So, is the plan to put 644 back in as-delivered appearance? Will it wear phase I?
@rosenrotsonne16 жыл бұрын
The motor is not DLMX 644. It is NRMX 644. It stands for Northwest Rail Museum. The X means that it is privately owned. It was normally at Brooklyn yard, until the PNWR leased it.

Great seeing this giant. Wish it still had its Amtrak SL4T or P5a horn and the original bell. I always enjoyed watching SDP40fs hauling Amtrak trains back in the late 1970s.
@AlexTrain52497 жыл бұрын
There are only three things missing from it currently: A Leslie SL-4T and Amtrak Phase 1 paint and a running 16-645E3.

Nice vid, at least that unit is still running!
@cnwlover13 жыл бұрын
@4449steam It's not the original horn. Amtrak SDP40F's used Leslie RS4TR's I believe.

I know, "that unit" meaning it's good to see THAT ENGINE running

@ma7799 No, Amtrak would have had an SL4T on it. BNSF put that horn on.

This is the last surviving SDP40F and SDF40-2 left in Existence. Amtrak SDP40F is a beauty in it's Scheme.

Now that I take a second look at it I think your right.

They had RS3L's on them, no telling if they switched it to a K3 before BNSF came along or not.

It's interesting how at the first crossing the top set of lights don't flash. A broken relay perhaps?

DLMX #644 in service. Helping out on Portland and Western Railroad. This was nice. DLMX #644 is still around just not in Oregon due to the 2013 vandalism incident in Portland. Its at NSRM of Boulder City and is once again operational as DYRX #6976.

This loco is powered. And it will also lose the Maersk paint and the gross-ugly ATSF gouges in the nose as it was acquired for restoration back to Amtrak 644 as it is the only surviving example of its kind. The same gentleman that saved Amtrak F40PHR 231 saved this one...working for the P&W was part of paying for the cosmetic restoration needed. But it is not just a "cab car"...it's a full 3000 HP locomotive just as God, Amtrak, and EMD intended.

@UberNoobtard that's right down on front street by the mission thrift store. I had to do some community service at the thrift store warehouse and would go out and watch this train whenever it passed (we were allowed to take breaks whenever we wanted).
