My friends dad passed away when we were around 12. He coached us in softball and our dads were best friends. About a year later her brother had a daughter who is now 5 years old. About a year ago she had this imaginary friend who liked looking at all of my friends stuff ( writings, papers, trophies, pictures) so her niece would take stuff into her moms bed room Her mom would ask what she was song and she would reply “ Jackson wants to see what Hannah is up to” her mom then asked if Jackson was young like her and she replied “no he’s old like you” when her mom asked what he looked like her niece pointed at a picture of Hannah’s dad with all of Hannah’s stuff laying around the picture. Her mom instantly started crying because she knew how much her husband would have loved his grand daughter. A couple months later my friends Hannah went away to college, all of a sudden her niece stopped talking about her imaginary friend. Her mom asked her one day how Jackson was and she replied “ he’s good he’s in Pittsburgh” ( which is where Hannah went to college) When Hannah would come home for winter break or weekends her niece would start talking about Jackson again and when she would go back to school she wouldn’t talk about him.

My grandpa always liked to have the pillows on the couch facing down rather than sitting upright. My grandma liked them the other way. He would always move them down and her back up and so on and so on. Our whole family picked sides on the pillow up vs. pillow down battle, I also liked them down and helped my grandpa whenever he saw they were up. When he passed my grandma went to put the pillows upright before she went to sleep that night and when she woke up the pillows were down again. She kept doing it and they kept falling down again until about a year ago she stopped putting the pillows up anymore. Whenever I’m over I still put the pillows back up and they always fall down before I leave. I think it's kind of cool that he still want to let us know he's there and hanging out but he does it in a way that still makes us all smile and laugh thinking of fun times we had with him rather than a scary way.

Not necessarily a ghost story, but shows that there are so many things we dont understand yet. My husband gets "feelings" of something being wrong, it only happens with those that are closest to him. Family, me, a couple friends and is always something big. It doesnt happen often and the biggest one was 4th of July around 3 am a couple years ago. He woke up, woke me up and started calling everyone in his family to find out what happened. His step brother had killed himself in front of his brother. Another time was when I had a miscarriage, he was working out of state, I wasn't very far along, 6 weeks. He called me early in the morning saying he felt that I was hurt or in trouble, I got out of bed and the second I stood up I started cramping and bleeding. His mom also has some crazy stories of things happening like this, like when we first got together he didnt tell her he was seeing anyone. One night we were being intimate and we both had this feeling of intense love for each other, I cant even explain how it felt. At that moment, the lights turned on. We were the only ones there, the switch was still in the off position, but the light was on. The next day his mom called him saying she woke up in the middle of the night feeling like he had found happiness and she didnt have to worry about him. It isnt explainable and honestly if I hadn't been there I wouldn't believe it.

I totally understand. My husband and I both get those kinds of “feelings”. Crazy thing is that neither of us knew about each other’s “feelings” until after we got married.

Something similar happens to me. Like I’ll bring thinking about something bad or something, and something around that happens. When I realized I did things like that was when I was feeling depressed/suicidal and a few hours after that I heard about a man in Oregon who stole a plane, crashed it, and killed himself. It happened the same time I felt depressed, I didn’t find out until a few hours later. Most recently, I found myself thinking about Cameron Boyce a day or two later, he’s found dead. I never think anything bad is going to happen, I just think about something similar to that

This could possibly be a really touchy subject, but my dad and I were watching a movie one day in theaters, and I looked at him and said “we’re gonna get shot” now obviously, he freaked out and asked what was going on to make me think that, and I told him that I saw “visions” (I hate calling them that) of people running and hiding and diving over their loved ones to save them. He calmed me down and we watched the rest of the movie, and when we got home my mom said “there was just a mass shooting in ____” I’m not going to say what shooting it was, or where it was, because then it becomes personal to a lot of people and I don’t want to be insensitive about it, but I will say that it was far before the recent mass shootings. This shooting happened over 1,000 miles away from where I was living at the time, and there was no way for me to know anything that was going on at the same time as I was talking to my dad.

