I bought this little nano on a whim a little while ago off of banggood as I had some money to spare and didn't expect much of it. Man was I wrong! This thing is a clone of the CX-10 however they changed many things including the TX. For about the same price (like $0.70 more) I do recommend this over the CX-10! Just wanted to say thank you. Your video was realy usefull for me, in deciding which beginner-quad to get. I got the pocket drone yesterday, it´s a little bit hard to fly with the original controler-sticks, so I crafted some extentions and now it´s much easier to control ... it´s my first quad and today I´m already doing flips funnels and circuits in the living room! just got mine, it actually came with both the thumb and the longer sticks for pinch control. and the external usb charging cable is really great option to have, charged within 15 mins as compare to the 30 mins on the controller. thumbs up :)

Have you had any issues charging with the yellow cable? I have tried the one it came with and one I already had. I use a USB power bank that always shuts off when done, but not with this copter, for some reason. I never know when it is done. I tried twice yesterday. Second time, it stayed on but wasn't actually charging it. The controller charger works great, but I know the batteries are going to get killed. This thing flies like a dream. Even with everything off, super short flights. It is awesome, though!

The RCAddict Well, I have tried two different yellow cables. I think neither is seating correctly in the charging bay. They barely go in or stay in. I am trying again with the USB connected to a power outlet, versus power bank. Ironically, the charger on the controller fits perfectly.

I bought mine from Aliexpress and it come with a extra set of sticks that you can switch out. The extra sticks are more of the type of stick you find on most controllers. I've only had mine for a couple days so I would say they're adding them now.

its really great, if you find one prop slower and not flying well ,take it of and clean it its probablysome hairs wrapped round shaft, its been to the bottom of my pool and still works!. The high rate mode (left stick push in when paired and gives 2 bleeps) really is fast and manouverable, ive crashed and bent props but bent them bakc cleaned it and it keeps going..i did buy 3 for spares but not needed yet. They can improve these with a slightly bigger battery I think ...buy theyll come Not used prop guards as wont go back in transmitter holder. Try it at with no wind at night outside and give it full throttle, and can see the leds getting tiny ...wow

enjoyed your vid Ive bought 3 of these and am pleasantly surprised ot how well it flies. You do have longer sticks in the pack of props inside the back compartement (well I have) mine has actaully been at the bottom of the pool but got it on had ligts still on and let it dry out in the sun and its fine! so must be waterproof! but dont try it! will do a video great flying outside at night using lights for orientation, how do you get it to do flips? have read instructions many times

+Eckhard Koehler Hmm, not really sure if they are sold separately for it, however if you look on eBay and such, you can get sticks that are meant for the Proto-X or CX-10 which fit :)

Hi, RCaddict thanks for this review. I just received mine and as I never used a mini-drone before, I have a lot of difficulties to make it fly without crashing especially in narrow areas as on your video. Could you please tell me how you calibrate it and how you you can make it "static fly" without using the controller as in your video ? Thanks and sorry for my poor english.

+The RCAddict Hey man, I've got it! The package a bit creased, but that doesn't matter. What an awsome lill' thing! I really like this one as my first quad! A few things I noticed: I had trouble starting the thing as for the manual has a wrong switch on procedure: not first switch on controller, but first the quad. :-) Also got the stick extensions, the wrist strap is useless for me. don't have huge hands and arms, but can only put 4 fingers through it. LOL What I couldn't find in the manual is switching between two speeds. I learned by searching and in your vid that I shoud press the left stick once or twice. I still have to try that and the return home function. I love this gadget! ^_^

Tha Justice The RTH is worthless. It uses headless mode to basially pull back on the stick. which will be the wrong direction if it has not been calibrated within the last 30 seconds.

Great Vid. I bought 2 and we are having much fun with them. The one q i have is how does one replace the blades? I really just want to take 'em off and clean around for hair that is binding them up, but am not sure how they come off. thanks!

+Paul Stover Thanks Paul! The props just pull straight off. You can either just use your fingers, but you might bend them, so I use pliers or tweezers and grab the inner hub.

