I had far too much fun putting that together! Also completely caught off guard by the Zivkovic bid. Literally had spent so much energy scouting/preparing for the other two 🤦

@@mustermannfm it's never fun, I feel you are better placed to replace him though than others. I too have been burnt many times before by a random bid for a key player that comes out of the blue. Cheeky buggers.
@mustermannfm9 ай бұрын
@@FMlestri we're certainly in a good position. Let's be fair - we could probably play our remaining games with just 10 players and still win the league. And UCL isn't on the cards, so no worries there either. So by loaning Tzolis, I've saved some cash for whoever my replacement is. To probably carve the squad apart and sink them to the peripheries of title challenges.

@@mustermannfm If the Bremen job is available, would you bring any of the squad over?
@mustermannfm9 ай бұрын
@@FMlestri I expect Bremen's finances won't extend to me bringing in Konstantelias. He's the one I'd want to take everywhere. And, in this instance, he'd be a good fit as they seem to lack final-third creativity. Liagas and Tsaousis are still low-valued, so they might be more realistic. Squad players that buy into the system. Mustermann's Remi Garde.

Story-telling is where I think FM's charm really lies. When you look back at old saves, it's the stories that you remember. Winning the league on the last day after 3 seasons of finishing runners up. Signing that player that no-one had heard of who went on to become a club legend. And so on...

I’ve completed changed the way I play the game mostly because of your videos and playstyle. I love the statistical approach and find it so interesting. I’ve even started to dip my toe into tableau and creating my own spreadsheets and tables for recruitment. The biggest challenge I have is finding what stats I should be looking for and the combination that gives me the best information. I feel like you’re the best in the community to ask this question too. What stats should I be looking at to decide if my tactic is not working or if it is the players underperforming. I’ve been using the clear chance ratio based on my formation but don’t know if it is the optical stat to look for. Thanks for the incredible content. Best FM KZbinr and look forward to the videos
@mustermannfm9 ай бұрын
All of them 😂 Joking aside, if you're looking to diagnose an issue, you will benefit from trying to take information from everywhere. The last Moneyball Clinic video should help in this regard. Though I only show the bits that are interesting, I went through ever team stat to identify what we are doing as a team, and whether these are in lines with my expectations or not. Sometimes there are things that you don't expect, but you are happy with. Sometimes that are things you do expect, but are unhappy with. Generally speaking, though, use that as a starting point to identify where you need to explore further. You might need to watch back some games. Or at the least check out whether statistical output is consistent regardless of who plays in a role (generally a sign that it's tactical rather than personnel). Try and work backwards to the source. For example: You might have good pass completion, but a relatively low average possession. That could be a couple of things. Maybe you are good in possession, but not so good at winning it back off the opposition. Or it might be that your passing is good, but you regularly attempt low-success-chance actions (such as crossing or dribbling). Let's say it's the former, and you utilise a mid or high block with more pressing. This means your press is ineffective. If your pressing players have high pressures attempted, then they are doing their part, and you need to look at your deeper players who should then be sweeping up loose balls. This could be a tactical issue - your rest defence might be poorly structured. Or this could be personnel - players are missing interceptions. You'll probably need highlights for this. If your pressing players have low pressures attempted, then it's definitely a personnel issue.

Awesome, thanks so much. That makes sense. This is why I love playing the game like this. I’m excited to get into the numbers and to try and figure things out. Playing like this has made me enjoy numbers and stats so much.

Since you said you are a browns fan Who do you think they should draft?
@mustermannfm9 ай бұрын
Honestly, I haven't looked into it much. We don't pick until the latter half of the second round, and it's so difficult to assess what's going to happen. Maybe we end up with a JOK situation where a player unexpectedly falls into our laps. Generally speaking though, I don't rate Ford nor do I want Hines getting many rushing snaps, so I'd be keen for us to pick up a RB as insurance to Chubb. Realistically, after the 3rd round you're happy if the players turn out to be career backups/rotational pieces; so as long as we don't draft a kicker early, I'm happy to see what happens and cross fingers we find an unexpected diamond.
