I am so excited to release this video to you all! This is a brand new jig cabinet for my new Armor Tool Pocket Screw Jig. This gives me more storage, a tighter retention on the jig mount, more surface area with measurements and stop block T-tracks. I am super stoked to put this to use and also build another drawer for storing it. There is also an easter egg storage compartment for all my accessories to drill and screw. This way nothing is lost and everything is kept in 1 place! I hope you all enjoy this and thank you for subscribing to my channel.

Hey guys, this is an upgrade to my first cabinet and now has more storage for a brand new jig. Even if you don’t have this jig you can easily alter the height measurements to fit yours. All my plans are in a pdf format and are easy to follow. Thank You!!!

Have you had any alignment issues with pocket hole bores? I just bought one of these after watching another youtubers video. The first one I received had a fairly prominent canter to the pocket hole sleeve (ie one sides edge was sticking out about 2mm) The manufacturer immediately shipped a replacement, but the 2nd to arrive also had this same defect about 0.5mm. Both of these units do not get side by side pocket holes bores to line up. My assumption is that mould used in production either has a defect or has worn out and not embedding the metal components properly into the plastic/resin mould. I went to the local HD and popped open a kreg and their unit is flush and level between plastic casing and metal bore sleeve components. Just wondering if I'm unlucky or if others are experiencing the same
@rhwoodshop

I just checked my sleeves and they are spot on within .003 inches. Maybe it’s possible they have fixed the mold issue and they are newer production models are fixed.

@@rhwoodshop Cool. I may have to do some more test, but just to confirm we are talking about the same area... Im referring to the front face where the drill bit exits from the metal and starts making contact with the wood. Not the removable sleeve for adjust dual hole spacing.thx again for updating.
@rhwoodshop
@rhwoodshop 4 жыл бұрын
tellMeSomething iDontKnow yes, exactly. I measured from the top where the drillbit goes in to the top of the sleeve where the bit exits at the bottom.
@MerchantNation
@MerchantNation 4 жыл бұрын
@@rhwoodshopnot quite the same as what I was describing. However, i assume if you measured that u would have noticed if the top ridge was protruding. Hard to described, but mine was if you look at the top horizontal edge, from left to right, one side is protruding farther far the plastic housing than the other. So, technically, the metal housing was fully seated and sits at a pitch from left to right. So diff from what you described, but i would think that it would be noticeable if you had a similar issue. I must just be double unlucky to get two for two. Thx again

Felix from Nebraska yeah about 90% of my planning went into the sketch up model but there were a couple of things that I changed in the process because I realize that it wasn’t going to work the way I had envisioned. The pocket holes were one of them. I actually had pocket holes going up and down on the sides but I did not realize that I wasn’t going to be able to have access to them after the middle divider was put into place along with the tops. So I had to remove the pocket screws there and the notch out on the middle divider was another change.

I have followed you for quite some time. I absolutely love your SketchUp videos and have commented on them already because they are the best tutorials I have found so far. I was intrigued by this project because it was both practical and has an awesome look. That led me to do more research on the Armor Tool Auto-Jig. I wanted to say thanks for the great idea on the pocket hole cabinet, but moreover , for showing the Auto-Jig. I bought one a few weeks ago and was finally able to do my very first pocket hole project. So far it has turned out great and I love the Auto-Jig. It made things so much easier and I am way more confident now as I start to prepare for building cabinets and workstations in my garage. Please keep the videos coming. Drew, great video again. For those who are on a tight budget and have the Kreg K4 Armor sales a bracket and an adjustable clamp to convert the K4 with their adjustable clamp. Also, most of the plywood sold at big box stores is 23/32 and 15/32 but I usually use a micrometer to see its actual thickness. As always I really enjoy the videos you produce.

Rock-n H Woodshop thanks for building it. Only question I’ve got, (& even the one thing I don’t like about this tool); does the pocket hole jig come out to be able to use as standalone jig, like on the Kreg K5 (even old K4)? Cuz that would be cool, but mine doesn’t & wondering if “just doesn’t” or I’m doing something wrong, lol

Seems like Armor will not allow to remove driver holes to make some fix or repairs. I am going to star with pocket holes. Not sure if I would need this function very often, but wonder which would be the best investent for long time.

That's a pretty awesome cabinet. How does the Armor system compare to the Kreg in terms of total cost (screws, etc.) and are they compatible if you have a bung of Kreg screws? (I assume yes, other than having to figure out the length)
@rhwoodshop
@rhwoodshop 4 жыл бұрын
I believe the armor tool jig is right around $179 but it comes with 350 screws that are all color-coded. If you have a bunch of Kreg screws that is OK because they are still all the same length. Armor Tool has a variety of sizes from 1 inch all the way up to 2 inch in course and fine thread. (1, 1 1/4, 1 1/2, 2) One of the big things though that make it very special is it takes all the guesswork out of using a jig like that.

I hate it for you, you have a great channel. It seems to me the algorithm that is being used is set up for maximum commercial exposure and fewer viewers so that they do not have to pay you for your content. Common sense says fewer views = less payout to content creators. However if they charge more for adds they can off set the fewer views. This is the same reasoning as carbon credits! 😫🛫

Over time when you cut it close to size then recut to exact size your costing yourself and the cutomer alot of man hours. You must learn to be good enough or make a jig that make your cut perfect evertime cause if every cut is cut twice your losing alot. If you charge the cutomers over 10 1mil dollara for all the work you did you could have made two million dollars. Two cut is the most costly mistake you could ever make in the carpentey business. Trust in yourself a little more guy. You shouldn't have to cut every board twice just to get to the right measurements. "The famous rule measure twice cut once." Not cut measure once cut twice. Your costing yourself so much time and money but cutting twice.
