Your videos are honestly very helpful and I can appreciate the effort put into all of this. Thank you for your contribution to the betterment of our lives. However, if I may, can you showcase some more questions where you would have to do different mathematical workings in order to solve them such as questions that will ask find the capital or use the LIFO method to solve this or that etc please? I have been getting alot of issues with those type MCQs so I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi! That’s a good question, thanks for asking it 😊 Remember the separate entity/business entity concept says that the accounts of the owner and the accounts of the business must be kept separate. This is because the business is considered as a separate legal/accounting entity from the owner. So you are correct when you say that the owner’s assets are increasing but that requires removal of assets from the business. So the business’ assets are decreasing while the owner’s personal assets are increasing but the owner’s personal assets and the business’ assets are not the same thing; they are separate and apart from each other. So I like to give acronyms to the double entries....So it's L.I.C,C.I.C and A.I.D so the opposite is true.

I use these with my classes too! Technically you only need one - AID - because once you understand that liabilities "are the opposite of assets" you will know the rules for liabilities too, and if you understand the accounting equation (A = L + C) you can remember that capital follows the same rules as liabilities! Nice :D

Hi Sir, for question 31 I'm confused on why we credit rent revenue. I thought revenue is credited when its increases and debited when increases.... and in the question he removed 10000 from the rent revenue account since he deposited said money to the bank

Hi, the money isn’t being removed from Rent Revenue. It’s being credited because the rent is being EARNED. So we credit where the revenue is coming from (rent revenue) and we debit to record the receipt of the $

The purpose of a balance sheet is to show the assets, liabilities and capital of an entity at a given point in time. Assets are resources, and the money to buy them must come from somewhere. There are two main sources: the owner (via capital/equity), and creditors (via liabilities). Hope this helps.
