Hi Zach. I suffered a C4/C5 Incomplete injury going on 10 years this year. Once you suffer a spinal cord injury we stop sweating below the level of our injury, it’s called Poiklothermia or Thermoregulation also applies. When I asked my neurologist he told me that our pores stay closed withholding the heat in our bodies. Carrying around a spray bottle to spray yourself down in the heat will open you pores keeping you cooler but you still won’t sweat.

Zack and Travis, I watched this video from a different perspective than most of the viewers. This conversation is AWESOME, it shows the strength, power, and grace of young people. For both of you, your lives are better and more developed than those who have never had such an experience. Out of Adversity Comes the Call to Greatness. You are both awesome. Thank you.........Ray

Hi Zack! My name is Maria. I have been a You-Tube Follower of yours for years. Whenever I read or hear a story of another Teenager or anybody succumbing to paralysis from a diving accident, you come right to mind. I also use you as such an inspiration when I am down and out with life not being the way I want it to be. At that moment, I think of you and to myself I say, “Stop with the negativity Maria”. You have put my life in a whole new perspective. I just read an article from T.V. Station in N.C where a 16 year old boy, dove into the shallow end of a pool, paralyzing hims chest down. The young man’s name is Austin Somerville. I don’t personally know you or him, but would like to share your Channel with that news station and they hopefully sharing it with Brian. I am 57 years old, and I know of the great impact you made on me, so I can only imagine how you could impact this guy’s life. Stay Safe, Stay Positive! Many of us out here need you. God Bless you and all your loved ones.❤️❤️🙏🙏

I’ve been following your channel for a while now too. My father worked in finance and budget for a beach city in Orange County. I’m glad your dad talked about neck injuries at the beach. Outside of the wedge, I didn’t hear enough about neck injuries. Cities get and got sued so many times for beach injuries. Neck injuries a lot, but everything else too! Lifeguards and police run over sunbathers, and they’ve been killed- that happened recently in Venice beach. Easter 2019 I think. And the bonfire pits too! The beach is so dangerous. Growing up my dad would say oh be careful the city will get sued!
