As an experienced sewer I wouldn’t recommend anyone sewing over a pin or paper clip EVER. It can be dangerous with bits of flying metal and it can damage your machine if you hit the metal. You are very wise to avoid this Tracie. A lot of paper crafters have cheaper machines which are less robust than others. Thank you for the video.

An interesting video on the fussy cutting machines. I particularly liked your comments on paper. Having worked in offices for years I used to think paper was just something you bought based on what weight you wanted. But when I started creating cards and printing my drawings I realised how wrong I was. It's good to see you highlighting the importance of trying out different textures, finishes, and media types as well as weight. It was hard at first to be spending more on paper but now I do test runs on cheap copy paper before using the quality paper and it makes so much difference. I'm also a fan of Epson, and Pinnacle brand which I get from Paper Spectrum. Oh, and paperclips are really great!

Hi Tracie, I have an Epson EcoTank and when I use my Cricut print n cut with my iMac I can’t change my paper type either, but …. I have found a way to change the settings when I’m using my iPad! I can also do the same with my phone. 😊 Good to see you back and loving the little paper clip pockets ❤

It is much easier to use my Mac and I think for smaller ite,s using the default is fine but I will try the iPad if I need larger cuts. Thank you so much for the tip. X

This is a fabulous video for me!! I have a newer scan n cut that I have yet to use to cut paper. You have inspired me to get the darn thing down and have a play. I also just got an eco tank for Christmas that I am having a blast experimenting with different paper. Epson Presentation paper was my fav and go-to for my old canon printer and I have found the settings I like for use with the eco tank. I have used 102 and 192 gsm paper and love them, I did not know they also had 265 gsm!! I will be looking for that. And the paper clips look fun, I will be trying those out as well. Thanks for a fantastic video.

In cricut, you can choice your paper. When it says "Send to Printer" you have the screen that says "Bleed" and "System dialog". Click on System dialog and then you can choice your paper, which cassette and everything normally. I have the Epson echo tank and I use cricut print and cut all the time.
@debbiewall123 Жыл бұрын
I was just going to say the same thing. When I choose System dialog though, it hides behind my cricut window and I can't access the settings. I have to "shrink" the cricut window (& sometimes other windows that are in the way) and then I can access the settings. I always select "quality" under "Print Quality" settings and my images are beautiful. I use an Epson ecotank as well. btw, with the new release of Design Space (7.27) you can now print on more of your paper with PrintThenCut.

Can I ask you both @tracie and @debbie which Eco tank you have and whether yours prints on tracing paper and 220gsm? My eco tank has died and I need a new one but I didn’t like certain things about it-sorry to divert the conversation…
@debbiewall123 Жыл бұрын
@@junkerryjournals7924 I have an older Epson Ecotank 2760. It's one of the basic models and has been discontinued. It doesn't like odd paper weights - light or heavy. so, probably not what you are looking for. But it prints beautifully on my medium weight papers (20-80 lb) and the ink lasts "forever".
@TracieFoxCreative Жыл бұрын
I have 2 the ET-7750 and the ET- 8850, It is hit and miss what thinner papers they will print on, but to be honest I do not try odd papers in the new one. On the older one, I will use masking tape along the top of the page to secure tracing paper to a sheet of copy paper, do this with thinner papers too and that always seem to work. Hope that helps. I might do a video on using papers in your printer BUT every printer is different :-D.

I don't mind fussing cutting by hand, as I need something. The machines sound too time consuming. However I do need calibration from time to time - usually chocolate or wine makes the necessary adjustments.

Cori said that she couldn't remember where she had seen these pockets being made, but that she had written down the word "attic." Well... it just so happens that this morning - before coming here - I had searched on KZbin for videos on making Paper Clip Pockets and watched a video on how to do these on a You Tube channel called Attic Lane !! That has to be where Cori got this idea !!! Just wanted to set the record straight and give the lady at Attic Lane her due credit....