About the concave sticks, you should get some Sugru and it's this really good adhesive putty that dries after a few hours and it is very grippy and strong when dried. Just check out their website.

The RCAddict It seems like one of the motors came loose or broke partially, because it still spins but its real loose to the point where you could move it around with your fingers. Didnt feel like soldering/replacing it so I just left it. The other motors are fine. It will ascend then just crash and burn real quick. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the broke motor. On the other hand if I fly it with a prop guard its somewhat manageable. It will ascend and move how its supposed to, its just kinda shaky and rattly, but it seems like you had mentioned that that also happens in the cx-10 as well. I'm thinking with the CX-10 I have coming in it should be a little better experience, as I'm a better pilot now and should be able to control it better. I'm hoping its the red board. Its coming from Banggood.The CX-10A was my first quad and after that I ended up getting a H8 mini and pretty much learned on that. The H8 too me seems way more sensitive then the CX-10, but I enjoy/enjoyed every minute of it. From the H8 I deviated towards that XS 1.1. Stuff like that seems to be down my alley. I'm used to the sensitivity of the H8 mini, so I'm thinking the Cheerson might feel like a toy to me, but I wanted another one in my arsenal anyway. This just looks too cool to pass up, and it seems to fly nice. Still kinda debating on that Skydreamer, but if one of those other Yifei yaws like that XS1.1, which it seems like model phantom r x 5.1 almost looks like its maybe a big brother, then I might have to grab that one first.

freestilesteve The Xs1.1 is like the H8, Fast yaw and pitch. Be careful about the Jumpbo. I went to buy one at the crazt $15 price but shipping it $35 making it $50 overall! I am disappointed in gearbest but the box must be very large.

The RCAddict Yeah that shipping price is a lil high. They have a $35 standard shipping, but if you dont choose that one, it shows $11.00 as the subtotal shipping price, and with after insurance ( I always get insurance on these things which is usually like a $1.10 or something for me in the U.S., and after the $1.99 tracking fee checkout in my shopping cart was like $27.31 or something, which aint too bad, although it would be better with free shipping. From what I take from Frequent Flyers review is that the box is really big, he actually says its alot bigger then it needs to be. Theres also a question on gearbest where someone asks if/why the shipping aint free, and they responded with the answer that the box is too big, so I think it has to do with the size of the box it comes in. I might still get the one FF tried( prob same color, or the green), and I might even chance the white one as well. They say there the same model, btu the white looks a little different then the green and blue one.

Nice review thanks. I just got mine and in the instructions it says3D eversions, that you have too push a switch on the back, is this just a print mistake? Like this very much, only con is that you have too switch on the TX to charge the Quad, this is a extra drain on the battery's, was no need too do that

Ruudy L They mean flips by that. I did about 15-25 flights with mine and never had to recharge my tx batteries. They seem to last a long time. Keep in mind you are only draining 100 or so mAh. Wait till you see the JXD 502 I just got. Makes this look big and slow ;D

One question, I have this drone and for some reason, when I charge it through the transmitter using the cable extender, the drone does NOT work even after it says it is finished charging... It gives flashing LEDs, indicating the battery is low even though it is actually at full charge... When I use the USB it works perfectly though... Any thoughts?

I know this an old post but I've been looking for a way to fix my nephews fq777-124. It got tangle in his cousin hair and we had to remove the props to get it out. We put the props back on in the correct orientation (A-B-A-B) with the same letter being diagonal of the respective other, but the nano drifts slightly above the floor and very hard into the blue lights. I'm thinking the motors are not generating enough power on that side. any thoughts?

It is a keyed connector, which means it can only be inserted one way, so you probably have it upside down.

Nice review! I'm guessing it may depend on where you live and fly sometimes because I saw Quadcopter 101 fly this and say it has awesome range and now you show here, it seems to have good range but I can't even get a Morning Fix out of mine! Before it reaches the end of the alleyway it's out of range and flies up in the air or straight into the bushes off to the side! If you live or fly out in the desert or in a less dense populated area it's OK but in the concrete jungle where there are row homes where everyone has WiFi and close by businesses, the protocol or signal on this thing is too loose! Indoors even, I couldn't make it from my dinning room to the front door! Lol

Frequent Flyer RC Mine was not getting good range when I first got it but I charged my batteries in the TX and flew outback like in the review and got like 20-40M which is good for a nano. Sucks that yours loses signal :/ What batteries are in your TX? I thought wifi was a different band so it did not affect it?

