BlackBerry, as we know it, is no more. The company is undergoing some massive changes -- large amounts of layoffs, retreating from the consumer market, and a possibly buyout. But the company is dear to many of us, so we wanted to pay homage to BlackBerry's glory days with a throwback review of one of its most popular devices, the Curve 8330. I had a silver one ..This is such an awesome video...awesome throwback. I remember when I had one if these all of my friends thought that It was the most amazing thing, they had never seen anything like it before! Paid like $350 for the thing unlocked though..about a year or year and a half later, I parted with it because it began to get outdated, and my trackball broke, and no matter what it did I could not seem to find the right part to fit my 8330...now I happily posses the Galaxy Note 3 , for another 4.5 months anyway..

My Blackberry Curve 8320 will always be the best phone I've ever owned. The design was great I think. Small for today's standards obviously but still great.

This was my favorite phone of all time. All my friends had them, just so we could use the BB im app. I forgot about the leather pouch, it was great, had a magnet in it the would put the phone to sleep when inserted and wake it up automatically when you pulled it out. I even had the snap in holster that did this as well. I remember I bought the table top charging stand, and used to have to fight with my roommate as he would "borrow" it all the time.

You know what ruined Blackberry? Kids ruined Blackberry, Blackberry made good business man's phones that were doing quite well, then all the kids starting getting them for BBM because they went popular or 'mainstream',so Blackberry changed and started catering for kids, and then as soon as the kids realised they were crap because they didn't have little games and stupid novelties that the kids desired, they all got new phones, namely iPhones, which led to Blackberry's downfall.

One hundred percent agreed, the Curve 8520 was for the kids and gave everyone a bad impression of blackberry because of it's slow processor compared to the other models, I still use blackberry i have had the Q10 but last year went back to the Bold 9900 :D

Just found my BB last night. Purchased a charger on Amazon and hoping it turns on. This thing was my first own smart phone and it was my BABY. So happy I kept it around, even if it doesn’t work♥️

I used to love the blackberry curve 8330. Those were the good ol days if removable batteries and a nice leather sleeve and headphones would come in the box. I loved the keyboard. It was so accurate. The keyboard shortcuts were very underrated.

This was my first smartphone! I had it for quite a time until I lost my job and traded it with someone off Craigslist for an LG eNV 3... Even now with my Galaxy Note 2 I still miss my blackberry days with a passion.

I had the 8310 and it was actually a really good phone for its time. The camera was better than almost everything else including the 3gs that succeeded it. I honestly miss is quite a bit.

Sure. Trackball is needed with such a big screens. Then stereo speakers like some HTC phones like m8 had because these cant be replaced by underscreen speakers. And last physical navigational buttons. And I would like keyboard like blackberry priv had but for widescreen not on portrait mode

My dad had that phone and we were shoveling snow off the driveway (Yes i'm in Canada) and it fell off his belt and stayed buried in the snow for 5 months in 20-30 degrees Celsius outside temperatures and I dried it out in the spring and it still works to this day!

Ahhh....where it all started....this Blackberry was a trooper. I had the big ass 3000mAhSeidio battery, customized green housing and the track ball. Haa! Btw the phone came out in 07.

I have about 10 of these in a container. and 2 perls. Sadly there all CDMA :( they all pretty much work, But I wish I had a 8300 as I have AT&T

I still have my blackberry 8330 and you know what it is still kicking ass. So yes I do use my blackberry 8330 from time to time and the battery life on it is still good. It is a incredible phone today

Had a pink one. That phone was good to me. It lasted for almost four years until finally getting an iPhone. Got my Curve wet a time too many and it never recovered. RIP!

This phone was a nightmare and a dream for me. The nightmare was the Metro PCS one, which constantly lost its data connection and had to rebooted to get back online. The dream was the Boost Mobile one, which gave me maybe one or two problems in the entire time I used it.

I had this BB and loved it. But in 2008 my wife got an iPhone 3g, and after 3 years of being a BB diehard, I got an iPhone shortly after that. Two reasons: 1. My gmail account had gone IMAP, and it didn't work right with the BIS service like regular POP email had, and 2. I had switched to a Macbook around this time and BB syncing software was really Windows only. There were some workarounds but it was really sucky trying to use a BB with a Macbook.

I love a good come back story, I almost bought my first BlackBerry to play my part in one. Now I'm glad I didn't, they look to far gone. Sad though, I think there are enough smart phone consumers to warrant 4 or 5 major operating systems.

Back in the days it was a great phone. Still use a q10 next to my iphone 5, samsung galaxy s4 and htc one. A blackberry is for email and security not for plating around like the other os

I bought this phone after I tried the Blackberry Pearl Flip which was brand new and still had bugs (I guess they just gave up on that phone). The Blackberry Curve infuriated me because it would be slow with sending texts and other data. I ended up losing it but I missed it so much that I bought a Curve from Boost Mobile because they're one of the few companies that still sell them. Lol It sucks that RIM and Blackberry went down like that I really wanted the Palm Treo because they had nicer buttons and a touchscreen integration which was nice at that time but they stopped with Palm products as well. :( Memories

I had this a media player as a kid until the SD card door broke and I lost the SD card. Then it was just a toy for me. I miss seeing Blackberry compete with other companies. I wished that these qwerty keyboard phones would still be around for prepaid burners. I wouldn't mind using this for a month tho.

I still have my Blackberry Curve 8300 when it came out it cost me $340 on a two year contract after taxes for AT&T. I consider myself lucky because getting a $30 unlimited data plan I still have my unlimited data now, I was the only kid in my whole high school with a smartphone including the no teacher had one as well.

I never had a blackberry, though I always wanted one. The closest thing I had to it was the Samsung blackjack but it wasn't the same. During my senior year, I was gonna get one but opted to get the iPhone 3GS at the time. That was back in January 2011.

Tyler Cameron actually, the 3GS was still good. I only opted to get that one over the 4 because the 4 was having problems and the 3GS was being sold by at&t for 50 bucks with a contract.

Awesome video I really wish that Blackberry wouldn't go private but they really were failing in the consumer market. If they had done better and jumped into the touchscreen and faster smartphone world sinner I think they could have been doing well.

Got the 8330i from sprint , would have got the same phone when upgrade was around but they said they did not sell anymore , (did not really do ebay / amazon at the time and was not very tech savoy than ) so had to switch to Motorola admiral... not a great phone, and I had no idea there are different os at the time . could not understand why it was so much slower than my blackberry curve with 2x the ram and so much more buggy ... I think I have learned a whole lot since than. and all the os are really good now too.
