Julien, about your whiskey barrel: please don't throw your barrel out! The barrel is now actually perfect for ageing another whiskey. Due to the evaporation, the barrel is now completely covered in the aroma of the first whiskey you put in. A new added whiskey would turn out even much more amazing because the barrel will now bring much more flavor to it than before. Just thought I'd let you know!
@iron3437 жыл бұрын

Hey Jenna and Julien! I have a story about (potentially) Zozo for you guys about my experience. Its going to be long, so kudos to whoever reads the whole thing. So, I've ALWAYS loved the paranormal. Always research it, always loved learning about it and have had multiple experiences (Which I'll save for a later time if you want to hear). But in college, freshman year (Which is three years ago) it came around to my new friends that I knew a bunch of shit about the paranormal world. It was around halloween and they called me and was like "Hey, We want to try the ouija board but don't know how" and I was like "Cool, I do lets go." Now, Let me say to everyone reading, DO NOT FUCK WITH OUIJA BOARDS. EVEN HOMEMADE OR "CHEAP". ESPECIALLY if you don't know how to properly call upon the spirit world, or close or will be disrespectful. We did the Ouija board and it was actually really cool. We talked to a few spirits (We did about three sessions over a course of two weeks). And I would always lead, open and close. Mind you, this is dangerous because you've basically opened your full energy and mind. So yeah, we talked to a women who was a care taker of children in colonial time period, we talked to a marine from world war 2 (He gave us shipping numbers that checked out) and we talked to a former student of our college who died of alcohol poisoning. Our last session was the weirdest. So it started off with a young girl. I can't remember if she was four or five. She talked to us about her favorite color, or favorite animal and it was at first, sweet. But then it turned weird. I started getting touched, my hair and my arm. We asked why and the little girl said that my hair was pretty and she wanted to play with it. I started feeling hot, which was the opposite of what i felt with other sessions. Other sessions we would feel cool breezes. This time, If I was touched, It kind of burned. I was very vocal with the group with how I felt and what was happening. My friend told me after that I went real quiet for a little bit and looked pale and exhausted. I don't remember being silent. But the little girl started saying she was scared. She was in hell. Shes scared. And then we asked why she was scared (i mean, hell probably is but we needed to stop the rambling of letters) and she kept saying MAMA. I knew it was going downhill. Little girl plus MAMA was a NONO. (lol) But the board kept talking. She said Mama wont let her go, Mama is keeping her there. I felt something touch my hair again but this time it wasnt so soft and I asked if it was her and she said "No, Mama." My friends started freaking out, I was feeling drained, but I told them to calm down because we can't afford more negative energy. As I was about too quickly close the session, the planchette kept going to random letters, as if to stop me from closing. At this point (there were about four or so of us) it was just me and one other person touching it and we could feel it forcing us to not go to goodbye. Im hastily saying my closing statements, asking to leave and trying to get it to goodbye. As I try to move it it beings circling. We push harder and it was a struggle to move it to goodbye, but we got it. It took actual force. We had someone taking notes every session and we ended up burning those notes as well as anything else tied to that session. The board could not be burned because to much smoke and college campus, but it was put away properly. I was DRAINED. I couldn't feel my legs. It was as if I ran a hike for eight hours and haven't eaten (no joke). We tried the spirit circle in these two weeks too and I have to say I like that one a lot. That one had a better system, had a better opening, and was in general more positive. However, Don't mess with things unless you're fully conscious of the pros, and cons and what you're getting yourself into. Be educated as best you can.