I get weird dreams like premonitions. For a week I was having dreams about a plane crashing, but I was never on them I was just nearby where it crashed and I had to go help and see the dead/injured people. I was telling my psychiatrist and she said maybe it was my pills screwing with my dreams so I changed it up and the night I didn’t have a dream a plane crashed at an airport an hour away from my house. I still get really nervous when I see a plane go by.

And add in an "I love you" as well :) no matter when you choose to speak to your dad, he will hear you. He may not always be able to reply, but you will feel a rush of comfort and warmth, or cold, when he is near. Definitely try it next time, I've done it with my grandma, and God before. Except with God, it's a comfortable warmth and tingling-safe feeling all over you. You also feel like your slightly floating, but with your physical body, not astrally. I've only had this experience once, and it was during a very hard time in my life. You could try asking God for comfort and see if you feel anything, do it with your eyes closed and my mind clear and open.

I have schizophrenia and I see things sometimes, and I was explaining it to my friend once to which they just said, "What if it's not in your head and you're actually seeing things from other dimensions?" So, I don't know, it'd be an interesting theory that people that are deemed "crazy" are just experiencing other worlds and can't explain how. or it really is just their brain. either or.
@yma0evelyn5 жыл бұрын
See, I think the mentally ill are just massive receptors for the paranormal as the mind is cracked wide open and on high alert. Then again, my favourite saying is that the beauty of paranoia is that if you look hard enough you can always find it. So you could also say that someone is looking for it especially with schizophrenia as people usually feel like they are chosen or have magic powers. I don't know, but I really think your comment is incredibly thought-provoking.
@Faith_Soprano5 жыл бұрын
I explored this in one of the stories I wrote a while back. There was a character who had anxiety, but (this is a fanfic that's happening in Halloween Town, by the way, so there's magic and stuff) his mother suggested that his anxiety might be premonitions about bad things that would actually happen, maybe to people he didn't know, maybe somewhere else, where he can't prevent it or even see it happen, but he feels it, and it manifests in unsubstantiated worry. And maybe some people with mental illness are perceptive and some aren't, and there's no way to tell which is which. But I do often think it's possible that hallucinations caused by mental illness might just be things from another universe. And in a way, it still means your brain is broken, in the sense that it's picking up on things it's not supposed to, but it might not be random, it might just exist elsewhere.
@captainsugar80415 жыл бұрын
I have schizophrenia too and seeing things makes me think is this real or is this some random thing in my head? I'd love to just be seeing things from a different world or dimension and if I hear things it's from a different reality! It'd make me feel a lot better T_T

I had something kind of similar happen to me. My grandmom died when I was nine years old and on the night she died I slept in my parents room because I was so upset (I had been so close with my grandmom). I remember I was lying on my back when I felt a hard press on my cheek, like a finger poking me in the face (hard enough that I knew it was real, not something I dreamed or imagined). Weirdly, I remember not being able to sit up or even open my eyes as it was happening (it lasted about one or two seconds, though it felt much longer). After it stopped, I sat up in the bed and looked around the room. Both of my parents were asleep and the door was shut, so it couldn't have been my cat. The thing I remember most though is that I wasn't that scared, just confused. I've also never had another experience like this one, so that's why I think it was my grandmom.

