56:04 I can totaly identify with dealing with OSHA times ten…working on a ocean going merchant vessel … we were regulated by the Coast Guard, OSHA compliant, plus going international we had to comply with the regulations of every country we docked at….sometimes delayed the work. Anytime taking on fuel or lube oil…even water..the required paper work was a pain….. Oh….did I tell you guys how much I am enjoying this podcast….? 😊

Sorry I jumped in late on this one Gentlemen, i love your word of the day and the Q & A's you have recently started. Maaan you have covered some ground in this session like leaving home and what to leave or sell and immigration and visas. First time in Thailand was 1990 and it was without internet and cell phones now look at 555. The first time i met you Chuck was walking down Beach Road towards the Night Market with my wife and turned and looked at the Timber Hut sign and couldn't believe you were sitting there with the crew. My wife was a little shy so she continued to the market and i sat down and you bought me a beer so i naturally bought a round later. Mitch you had alot of good info and a great sense of humor...I have also had Boxers all my life and lost the last one a couple years ago and he was such a clown that made it to almost 15..his name was Dozer...great dog!

Happy New Year guys! Thanks for sharing your story Mitch and both of you just "shootin' the bull"! My wife and I have been both retired now ten years. We prefer to do part time in Thailand (escaping most of the Wisconsin winter) at our home here in southern Khon Kaen province and part time in the US. Our kids and grandkids (now young adults) are still an important part of our lives. We know being in our 70's now, it will get to the point where we will no longer want to make that long haul flight, but it's been a great gig for us up to this point. Keep up with your great life-experience videos (and yes, the golfing ones are fine with me as I still work part time 2 days a week in a pro shop at a local Wisconsin golf course....so get my golf for free). All the best to you, Paige and the entire family...and you, Mitch and Dow in this New Year! Take care all!

Liked the video, I've been a subscriber for a long time and sometimes I still learn a little bit more from the experiences you guys share. Hooked up with David at TLP and pay them as Chuck does, for a little extra security and convenience. I am learning from my mistakes as well.

Mitch is describing most everything I have been on the fence on the decision to move to Thailand in which I was the in 1974 in the military. The only thing keeping me from this move is air quality in which like Mitch I live in western Washington near the Olympic mountains. From what I know it is now burning season. I have watch ed Joe and Gift who live near Hua Hin and the air quality seems to be a bit better there as whole other than upcountry.
@notime2bsad11 күн бұрын
Chiang mai is in a valley. Chiang Rai is more mountain. You must remember it's all about the wind. There is burning season all throughout Southeast Asia with the exception of singapore. The reason why it's not so bad anywhere by the water is because of the wind.
@garyr269711 күн бұрын
@ I appreciate that as my reasoning by the water has like you say the winds for circulation. I am speculating a 60 day trip later this year to the Hua Hin area. Have a great day as I enjoy your content amongst a few others there and like Mitch said you may have to duck down operating a motor vehicle in Washington.

Had the same problem, went below the bank funds amount and now I have another appointment with David at TLP. I thought maybe the woman at immigration just thought I was ugly so she didn't want to be generous but Mitch had the same issue so that wasn't it......or was it.

Great open conversation. Feel a bit less stressed about HOW TO GET RID OF 25 YEARS AND 3,000 SQUARE FEET OF HOUSEHOLD ITEMS AND 3 CARS. We both have no desire to keep even the nice things. Just my dog is going with us in 2026