The RCAddict Wifi interference is notorious with 2.4ghz... I will try fresh batteries to see but still, the pitch I see doesn't compare to my CX-10.. Yaw is good though. Might pit it against the Lu La Nano :P

Hey can you explain me what you said about headless mode? It doesn't work?

Headless mode means if you pull back on the stick, it will always come back towards you, no matter which way the front it facing. This is worthless though, as you could just not use yaw, and headless mode gets off and it will most likley fly away from you.

Dylan Jensen Sorry but I do not think that will work. They really need to be soldered. They will just fall off in flight with vibrations. On eBay they sell cheap soldering kits for like $15 which is what I use :)

Maybe try recalibrating the accelerometer? It might be faulty though :/

Just to let you know, somehow I fix my quad. I disassembly it and glued all the crack on the frame and put everything back on then it fly again :)

Please help! I just bought one, and it got here today. I was flying it around, and it crashed from around 5 feet, and it hit the tile floor. Now one of the propellers feels stiff and it won't spin! I don't know what to do. Can anyone help?

Try pulling the prop off and putting it back on? It sounds like you have a "stiff" motor, which is pretty hard to fix on a nano motor, as you have to tap the top of the can to loosen it.

I can't tell you the numbers any more, but just place a prop on the shaft very lightly (so it will turn, but not all the way on) then spin it quick and see which way it turns. The leading edge (the side that would hit your finger first if you stuck it in there) should be the "higher" up side, and the trailing edge should be the lower one :)

Hi, I bought one of these few weeks ago but it was faulty took it back. I just got one from ebay and when I try to go up it goes to the side every time. Iv tried the syncing it by holding both controls to the bottom right and also bottom left and it does not change. It just goes forward every time. I really like these things but I have notbeen able to fly it properly yet its really pissing me off big time. Please help guys cheers big ears.

It was unclipped at one end when I opened the box.Clipped it back in but the chip thing in the middle looked slightly bent or warped and it had come unclipped again and I didn't know so must have been making it unbalanced. First one I bought the charger failed,got refund and now this one so im getting refunded again. I think ill leave this to the kids or prop better off buying a more expensive one but I don't want the same things happening big waste of my time lol

+ELFYHO Not too sure as it depends how far you discharge it, and what voltage you leave it sit at. I would say like 100 flights though maybe, that it pretty much a guess. I have never had any battery like this go out, but you need t treat them correctly :)

Dylan Jensen Oh, I am not doing a video on that but here are the steps. First take off the legs or guard and then the props. Then undo the 4 screws underneath and the 4 clips o each motor pod. They the shell just comes apart and there might be more screws on the board, if not just pull it out to get access to the battery. I am not sure if this one has a plug or is soldered to the boar. The motors for sure are directly soldered. Just make sure to put the positive and negative wires back on the same spots :)

Dylan Jensen Yeah, I think so also. BG sells this with 5 spare batteries (kind of pointless since you would have to take the whole thing apart) but they have plugs on them.

PLEASE HELP - I just bought 3. 2 of them flew initially (about 1 minute) 1 never did. They ALL will try to take off with much power, but will only tip up on its side. All motors run quick and nice, but wont take off anymore. I tried resetting according to the directions and also by reversing the order of turning on the quad and controller. Cant figure it out. Please help if you can. I want to surprise my kids with these. THANKS!!!

It means which ever way you spin it, it will work like the back it still towards you, but on cheap ones it doesn't work correctly, so don't bother with it.

Finn Thielke I was the same way on my first purchase from them. Until my last order (a BNF JJ-1000) everything from them got here in 2 weeks. It has been a month now for my JJ-1000 :( I use the H8C transmitter too and it gives it a nice yaw, 4 rates. and flip button :D