Nothing to do with ghosts but along the line to being starred at. One night, I was sleeping and probably like 5am I woke up but kept my eye shut because I woke up with the feeling of being stared at. My heart was racing really fast because I knew that if I opened my eyes, I would see something like a ghost or person staring at me, so I decided to and I opened my eyes and my dog was there, dead staring me in the face like "beech wake up, I gotta pee" I jumped when I saw him and he then got excited to see me awake. as a teenager, i worked at a place called the "Octagon Hall," in my hometown. it's literally built with 8 sides, hence the name. It's a historical building, and it was used mostly during the Civil War. to summarize the most well known legend of the Hall, the legend goes that a little girl accidentally caught her dress on fire in the basement of the Hall and burned to death on the floor of the basement. awful story, i know. there's more to it, but basically she has widely seen around the plantation ever since by any visitors, and especially occupants of the Hall until its foundation as a historical site in 2001. visitors also claim (and show photographic evidence) of seeing these orb things, like all the time. i'm super skeptical through. anyways, they used to have a "Haunted Hall," every October throughout the month, and I worked as part of that event, shaking doors or hiding underneath hoop skirts and shaking the mannequins when guests walked in the room. very small, not super scary stuff. it was meant for even little kids to walk through as well, they sold hot cocoa before the tour, etc. etc. well one night as we were all packing up to leave, probably around midnight, i had to walk back down to the basement alone to grab something i left (i can't remember anymore, i think it was a drink or something), and i turned the light switch off as i was about to leave the room, and i heard a sharp shattering sound and a clunk. i'm used to people playing jokes in the house, as we're all there to scare people and have fun. i also hate darkness and being alone in the dark, etc, so i turned the light back on, and turned around. on the floor was a picture frame, the glass completely shattered. at first, i knew someone had to be in the room and like, threw it as i was leaving. apparently someone from above heard the noise as well, and entered the basement room as i started looking around the room myself. we both looked and found no one. in the picture frame was a news clipping of a story about the little girl. the feeling i felt when i knelt down and read the title of that clipping, through the broken glass, has never left me.

from what I've understood there's two main types of ghost hauntings. There's intelligent hauntings and then there's residual hauntings. Intelligent hauntings are the first theory you guys were talking about where its a real person's spirit and they are actively and intelligently interacting with living people. Like the little boy and the bed story. Residual hauntings are like the second theory you guys were talking about where the energy of certain events still lingers in an area. So like hearing a typewriter where a writer used to live, or a scream where someone was murdered. They aren't in response to anyone else they just happen.

Jenna is 100% accurate in her description of living in a place that is haunted. I lived in an old brick house in rural Kentucky that my ex and I were positive was haunted. The first night, I left to go pick up a pizza and came home to my ex who said he had an uneasy feeling that he wasn't alone the whole time I was gone. I wrote it off as him being overdramatic . While he was gone at work, I'd play music on my Bluetooth speaker, and I thought I was going crazy cuz I thought I could hear voices talking behind my music. As if it were radio interference or something. I'd put my ear up to it or turn it down trying to figure it out, but I just felt like I was being paranoid. Certain areas of the house felt off, and I always felt like I was being watched or someone was there with me. One day I was sitting in the living room on the recliner reading a book. All of a sudden the smell of rotten eggs seemed to waft passed me out of no where. I opened up the windows to smell if it was something coming from outside, but nothing. I had just taken the trash out, and there was no bad smell coming from or in the kitchen. I was confused, and kind of creeped out but I sat back down. Then a loud bang came from another room. I had no idea what it was and sat there with my mouth hanging open in fear. I even complained to the empty house that now I had to go figure out what that was and I was freaked TF out. Every room seemed in place except for the damn back room. That was one of the rooms that gave me the creeps. The pantry closet was back there, the door was swung open w the light turned on (we always closed and turned the light off if we weren't in the pantry) and a wire rack that had been on the back of the door was on the floor. I freaked out. Put my jacket on and left the house. Later on we tried to see how easy it would be for the rack to fall off on its own, and it was impossible without someone physically pulling it off... My ex also said he saw shadows move and heard something whisper his name. We moved out after only three months mostly because the job market sucked down there, but I'm glad because I living in that house scared me lol.

Omg, I've had the same experience when my cat died too back in 2015. I was going to sleep and I lay on my side with my legs slightly bent and I felt him jump on the bed and lay right at my legs where they are bent. The thing is he ALWAYS did that when he knew I was going to sleep to sleep with me when he was alive and I just never knew that anyone else had a similar experience to mine. Ive also felt the same safe and warm feeling when I knew it was him, but I do kinda miss the feeling of him jumping on my bed to lay down.

That’s what happened with my dog. She died and I was (and still am devastated). I heard her nails on the floor, saw her walk over to the foot of my bed and then lay down in her usual spot. I cried every time I felt this because I missed her so much and I knew she was still with me.