My cousin and I were playing with a Ouija board when I was around 12 or 13. We used to mess with it all the time. It predicted that her Aunt would have a miscarriage and mentioned the word train tracks. Had no idea what that meant. Her Aunt was not even pregnant at the time. Six months later she was waiting in her car as a train was going through and started having a miscarriage. We played it all the time. Some days it would be mild mannered and other days it would just spell the words kill, hate, murder and call us every cuss word in the book. Toward the end of us playing it (and this why we stopped), we were on the top bunk and it started getting angry and calling us names. We were both sitting with our legs crossed, facing each other with the board touching our knees; suddenly this board just whipped through the air like frisbee and crashed into her dresser mirror, shattering it. Scariest thing that's ever happened. We were stunned. There was no way either of us could have made it do that. Both of our hands were placed on the planchette very lightly. After we got ourselves together, we dismantled the planchette and put it in the garbage and took the board itself into the woods and buried it. We heard that you shouldn't burn one. I was young and dumb but this shit is real af. Don't fuck with it.

Evyn Alexander after I finished watching the podcast I was so spooked about zozo. I did not feel safe in my own home that I had to burn incense. My belief may be way out there but sometimes if the presence of a spirit is strong enough and if you think about it or watch stuff about it or read about it, it will find a way to get to you and I ‘like’ to read about these kinds of things they’re interesting but I am always so scared that I have to burn incense like juniper. But that’s just me 🤷🏼♀️

I felt sick when you started talking about "Zozo" and said that it also goes by Mama. In high school my friends and I decided to be idiots and mess with a Ouija board. In the dark, candles, chanting and all. We did this a lot... every time we all got together. After a few times the board went wonky and started spelling "MAMA MAMA MAMA MAMA" repeatedly. It did that for the rest of our use. Things went full fuckery from there, my friend. "Possessions" if you want to believe in that. Seeing things. Anyway, my friends got really freaked out after an event I wasn't there for during which a knife got drawn by a "possessed" friend. A few of them went to a pastor to get un-fuckeried and we never picked that shit up again. DON'T MESS WITH OUIJA BOARDS FOLKS. I don't even fully believe in the idea but this was the freakiest experience I've had to date. Again... I got teary-eyed and sick when y'all said "Mama," because that thing was vocal about "MAMA MAMA MAMA." Yikes. Okay goodnight never fam.

Jenna & Julien, Quartz DEFINITELY has scientific electrical conductive properties! Remember traditional analog watches? And how most had Quartz labeled at the top? Because the literally had pieces of quartz that helped keep the pieces properly calibrated. Quartz was/ is also used in CD players, televisions, various computer components, and so much more! Also, as an Army vet, in cause of technological interference (whether EMP or otherwise),it's one of the many reasons why we still are trained on hand signals and maintain equipment that can be used without electricity or radio waves. As an example, I was 68K (MOS call number) Medical Laboratory Technician. In case of tech interference, we maintained ice in the lab to keep blood, reagents, etc at the proper temperature just in case the refrigerators failed. We also were trained to use hand cranked centrifuges so we could still perform testing if anything happened to our conventional ones. Hope my long ass comment helped! Heart your faces! Dink, Dink! 😘😘😘

So a zozo story; when I was like 13 years old (about a decade ago), my friends and I played with a ouija board and got z and o repeatedly and nothing else, we thought nothing of it at the time because we had no idea who or what zozo is. One of the guys involved actually admitted to deliberately pushing it but he too had no knowledge of "zozo". Leads me to believe that ouija boards work subconsciously through the participants, i.e; they are actively pushing it but their choices about where the planchette moves to are persuaded by something else, perhaps without them even being aware.
@andrearupe60357 жыл бұрын
Damien John ooooo, cool theory :3
@lauren-ym3lb6 жыл бұрын
I️ know this is old, however this is what i have been told (and personally believe) the board actually does. It’s just an outlet for said ghosts to effect and control the people participating in the game. It’s an interesting concept and is a widely believed! Hope this makes sense, Dink Dink ! ✌️
@alexthehamster45646 жыл бұрын
Damien John You know how apparently ghosts and shit are mainly attracted to kids, or even teens because they're more vulnerable? Well, I've used a Ouija Board about 3 times (at most) in the last few years, none of which did the planchette move. The last Ouija Board experience I had where the pointer did its magic was when I was in the eighth grade, which to me is really weird because why hadn't it worked any time after that? Yeah, maybe someone was moving it, but considering the people I did it with, they wouldn't fake that shit. Idk, Ouija Boards still remain strange to me.
@queenofeverything7816 жыл бұрын
Wow that’s actually a good theory about how ouija boards work.

