Very good review. The only thing I would add, and this is because I am a Mode 1 flyer (throttle on the right stick), is that the transmitter can easily be switched into Mode 1 (the default being Mode 2, throttle on the left stick.) The transmitter is held the opposite way up when in Mode 1. That means the lanyard connector will be on the top right rather than the bottom left. To put it into Mode 1, simply push down on the throttle stick, as though you were trying to push it into the body of the transmitter, then turn the transmitter on. The only down side is that you will have to do this every time you turn on the transmitter.

Laurie Clark Your right, I should have said something about that in the review, it is another amazing feature about this quad rotor that you can actually switch it from mode one to mode 2.

It's now $18.26. I however have bought five of them when they were $15. Mine has an extremely sensitive throttle response but if you can fly it inside the house you can fly anything. Gave one to my daughters and they learned to fly it. It is extremely sturdy.

I have this one and it's my go to backpack micro. It flies surprisingly well for it's size. The controller sticks aren't so great, but I took off the button sticks and super glued some standoffs in their place. A good mod. ;-)

Hoping someone can shed some light into this. I bought this quadcopter as my first. For some reason it fails to take off vertically up. It always banks to the left as soon as it takes off. I've tried resetting both the transmitter and copter to no avail. Tried to fly in mode 1 but it still banks left.. any ideas on how this can be fixed? The trimmer buttons don't do Jack as far as I can see.. did I get a faulty copter? the blades aren't visibly damaged as well..

R/C 101 it just arrived, and it flies wonderfully :D. but it seems that the return function doesn't really work, or i might just not understand how it works XD. It just flies in a random direction for me it seems.

Them calling it a return function is really a misnomer. It is basically just automatically turning on headless mode and pulling back on the stick. If you set the headless mode properly with the nose of the helicopter facing forward, and you are flying in front of yourself and press down the return button all it really does is moves the helicopter backwards towards the pilot, it doesn't affect left or right motion it just brings the aircraft roughly towards the pilot.

What exactly is headless mode?

mrarivv0007 When you turn headless mode on, whichever way the aircraft is facing becomes forward so when you press forward on the control stick the aircraft will travel in that direction no matter which way the nose of the aircraft is facing. it comes in really handy if the aircraft is to far away for you to tell which way it is facing and you need to fly it back to you. It is a good example of how precise the gyro inside the aircraft is.

***** - I'm too lazy to learn 4 channels since I just have a bit of fun with choppers.. so I'm used to 3 channel controls.. and when you use 3 channel controls.. the logical next step with 4 channel is to use mode 4.. but it doesn't fly in mode 4 lol.

+Siberius Wolf You can pick up 4 channel mode 2 flight in less then a week with one of these quads, and you'll find that you can be more lazy when you learn 4 channels because you don't have to go pick up your aircraft after crashing as much. More control equals less crashes.

+MrNoisyBoyGaming It's pretty resilient and should handle shipping without a problem. Of course like anything there is a chance it can be broken during shipping but that goes for just about everything. Mine made it from China without a problem.

Hey R/C 101, you mentioned that the on-button return and the headless mode are "kinda nice" features to have, but that I'm not gonna use them "too terribly often" I wondered why? Isn't it WAY easier to fly? I currently have the cheerson cx10 and like it quite a bit, but I am missing the headless mode there...

SkynSand It's just that the gyro isn't really nice enough to pull of a consistent headless mode flight for long periods of time without needing to be reset. The cheerson CX10A uses a much nicer gyro and can pull off headless mode flight a little better.

I just received my FQ777 and I have a hard time trimming the copter any suggestions? This is the first copter I've ever owned so I believe the fault is my own. I have crashed the thing so many times I have broken the guards. It just will not fly stable.

William L Thanks for the reply but I am not able to even hover. She just flies to the right immediately as the copter becomes airborne. If I want to fly level I have to move the right lever to the left just to fly at all. I guess I am good if I just want to fly right... may have junked one of the motors.

Tim Rindels I just received my syma X5C-1 a night and day difference. I figured out how to hover and trim with ease...in fact I can fly my X5C with just the trim buttons in my living-room. Yep junked one of my motors on the FQ with my numerous crashes.

The little red light should turn on while it's charging and turn green or off when charged.