My best friend died of cancer when we he was 12 years old and I was 9. About a week after he died, I was crying looking at my collection of cards that we used to collect when the binder was slapped out of my hands and I heard running down the hallway outside of my room. I knew that that was my friend telling me to cheer up and that everything would be alright. Idk how, but I knew it him. Swear on Peachy

I kinda have a similar experience too. A few weeks after my dog died, I heard tippy tippy toeing sounds that dog claws make when they're walking on a wooden floor (which my house has). The sound grew louder and louder and then I felt it was right beside me. For some reason my head firmly believes that that was the spirit of my dog. I burst into tears and said "hi boy how are you" and I felt this warm feeling in my heart. Not long after I felt like whatever was there with me left. I felt better from that day on.

FaithKomTrikru I also have similar stories, When my grandma died we had knocks and door bells ringing for like a week and we have no explanation but my entire family assumes that is was her, and when my dogs died we would have their toys missing for days then show up ripped. And also my dad’s grandma (I never met her but it’s his story) supposedly called his mom (my dead grandma about the story above) after dying on Mother’s Day like she did every year

When I was younger, my dad died. My younger brother was about 7 years old at the time and he would sleep in my mom and dad’s bed. One night when he was sleeping there, he looked over to my dad’s empty side of the bed and saw the silhouette of my dad sleeping there. This was very soon after he had passed. I think his spirit was hanging out with us for awhile before he crossed over.

Why is everyone saying that Jenna's story was sleep paralysis?? It was clearly not. In order to experience sleep paralysis you have to fall asleep first. Then you have a nightmare and you can't get out of it for some time, 'cause your whole body is tense and you can't move. But Jenna never felt asleep before seeing the cross. She literally said that, she thought her friend was sleeping but she didn't fall asleep at all before seeing the cross or feeling the bed sink down And also her friend saw the cross too
@jessicafillion34896 жыл бұрын
problem there is I for example was on an antidepressant at one point that gave me sleep paralysis along with some other unsettling symptoms (i personally don't recommend viibryd, seen a lot of people fucked up by it lmao). I had one experience that was a form of sleep paralysis in the end but it started in this weird sort of half asleep-half awake state where i felt conscious but i had forms of hallucinations and didn't realize when i fully fell asleep because i started out in this strange middle state so hers could be explained with something like that, hence why she could have still seen something actually there, but i'm not discrediting either, just a possibility. So others suggesting sleep paralysis may not be completely wrong but it's something else that may sometimes go in hand with it.
@alyssacross56105 жыл бұрын
well i’ve definitely had sleep paralysis when i thought i wasn’t sleeping, i could swear that i was awake the entire time then all the sudden i can’t move and am seeing a shadow standing in the corner of my room. so i think that’s its possible that even tho she swears she was awake it still could be sleep paralysis, ive read other people’s accounts too saying they don’t remember even falling asleep.

My mother told me a story that happened to her, she used to work in her father's furniture store and one man that worked there was the nicest man she ever met. But out of no where he turned. He was mean, cruel. Well one day she walked into the back room where he was and she immediately felt like someone else was there and when he turned around his eyes were completely black. Years later when she was reading the news paper ( she still has the article) he was in the paper for killing multiple people and then himself.

also I had an "imaginary friend" when I was very young that I would talk to all night, wake up and walk around with all night, play with everyday, and my parents saw a figure with me all the time. It was the only time in my life that I slept walked. And when we left that house, I said bye to my friend and never talked to it again. But I never said it was an imaginary friend. I remember seeing my toys playing with me. I never had an imaginary friend, like, it didn't feel fake to me, and it didn't have a name, it was just there with me, playing, talking, and walking with me. Amazing to think about. I also have several picture of me in that house with LARGE White orbs floating next to me.
@hollytyler67808 жыл бұрын
Also in the last house that I lived in with my parents before I moved out, there was a VERY troubled woman that lived there. The first day that we moved in a I was walking in the kitchen and a woman got right in my ear and very loudly said my name! In like a hushed yell! After that, I'd hear our piano playing itself, it was in the dinning room right by the kitchen. And I'd see a woman walking in the hall coming out of the kitchen. I never felt comfortable in that house alone, I was constantly going outside to try and get away from her. She was trying to talk to me. My dad had seen her too, on several occassions, he even heard her crying lots of times. She was sad, wore dark clothing, and very much made her/it's presence aware to us.

