🤦
