I still think this is Paul's best song with Poco even though Heart of the Night had more pop success. If you've even had a difficult relationship breakup and aren't touched by this song..well...you have no soul.

A young American of Mexican decent pole vaulter listening to "Bad Weather" when Led Zep and Foghat was the in music. People looked at me like I was nuts, but I knew Poco was it! I'm glad my parents taught me to be an individual and not follow the crowd. I'd never have discovered this beautiful music. Thank you members of Poco!

Poco was a country rock band that helped paved the way for bands like the Eagles who were also classified as a country rock band in their early days. Listen to the original version of this song. It most certainly IS a country song. Maybe not the crappy country songs everybody likes these days but in a more traditional country style. The original had pedal steel guitar and better harmonies. Like it or not, it’s country

I spent a week learning this song off of the LP and darned near went crazy trying to figure it out. Practiced for another week and then I ended up playing it at a small venue to test new material; played it flawlessly and looked down to see a few tough bikers weeping. Finishing that song, I had to stand outside and recover before going back inside for my second set. I never had a beer that night and those bikers hugged me so hard I had bruised ribs for a week. This song means so much to me at 70.

This is the tune that got Paulie (Norman, actually) in the band. It has always been my view that he sang the whole thing, and that this was Ritchie helping him out, after many years. I've listened to the original again---sounds like Paul to me. Do you know something I don't? Either way, it's a lovely tune. His other "all time" song, in my opinion, was "Ride the Country". Saw the "boys" in August in NJ--they brought out George Grantham, it was nice. They opened for L&M. It was cool.

So can someone please identify all these guys in this great performance? The lead singer? On the acustic guitar? That's Paul Cotton (bald headed) on the uke. So is was Paul Cotton's his group at that time? How did that happen? And where is Jim Messina? The problem with Poco was they never made any money like the Eagles..Too dedicated to the craft. If you watch the History of the Eagles documentary (fantastic BTW) you can see how this country to rock thing all evolved and how the Eagles made it into a business. The talent amongst all these guys in the late 60's and 70's was amazing. True musicians, amazing song writers, performers and legitimate singers. They needed no help to make this beautiful music; Just talent!. Glad to have enjoyed this music!!!