Ouija boards were originally a party game in the 1890s for people to mess around like admitting someone has a crush on someone else. This occult and spiritual shit came later. I'm letting my skeptic brain out and ruining the fun so I'm sorry.

this is kind of unrelated but i think you guys may find this interesting, so i recently moved to a small town in NY, i moved here probably about 4 mouths ago with my mom, my sister, and my grandma, my sister is going to collage here, but, my sister cant drive (she has bad eyes plus anxiety so its best if she doesnt drive anywhere) so myself and my mom drive her back and forth everyday, dropping her off in the morning and going to pick her but at night, now my house has a lake on it, this lakes water is COMPLETELY black, like so dark you cant see the bottom even thought is not that deep, even the water that comes out shower, sink, hoes etc is black, not as black as the lake but still black, the water isnt dangerous, but weird, its also weirdly... thick, like when jello isnt completely done, but away, one night, myself and my mom were driving to go get my sister, when this thing jumped into the woods while we were pulling away from the house, it was only there for a few seconds but i swear to all thing holy or other wise it was real, it wasnt an animal because it "ran" on its back legs, it was small, about as tall as a 6 year old kid but it was thin, REALLY thin, kind of like a grey hound, not starved but with no meat on its bones, so i guess lean is the right word, i remember it had nipples (i have no idea why i remember that i just do) only two of them so it wasnt any kind of animal, its skin was a weird color to, grey, almost white, i dont "remember" what its face looked like even thought i remember looking at its face, but i do remember it looking at me, right at me, not at my mom or the car at me, i remember kind of freezing in place not from fear or shock but just freezing. the way it moved was odd to, when it moved it didnt walk, or run, it kind of... danced, it was so inhuman, but not animal ether, my mom hit the breaks instantly, but by that time it was gone and we were to freaked out to leave the car, so we just went about our night, this whole place (town, my house, the people) feels weird, it doesnt feel bad just odd, its hard to explain, i personally love where i live (even thought little grey guy freaked me out) i understand you may think im lying about all of this (and thats fine, i get this story is a little hard to believe) but this community is pretty open mined so i hope some of you get what i was saying, or have had simpler excrescence.

I saw the Ogopogo with my dad, he saw it too. Its basically Canadas Lochness monster... I tried to get a picture of it but it came out so blurry. My Dad and I watched it until it disapeared and then a boat a far distance away circled back, as if it saw it and was trying to follow... The quarts idea blows my mind a little bit because i always believed they lived in deep underwater caves and traveled to other locations to eat, go up for air, etc. and considering the wormhole idea could even explain their existence. The Lochness resembles a dinosaur that used to exist, what if this dinosaur is coming through a wormhole to our time?? Crazy shit man i love conspiracies 😄
@pumpkingirlmcmillan7 жыл бұрын
in Canada we have our own version of the lochness monster, named Ogopogo. Ogopogo sightings have been reported for hundreds of years, dating way way to natives, and is still seen today. okanagan lake (the lake where ogopogo lives) is a long, deep, fairly narrow lake. i dont know its quartz level, but i was talking about this with my dad the other day, and although there are some more popular ones than others, there are reportedly a ton of these creatures all across Canada (possibly around the world but idk). ogopogo is also my towns mascot, so thats cool

You know what I would do in case of an EMP? Get seeds, plants, lanterns, and blankets. make room for a wood fire outside of my house. I live two houses over from a river and you can sanitize your own water. Create a food source in the garden, plant certain things that can be regrown with little effort and in most conditions. If everyone does that for themselves then we won't have to worry about running out of resources. Also exercise regularly (despite the lack of showers) so there's less chance of sickness. There are probably holes in this plan but fuck it, you gotta start somewhere.

