You're not the only one with a spinner. Little Johns Yarn also uses a spin wheel for prizes when she does a live. She used to have one like yours, but now she uses an online version of the wheel. Greetings from westTexas. Your channel popped up on my feed because I was looking for some ideas for blankets and beanies. I subbed yesterday. I love your personality and technique of teaching ! I watched like 4 of your videos yesterday. I love the 20 beanies you made so beautifully. I crochet but I’m not a regular and I’m self taught from before youtube and internet. I’m working on a throw and it’s almost done. I requested to join your fb group. The scarf and beanie in great and denim blue are spectacular! I heard you say how you were taught how to do a Granny square. I’m 73 and the woman that taught me how to crochet when I was 9, she started me with the Granny Square and she taught me that it was 4 dc, 3 chains in between. So when I found all these crochet channels on UTube it blew me away when they showed only 3dc and chain 2

I hear ya about the yarn and patterns. I almost never follow patterns exactly because I get bored. I’m an experienced beginner so it’s risky but I learn from my mistakes and get better. Might as well buy the blanket/sweater already made if it’s too prescribed and rigid. 👍

Fall of 85, I remember my mom trying to learn how to make granny squares. Before that she only did the basics. I remember her trying to teach me as she was learning (that was a disaster). She chained 1 between the granny stitches and 3 in the corners, the pattern she had that's what it said. I learned to do them that way 2 yrs ago, then I saw them done another way and I prefered them that way and kept making them that way. Why on earth do people always feel the need on how to tell someone how to run their channel or the content. Don't like it, don't watch it, move on ...or make your own channel how you want it.
