The Honda S660 is a two-seat sports car which fits in the very small Kei car category. It is manufactured by the Japanese manufacturer Honda. The car weighs approximately 830 kg with the manual transmission and 850 kg with the CVT automatic. A prototype was shown at the November 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, the major Japanese auto show event. It is the successor to the Honda Beat (in terms of size), and the Honda S2000 (In terms of "S" models used in Honda). The naming convention of using the letter "S" followed by the engine displacement is a long-held Honda tradition going back to Honda's first production car, the Honda S500.

I don't know why we can't have the kei cars in Europe, that would make so much sense in our narrow streets and roads. Plus the fuel efficiency and the ecofriendlyness is totally on par with most of Europe target regarding CO2 emissions. I would have that as a daily any day.

zoufmalade here in the US we can import them after they are 25 years or older. Some people have imported some old kei cars already. It is not easy you have to find a reputable dealer that does it right if anything is wrong in the paper work it can get crushed. Also there is extra taxes to be paid. If we never got it parts are hard to find with imported cars.

it has probably something to do with safety (same thing with the Nissan r24) , safety regulations are killing small cars like these in Europe nowadays.( if the first Smart car came out now , it wouldve been banned)

Nice backround info on the engineering. I like Hondas approach of prioritizing the best solution over decision through authority. Sadly it's rarely common practice and that really annoys me as an engineer. Too many people without any clue at all are in management positions.

Many, many years ago in my youth I owned a Kei car, it was a Suzuki SC100 " whiz kid", it also was a rear engine rear wheel drive, but was very practical as it had 4 seats. It had loads of kit and was surprisingly cheap to buy. I actually sold it after 2 years of ownership for more than I bought it for new, how often can you do that! I bought it new from a UK suzuki dealer, I loved it. It wasn't particularly fast but so so much fun to drive. There were very few here in the UK, so it attracted a lot of attention and interest as nobody had a clue what it was. An interesting review, Its great to see that these fun cool microcars are still popular. Its a shame that they are only available in Japan.

America the land of giants, six foot plus +, 200 LBS, would not consider this go-cart, micro-car as a feasable, useful daily driver. The trunk space is barely enough to fit a Supersize me meal for one person.

My BIGGEST AUTOMOTIVE FRUSTRATION was not to be able to drive this lovely little thingy. Why Honda kept it JDM only still is beyond me. It baffles me. I would surely have given up any vehicle imaginable to have this: - Sub 900 kg weight - Mid-engined - Manual - Low centre of gravity - Low carbon footprint Basically for those of us who REALLY enjoy driving while not being oblivious of our planet, our fellow earthling-mates and even our children. Unique little car. Little lovely gem.

Which this was available in Australia. I commute 130 Ks each way and this would make the journey fun. I am a keen motorcyclist in my early 60s and have two Honda motorcycles in my Man Cave and I would be prepared to scarifice one for this beast. By the looks of it, it is not inexpensive. Maybe some other bikes would have to go as well however after watching this it looks like it would be worth it. Love the cabin ! Love the standard equipment too. What a shame it isn't here in Australia.