It was in 1999 and I had just graduated Navy boot camp and was living in Navy barracks to finish up some more training before getting my first set of orders. It was the weekend and I was walking through the hallway of the barracks when someone called out to me from their room asking if I'd like to try the ouija board. I was raised with a healthy fear of it, but barracks life was boring and I decided to try it out. I sat down at a kitchen table with a friend with a few other folks standing around watching. To my astonishment, the planchette moved when we asked questions ( it felt really cool, like, it felt like it hovered ever so slightly on a cushion of air). I started with some very easy questions, to which it was able answer (I was pretty amazed that this thing was working). I decided to get a little tricky with my questions, so I wrote down my girlfriend's name "Tammy" for everyone in the room to see and then asked the ouija "what is the name of my girlfriend". It spelled "I" "S" "E" "E" "I" T". I SEE IT! Because I had wrote it down! At that moment, the whole vibe in the room changed as we backed away from the table in shock! But....we scooted back in. We asked the ouija it's name and that's when it started rapidly spelling "Z" "O" "Z" "O" "Z" "O". We asked, "Your name is ZOZO?" "YES". Then we asked "How old are you" and that's when it started to rapidly move in the figure eight motion. I knew from math class that the symbol for infinity is the figure eight, so I asked "Are you infinite?" "YES". By now, I am 100% convinced that something is in the room watching us.....interacting with us. I asked if it knew Jesus and the ouija broke out into a cuss filled rant, basically telling me to "F*ck Off" and F*ck You". Now, because I was going to receive my first set of Navy orders the next day, I asked the Ouija where I would receive orders to and it spelled out "HI"......That was the only answer that it gave that I could not figure out, until the next day! I was sitting in my Navy class and everyone received a copy of their orders. Everyone went to either California or Japan except for me, I was the only one to get orders to Hawaii - abbreviation: "HI".....just as the ouija had said. I was completely spooked. Fast forward about five months and I am now in my new barracks on Pearl Harbor Hawaii. Again, it was the weekend and I am walking down the hallway and walked passed a room where there's some people sitting on the floor, in the dark and one of the girls is in tears. I noticed that they were huddled around a ouija board. (I had never had an encounter with a ouija board and now I come across it twice) This time, I just kept walking! The next morning, I am outside my barracks getting some fresh air and that same girl....the girl that was in tears the night before walks up to me with a worried face and asks me "is your name Abel?" "Yes it is!" Then she tells me this "We were playing with a Ouija board last night and it told us to find you to tell you that your deceased mother says hello". (my mother passed away years ago). About 15 years after this whole thing took place, I did my first research into ZOZO on the Internet. I was so amazed that people had very similar experiences with ZOZO! I was already convinced that my experience with this entity was real, but when I read that other people were experiencing ZOZO, I was just amazed!

if the wormhole theory is true, it'd make a lot of sense. a lot of people view nessie as a monster but really its just like a plesiosaurus. maybe those wormholes came from the past and the loch ness monster is really just a dinosaur that time traveled.
@laceospades7 жыл бұрын
Hey Jenna and Julien, I have some questions for you that maybe you could explore for the part 2 of the Loch Ness theory (which I love btw. Mind=blown): 1. Why does it seem to be only the one creature that makes it through the worm hole? 2. Why isn't there herds of creatures coming through? 3. Why does it never stay, and knows when to leave? 4. What pressure is causing the the Quartz to react? Earthquakes? Alright, now I'm going to go crawl in a hole, and curl up, and die while waiting for EMPs.

I remember when I learned about the Lochness monster, that was the first time I heard the word Tulpa. Apparently (*I don’t know if I’m correct but this is how it was explained to me) a Tulpa is a creature that has been talked about and envisioned so much by SO MANY people that it ACTUALLY becomes real. I read some stories about Tulpas and there was one where these spiritualists got together in a cabin and spent most of their time meditating about a small short tubby man- thinking of the most plain thing they could think of lol -and after a few months of him fading in and out of their minds- he began to materialize inside of the cabin before their very eyes. Once they left the cabin they saw him staring out at them with a gracious smile. I am a firm believer that what we believe we can create- but yeah that shit blew my mind. I could imagine with all that energy and all that belief from so many people that the lochness and the Sasquatch and maybe even some demons could be real now. All those decades of people searching for these creatures , knocking at that mysterious door, well something finally knocked back so to speak. So yeah I could totally see that happening.

