Randy Meisner is one of the best bass players to ever live. His lines are perfect, smooth, melodic, rhythmic, memorable. Since I was a kid and my dad would play the Eagles my ears would zero in on those beautiful bass lines.

Man, I loved Richie Furay and the bands he was in. I still listen to that music today (not on my vinyl that are still in boxes, though) I've said it hundreds of times, but I never thought that type of music would ever stop being made because it was SO good. I would hope that millions of people are still listening to it like I am.

This reminds me of my brother in law. He’s working out with a guy in Manhattan names Felix. People are coming up to him and getting his autograph. My brother in law after a while says “are you famous or something”? Felix says “ I used to be in a band”. Felix Cavaliere of the Rascals. My brother in law wasn’t up on all things rock n roll.

Poco "From the Inside" album is one great piece of work...songs like "What am I gonna do", "What if I should say I love you" "You are the one".and "Bad Weather"...priceless.

Richie seems like a friendly and unpretentious guy. I wish I could bump into him in a grocery store. I have listened to the Springfield my entire life and lived in the L.A. area when they were hot. I was stoked to see them in 2010 in Oakland, Ca. Kind Woman is one of the greatest songs ever written.

Don't ask me to choose which is the better vocal performance -- Randy Meisner's "Take It To the Limit" or Timothy B. Schmit's "I Can't Tell You Why" or Richie Furay's "On the Way Home." I just know those three voices are somewhere in my top 100 singers of all time.

Forgive this bass player for the hijack...Just for fun, listen to the bass on On the Way Home. Its awesome.. Messina said it was him. It is also said that Furay was chosen to sing lead, because his voice was more normal compared to the writer of the song, Neil Young.

I love you Richie. I remember meeting you at Kumalani Chapel 💒 back in the 80s. We had a chat and I told you how my friends and I just adored Poco and had it blasting from our vehicles with us singing along. I was so thrilled to meet you and hope you come back to Maui and play at the MACC. Aloha Ann Marie🤙🏽🥰🙏🏽

For myself the genre Country Rock was invented the second I heard “Pickin’ Up The Pieces” by Poco and written by Richie Furay. He is the godfather of Country Rock as far as I’m concerned. Poco brought the rock to county and everyone else followed. Every bit as significant as any of their peers. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Actually, Gram Parsons was the one who paved the way. Also Lonnie Mack. But I get what you are saying, and in my opinion, it depends on who you were exposed to first. :)

I saw Poco in concert in 1971. Had no idea who Timothy B. Schmitt was. Their singing as a group was spot on perfect. Timothy B. stood out though. I was a fan ever after. Tim's bass playing always fits the song perfectly.

I am a little biased when it comes to those two bass players I know they are both great musicians but I think Randy was the better singer even though I love Timothy B's vocals with Poco and the Eagles I give the edge to Randy because after all he and I are both Nebraska boys.

Richie Furay is one of my favorites, along with Graham Parsons, Chris Hilman, and those two bassists you guys were s0eaking about! Randy's work with Ricky Nelson was great, then he was some country-rock group after Poco, and they did pretty well! Tomothy B Schmidt singing Keep on Tryin' and on Love Will Keep us Alive, I can't Tell You Why = all perfection.

You should ask Richie if Randy Meisner was such a great guy why wasn’t he on the cover of Poco’s debut album? He played and sang on it but his vocals were removed from the final cut of the album? Weak move, Richie.
