I have always been curious when people talk about adding elastic to their knits so I would love to see more about how you do it once you do !

@@CreatingHannah I’ll talk about it in my next pod! It’s been pretty life changing for my knits no lie

Uh I would be also interested if the knit 2 together would work on the bag. Maybe do a little swatch without the purling and compare it to the pictures of the texture of the bag. And if it isn’t a huge difference in style and structure, I would definitely do it.

Thanks for the great episode! So the needle error number is consistent in my favourite things patterns. I emailed them with the same issue with camisole #7 and they were unbothered (I even included pictures of needle size charts) and camisole #9 has the same issue. It made me feel like I was crazy but I’m glad it’s not just me, I don’t know why no one else talks about this.

Omg I simply cannot believe this - it's such an easy thing to fix why are they dragging their feet on it!

@@studyknitsI don’t know, I just assumed I must be somehow wrong. I love my favourite things designs but I don’t love their pattern writing so I’m trying to resist them when they come out.

@@Mynextknit this and the history of pattern exclusivity makes me want to resist but the patterns are so cute - I do try to make similar ones that aren’t hers but some are irresistible ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

On your lace top, I think k2tog & k the stitch on the wrong side will probably be fine, but you might try ssp instead of p2tog. I do a Russian purl, which sounds like the way you purl - usually this results in having to swap around my stitches for k2tog & ssk. I've found for lace knitting, if the direction of the decrease doesn't matter, I can just substitute one for the other depending on which is more comfortable. I'm thinking the same might be true for your p2tog
@gracegarmire75Ай бұрын
In my mind I think p2tog is the same as slip slip knit on the wrong side, so it might just mean your stitches lean the wrong direction but I also think it can’t make a huge difference other than maybe a slightly different stretch

Absolutely respond. Whoever tech edited pattern should have known that the US needle size was NOT the metric equivalent . Very sloppy editing and their answer was vey disappointing and disrespectful.

thank you for the validation!!!! I emailed them back but they have not responded and I do not think they ever will lol

I’m also doing the Melides top! Fair warning: the silk GROWS when you block it-more on the garment than the swatch. I originally started the size 5 and ended up frogging it and ended up dropping to a size 2.

What you do is called combination knitting. I have purled like that all my life and never knew it wasn’t „the usual way“ of purling 😂

It's the best way and the easiest. I am portuguese so I learned portuguese purl ... but in summer it's umbereable to knit portuguese way, so I switched to continental with Norwegian purl. Whem i discovered combination knitting never went back😊❤

I have the same question re: purling vs knitting on a lace pattern. I have just cast on the Mesh Sweater from Suzanne Mueller and I couldn't figure out what difference the purls would make except to drive me crazy lol. Interested see if anyone knows the answer.

Hi , I still have half an hour of the episode to watch, but can't resist to comment 🙃...before I forget....hydroxide peroxide (H2O2) is a great stain remover. It removes blood stains, specially if they are fresh...sorry about this because it may be a little disgusting to some, but for some of us, women and mothers, may be a useful info😊....THE OTHER THING I wanted to say is that you are saying Melides the right way in the beginning of the episode. Don't change it. You got it right😊❤ Love from Lisbon 🥰

Thank you! I will revert back to my original Melides pronunciation :)
