I install a J1 pod filter adapter and K&N Pod Filter on the Aussie Mk7 Fiesta ST MP215.

I got lucky and found it second hand online. I know DRS Cornwall were doing a pre-order a while back on their own 3D printed version.

I did this aswell and today it ended up throwing a code. Had to swap back to my mount tune air box. Is there a way to stop it from going into limp mode ?

Did you put the maf housing in the right way. The maf sensor will only work facing one way towards the filter but the maf housing is easy to put in the wrong way. As I show in the video the curved side of the sensor should be on the side of the induction hose, the flat side with the opening shpuld be towards the filter, the red clip on the wiring harness would be towards the front of the car, not to the battery.

I don't give the car a hard time. Sitting on 7.2L/h now after Revo stage 2 but, I enjoy it a little more and have a different drive to work which factors in. Please consider subscribing if you haven't already.

Is your car naturally aspirated, or did you install a turbo? I've noticed some people have a blow off sound when having the K&N pod filter

It's an ST so it's a factory turbo 1.6L.

Do you have to have the adapter?? Or can I fit the filter straight on the the exciting piping and keep the maf?

You need the adapter. With the Euro model the MAF housing is a part of the top of the standard airbox (all one moulded piece) so it could not be used without a lot of modification as far as I could see. Thanks for watching.

Fordy Ford thanks , this I what I thought. The adapters are pretty expensive I guess you could always cut up the top piece of the air box. Where did you get your adapter from?

@@jamesmargrave319 I bought mine second hand. If you have a Euro built car check out DRS Cornwall or Airtec, they both make adapters.

Just the noise from changing the filter. I still have the standard recirculating valve.

@@chrishayes4501 it is one of the easier mods to access and change. I'd recommend a smaller filter than the K&N one I had.

It was the standard recirculation valve in this video. I now have the GFB DV+ so still a recirc valve but metal instead of plastic.

Dose it fit in the standard induction hose or do you need a after market one ps uk spec

The aftermarket silicone hoses should be the same internal diameter as the standard plastic flexi hose (at least the Mountune one) can be used with the standard airbox and the J1 adapter is the same size on that side. This is an older style J1 adapter however DRS Cornwall started selling them again, I assume they are the same dimensions as the old ones.

Thanks buddy I had airtec stage 2 and the maf housing smaller diameter the silicone one so was running in to problem with check engine light on so purchased the j1 adapter so hopefully it work when it come thanks anyway bud and keep up the videos

Not usually for European built cars no. I have the MP215 from Mountune through Ford Australia so it was never an issue for me. Just don't buy an intake kit for a U.S built car if you have a European car and vice versa.

@@danparsons798 it is the air filter. Allows for a bit better airflow and you can hear the turbo/induction noise a lot more. As I have it here it probably takes in more warmer engine bay air than the standard box so don't use it anymore like this for that reason.

If you want the induction noise it is worth it yes. If you just want better flow with no added induction noise then replacing the stock panel filter with a high flowing one might be the way to go.

What did you do with second rubber tube under filter?

The pourous hose from the Mountune kit? I kept it in place. I tightened the clamp around it and cable tied it to the standard box mounting point.

When you disassembled old filter and take off cover I saw a rubber pipe inserted to old cover from bottom 5:45. After I watched your movie you didn't put/connect this rubber pipe anywhere.

No worries. Anyone with the standard airbox won't have that hose anyway, it came with the Mountune MP215 kit.
