My tip for POs is always have 1 blank pattern for a intro/break when chaining them together.

That's a great piece of advice! Super useful when trying to end a track, especially when recording. Thanks for watching!

Before I bought my first P.O. I thought they were stupid toys not worth the price. I currently have 4 of them and I'm still tempted to buy more :) Their limited and at the same time dedicated functions are their charm. You can quickly create something that will serve as a jingle for a small game, intro on YT or will be an input phrase for further processing. And of course, any DAW with a bundle of free VSTs will probably produce better sound, but it's all about fun, portability, and speed of creation. Besides, even if you get bored, you can always sell it and get most of your money back. That's why I recommend having them at least for a while.

This is one of the coolest videos I've seen on Pocket Operators yet! A few months ago I bought a PO 35, because it looked cool with the voice synthesizer, and I thought I could get creative with it. Don't have any other P.O.'s, but they have always interested me. Anyway, I've watched a lot of videos, and in eight minutes I picked up more good and valuable information/tips than I have in watching much longer videos. You present good and practical information in a clear, concise, and easy to understand manner. And I appreciate that. Too often I follow along and then................get lost! This was really helpful. Thank you!!

I went basic and got the P.O. 12. Not the latest model but less of a learning curve and dirt cheap in U.K. stores (£52} then P.O. 14 sub is on the list, thats even cheaper!

Love you stuff, If I have not asked, can you do one where you alter their sound and properly run them through fx pedals or other gadgets...perhaps to get a metal sound, rock n roll...Yah!
@FreeBeat
@FreeBeat 3 жыл бұрын
Haha I can possibly try that, it seems pretty open ended though! I plan on picking up a few guitar pedals, I'll definitely make a video running the pocket operators through those. Thanks for watching!

Is there a way to see parameters of a programmed step? I can usually figure out the sound bank, but have no idea about its parameters (tone, timbre, sustain, triple hit, glide etc.)

Do you have a sample pack for the Office?? Like a drum kit, since (and correct me if I’m wrong) the tones are borrowed from the Arcade/Robot...specifically a drum kit that’d be op-z compatible
@FreeBeat
@FreeBeat 3 жыл бұрын
The PO-24 is actually made up of all of its own samples :) It's all recordings of legit 1980's office equipment lol. I don't have a "kit" of it, but I did import a few of the sounds into my Roland TD-17 drum module for use with my electric drum set. I used them in a drum solo during the "In Over my Head" live show!

Can you please let me know how to increase the volume. I can barely hear anything despite connecting it to an output.
@FreeBeat

Hold down the "bpm" button and press buttons 1-16 to increase the volume. I recommend anywhere between 12-14

Any tips for syncing multiple POs? I've been trying to get them synced well, but I'm having some volume issues. Do I need to adjust their volume individually before syncing? I have been ending up with one sounding much louder than the others
@wiggesobk
@wiggesobk 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah if you put the Volume up on the first po in your chain than the other po's are getting louder as well. So you have to ajust the Volume on each one individually. I've bought a little Mixer named Dude (from the company: Bastl) and a Sync Splitter from the Company: Tindy. So you sync all po's and ajust the volume on the mixer. But it's not the cheapest Option. It costs around 120€ (Mixer and Sync splitter).
@FreeBeat
@FreeBeat 3 жыл бұрын
What Wigges said basically haha. The syncing won't really affect your volumes, so just start at the master and go one by one through your chain, setting each one to your liking!

Have you adjusted the volume? Hold "BPM" and try pressing pads 12-16 for a much louder volume.
