Clever clever clever!!!! Thanks for unlocking yet another “mode” for my PO-33! Add to that basic lesson in chords and you’ve made the PO-33 make sense to me as a musical device beyond just a sampler ! Coooooooool. I don’t have a Piano but I have a software piano I can sample :)

I'm so glad you keep doing videos using the classic and simple gear you started out with such as the POs. That really helps with my GAS, as creativity with what I already have is what I need to stay grounded -- not buying new gear that I THINK will help make me a better musician/song maker. Learning new and creative ways to use the gear you own is key to making and finishing tunes. Thanks again for not abandoning the basics!

I love using my PO-33 as an audio sketch pad. I’ll load a few sounds and screw around to see what I come up with. Then I pull out my monster (MPC Live2) and make the composition. This thing is SO fun.

An easy way to sample any instrument that requires two hands to play is to prerecord the instrument with microphone into a hand-held recording device (or into a computer or smartphone), then send the prerecording over cable connection into the PO-33/PO-133 where it is captured as sample.
@FreeBeat2 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah absolutely, it's just not that easy when I only have the PO-33 on me hahaha.

I really liked this one, using the Sub would have really filled that spectrum but sampling is probably the single most important thing to know as an electronic musician! Nice job! Peace, your probably sick of my fascination of the Sub, so I apologize. Lol

I actually almost brought the sub, but I decided I wanted everything to come from the 33. (But then I cheated and used the 32 too lol)

I am trying to emulate how you use the banks to sample. When you sample the tonic, did you use bank 1-4 for the drums? I thought 1 and 2 was already assinged for the piano chords, and 4 for your thumb click

Piano and guitar is one of the touchy sounds to sample. The brilliance and definition of the pressed or plucked notes get lost once you start messing with the notes on the P.O. If you sample the sounds and chords in the drum slots, it doesn't lose alot of its "originality" when you switch between octaves or pitches in the scale. I find pianos and guitars sound kinda toyish when you play with the pitch and scale on the melody section. Good video. It sounds good, very informative and helpful!
@FreeBeat2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the full definition of the strings is completely messed up by the 33, but I sort of love it haha. Thanks for watching!
