Hi Troy, I have been wanting to upgrade my failing pod 300 hd and getting a helix. Currently they seem to be unavailable in Australia but I can get a pod go. I also like the built in wireless feature. I think I am correct in saying that you can't stack drives or use blocks exactly how you would like though... Would you recommend a Go? or should I wait for the helix....?

Hello there. You’re right about the Go. Consequently, it is very limited. If you want flexibility, you have to go with the Helix.

Love your work Troy but is it just me or these tones sound so thin compared to real amps and pedals? I'm looking for a portable setup and a good bedroom practice solution. Maybe a better combo would be to use the POD Go with a real tube amp?

I would say use an amp that is pedal friendly. A good clean amp should be fine i.e. fender blues Jr or pro jr. if you’re on a strict budget, try using a bugera. You can get a 5 watt for $200 new. This would be good for your bedroom situation.

I think it's because these are "mix ready" type of tones. You'd be surprised how much cutting might get done at the board to create an uncluttered FOH mix. These types of tones would probably fit right in, with minimal cutting or boosting to get them to sit right.

Troy, thanks for these! I've been using them for a year now and have gotten lots of complements. I've been having trouble with 60 cycle hum when going coil split or using a tele/strat. Any suggestions on tweaks for singles/coil split? I've tried adding in the noise gate but the tech team still gets cranky sometimes when I go single coil. (It's not just one guitar so highly unlikely the guitar is the culpret)

There’s no pad. That’s all effects from POD in the patches. 😃

Hello Troy, i bought the pod go effects and they sound so good, but I have a buzz coming for every effect. I play a telecaster with noiseless 4th gen through a little amp with the Pod go. Is there a way to get rid of the buzz? Maybe turn the gain down or what else should I do? I am kind of new is this area and any little help would be much appreciated! Sorry for my English! Hi there. Glad you're happy with the sounds. Those presets aren't designed to be plugged into an amp; they are for direct sounds. That could be the problem. Have you tried listening through the headphone jack to see if you have the same issue? They are quiet as can be with my guitars.

Try this: on your Tele, remove the pick guard. Put copper tape in the pickup cavity. The entire opening, make sure your grounded good with wires. I had the same problem with my Noiseless Fender pups.

The buzz is because he doesn't have the noise gate on. You can turn it in and it takes care of the buzz during quiet parts

Great sounding presets. We’ve been having fun with the snapshots feature on the POD GO that one of our members got. We like it so much that we’re putting a house POD GO on the next thing for finance team to approve. One thing. I’ve noticed a lot of worship resources are creating presets with wet effects after the amp. Does that just work better in light of potentially using snapshots to increase amp gain? I know the effects in front will get muddy, the more overdriven the amp model is (like a real amp), but sometimes a little of that sounds good.

Josh, I agree with you about liking wet effects before the amp. I MUCH prefer that sound. However, in my experience the Helix doesn’t replicate that sound very well, especially with verbs. I usually put the delays before the amp blocks.

No you can't. Not sure if down the road they would allow it. For one, it sucks because it's just obvious to anyone that putting that there would be a must have feature. But for two, it makes you be more personal with your pedal. You HAVE to know what's on each snapshot to to some degree you get a level of uniqueness in your own presets.

Can you be more specific? All you need to do is connect the POD Go to your computer computer, open POD Go edit and drag the presets into the editor. Done. 👍🏻