This is why its important to keep older cars around. If you have a car that was made in the 60's-70's you're golden when it comes to EMP type situations. There are a few trucks that are military grade but cool to have, that are made in the 80's that would survive an EMP. We have three vehicles with just my husband and I and one is a military grade truck made in 86 that we keep for emergencies. Made really well and will last for many years to come.
@marydangerrdodge4 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I also think its important to say that my husband and I don't make a ton of money to be able to afford three vehicles. We find them on craigslist and pay cash and that's it. No car payments. It's not hard to have one set aside for an emergency situation where you need a vehicle to get you through a major weather disaster, an EMP or otherwise.

Hi Jenna, I have a ouija board at home that I used in the past but was unable to contact any other spirits or what have you after the board began to only spell Zozo, Zaza, Zeze, Zi, etc. I haven't touched it much since this entity, demon or whatever you want to call it began to do everything you are talking about. it would start off telling me that it was a teenage girl or a little boy and then after tricking me for ten minutes or so it would go back to spelling Zozo etc. I have experienced the palchette making figure eights, trying to fly off the board, drawing symbols etc. The weirdest part is that this entity seems strong and I feel like it forces you to move the palchette extremely fast. I have had brief periods of time where I feel like I cannot take my fingers off of the palchette and do nothing but stare at the board like I am hypnotize by the back and forth motion of it spelling various forms of its name. I haven't personally experienced bad luck or anything demonic but it has def. stopped me from using it for a while.

Living in the south we kind of live in a state of preparation for days long power outages (its a matter of "when" not "if" it happens. We keep battery operated lanterns, oil lanterns, candles, BOARD games & cards, and keep a stocked canned food pantry. Dry food is important because not only did the grocery store not have power to refrigerate foods BUT due to the extensive damage delivery trucks did not have a means to get TO the store. Now we always keep gallons of water on hand in addition to all our other efforts.

@phlubdub2 жыл бұрын
The property in quartz you are talking about it called piezoelectricity. If you put physical pressure on it (squeeze it) it creates a small electric field around the length of the crystal perpendicular to the applied force. ALSO it works the other way where you apply a voltage through a quartz crystal the atoms tense up as if a physical force was being applied to it. Because of this quartz was used a lot in early radios and circuits before that technology was super advanced like it is today.

You guys are the best. I was physically assaulted by my uncle yesterday and the police can't do anything about it because of technicalities. These podcasts are my escape each week, but even more so today. Thank you for always making me laugh. I love you dink fam ❤️

An EMP is when the Amish thrive. I've also noticed that when Julien gets afraid or spooked he totally disengages.

Dissociation gang lmao
@tamagotchi79894 жыл бұрын
mmalove98 thats not what that means at all. disengaging is basically not interacting. dissociating is completely disconnecting from yourself, your memories, emotions, surroundings, and it can leave you very confused

@@tamagotchi7989 I know what dissociation is.. It was hyperbole

I bet Jenna remembers about 10 years ago when the entire northeast electric grid went down. I lived in Ohio at the time and the power was out for 8 hours on the hottest day in August.

Elvisneedsboats Bennett I remember this so vividly because I was at my mothers house that summer, she was out of town and it was me and a few of my brothers friends so they were all having a great time playing candlelit beer pong (lol) and I was so violently sick and had a fever of 106 at one point and literally thought I was going to die. It was probably the most uncomfortable I've ever been in my life and they kept coming upstairs and drunk checking on me and I was like. Fam. Fam I'm gonna die fam. Fuck that whole time.

I was also in Ohio and I was sitting in a hair salon with bleach on my head when the power went out. My hairdresser, who I had met that day, drove me home several hours later lol. Quite the experience!
