@@jamessanderson5068 yes that is bad. First off those birds were bought and paid for by the landowner and released. Secondly how do you think your illegal presence makes the landowners feel? Some poachers have taken shots at farmers, destroyed their property. They've no idea who you are or what you're intentions are, that is terrifying. So yes your actions are that bad even if you don't intend it to be. Just stop being so lazy and keep asking around for permission till you find someone willing. That's what my SO does.

FB, I think you should do more to promote legal lurcher work on the channel. Reporting like this can give those not in the know the impression that everyone out at night with lurcher and lamp is breaking the law, and that is not true.

I'd start by looking at the volunteers hard drives never mind the lads running a dog in a dark field. Dirty trick fields sports channel showing the dog hitting something running then the big " we don't know if the dog survived" shame on you your no better than antis accidents happen in all forms of dog work. One day when shooting is banned you'll be in the same boat as us and be forced to break the law or give up doing what you love. I'd say it's a sight better than shooting fox for sport with night sights a child could do that. Don't know why I bothered attending your march's all them years ago you shooters soon throw us under the bus.

I am a dog man as we are called, I have full permission wherever I go with my dogs, my dogs get the best care and the best food there is but no matter how hard we try and no matter how many laws we follow as soon as you tell someone you have lurchers or you go lamping they automatically assume your a poacher, which isn’t fair, you can NOT paint us all with the same brush, atleast know the full truth before labelling us. And yes I understand there’s people out there that will be thinking that rabbits and rats have a right to live and or it’s cruel etc but the animal is dispatched very quickly and cleanly and also if we didn’t do what we do then they would breed like well RABBITS and that’s not good, they cost the British farming industry 100’s of millions a year in damages to crops etc. if you are doing everything right then you shouldn’t be judged because at the end of the day we ain’t doing out illegal or wrong.

So the police show a willing for one night, big deal. What about the remainder ? Relying on locals who have no powers of the law and maybe risk a good battering if they approach the wrong types "which a majority of the time they are" just goes to prove how under Policed our country is. And those anti poacher concrete barriers are rubbish, we have them around where I live and they either drive over the top of them or they pull down the fence and drive around them. Let's face it majority of vehicles they use are either stolen, have no tax or mot and ready for the scrap yard.
