CJ always like a touch of inside, while over aiming the pocket line towards the point. This also helps to slow the cue down after contact into the rail. So it's not running around the table crazy with English, so to speak. unless, of course you need the cue to run around for shape.

I do not understand the statement, at 11:10 you refer to a 4 to 6 weight as speed of the shot. I haven't heard of "weight" as a measurement of speed. Please explain. Thanks.

It's a common term amongst teachers and pro players. When shooting length ways on a table, each Half table is 1 weight. So a perfect "LAG" shot is about a 4 weight. 10 weight is about the max, and would mean your cue ball should do 5 table lengths to be a 10 weight. Most pool shots are between a 4-6 weight. Make sense?

I learned from my roommate who was a math teacher. "Angle of inflection = Angle of deflection". He had a pool table and that's how I picked it up. I later learned you have to also have to compensate for the diameter of the cue ball. Even knowing this is half the battle, you actually have to cue the ball correctly even though you know where to hit. That part takes reps and table time. I'm not much for the ghost ball method however, I visualize based on distance and imagine the ball rolling to the point in real time if I have to focus on a shot.

But that is the ghost ball method, as you just described. Lol You pick your line (based on real time visualization of contact point) That's ghost ball aiming baby. You can call it something else if you want, but ultimately you are envisioning the line based on where cb needs to make contact at ob. Also on banks/kicks There's more factors than: Angle of Incidence = Angle of Reflection There's also friction as ball comes off rails, especially on wider angles. Friction decreases angle. And different types of cloths are definitely more grippy than others. That's why on most banks, you need to go 1/3 of a diamond over on your measured incidence/reflection Trackline.....ir you will always be just short. Of course, speed and spin also make a huge difference, but that's a whole nother discussion. 😁
