I remember hearing about SWCC and wanting to join so badly (who doesn’t want to shoot the best guns and be around the best of the best) but due to several surgeries, I couldn’t join. It made me so bummed 😤😤😤 Go SWCC! Regardless, I’m surprised how much support the NSW community has. As the interviewer has indicated, family is significant and for you to have those resources is so important.

What little shooting we do at Great Lakes, I was shocked when I was invited to try out for UDT. I passed the timed swim, treading water, timed run & pull ups, sit ups, all that stuff. Next day went for UDT physical & my eyes didn't pass? Offered me another option, but went on to A School Radioman. I always wondered what that other option was??

How long is an initial SWCC contract? Does it include training or does the contract start after you graduate the pipeline?

6 years initial contract to include training. If you fail out or anything it’ll drop to a 4 year contract and you’ll pick another rate to be miserable in for the next 4 years.