Happy Hippy Holly I wonder what she was trying to tell you. She knew your name and really wanted your attention, some times it's for a reason. Also what made her so sad. Never tried one personally, and don’t plan to, but you must always make it abundantly clear that you are there respectfully and peacefully, but they are not welcome to use you as a portal. You also must sign out, as jenna said, or you leave that open. Even by storing a board incorrectly, with the planchet on top, you can open yourself to very scary things. Wouldn’t particularly recommend messing with stuff like that.

This started when I first moved into my current house. I had two cats that were quite mischievous. My bedroom is at the bottom of the stairs that leads to my attic, and at the very top of the stairs is a half circle window. Every night I'd hear shifting upstairs and the moonlight from the window would shake as the cats ran by covering it. Eventually my kitties passed away (at the good age of 19 years). I cried all day but as I walked to my bedroom that night I saw the light of the half circle window shake, as if something had ran in front of it. I could hear faint shuffling beyond the steps. I've never had an overwhelming threatening feeling as I stood at the bottom of the stairs, but instead a feeling of peace and relief. Is this my kitties? I don't know. But I feel that it is a safe spirit that doesn't wish any harm.

Cermets War Flashbacks this happened with my kitty. Every night before he died, he’d jump up at the end of my bed want walk over to my face. For about a month or two after he died, I felt that multiple times a week at night. It started happening less and less over time, and I started feeling less emotional over it when it happened and accepted it and eventually would smile to myself when it happened. then last year it happened one more time and I remember suddenly being extremely overcome with grief and sadness and then it felt like thought “this is the last time, isn’t it?” was being forced into my head. I cried a lot shortly after then never felt it again. I used to feel his spirit and our connection when i looked at old pictures of him, but ever since that last time a year ago, I feel this sort of... thick foggy unbreakable glass emotional wall when I look at his pictures. I still love and miss him, but looking at him feels like something is extremely void now. I think now that that last time was quite literally the last time his spirit “energy” or whatever it was existed :( Tl;dr, I definitely believe animals can have ghosts and believe you!!!

OH MY GOD!!! I had a so called "imaginary friend" when I was like around 3-5 that I swear on my life that I could see!!! It was a little girl around 4-5 years old that had brown hair and always wore it in two braids and had these almost white eyes. I lived by a lake and it was said that a little girl drowned in a lake in like 1950 something. The fact that I swear I could see her and we had physical contact but no one else could see her, then one day she just disappeared. The craziest part is her name was Justine, and the girl who died her name was Justine!! Could all kids imaginary friends not be imaginary at all? Could they be ghosts? I was talking to a ghost for like 5 years of my life!!! Now it makes sense the fact I saw her and so vividly remember everything about her appearance is crazy. And I am convinced that Justine has followed me because weird things happen all the time, nothing too scary but just things that can't be explained like things moving around always feeling watched lights flickering etc. One time I did a OUIJI board and the spirit I contacted was a little girl named Justine and get this she drowned in a lake. my theory is that Justine never disappeared in the literal sense at all my brain just matured and I now can't see her but she is still her, I feel her presence and how else could I explain all the weird stuff that happens in my life. I have one answer its Justine I'm sure of it. Does anyone else have these experiences? I hope so, because I feel crazy saying this.

Grace Martin I know this is a year old but hopefully you see this. Children are naive. They’re more open to paranormal energy such as ghosts bc they’re not aware that they have to be guarded. I 100% believe in ghosts. Im very sensitive and empathetic. Im like a beginner psychic as well. I haven’t tuned my abilities at all I’ve just had these abilities since I was little. I can easily tell when people are lying. I can tell how people really feel. I’ve had deja vu dreams since I was in middle school. Anyway lol, children are the most open to ghosts. Adults are super guarded so we have a harder time seeing them. And to see an apparition is super rare and there’s a lot of energy in that area. Normally they’re balls of light or shadows
@just_alice8446 жыл бұрын
Grace Martin to be honest I would speak to her. I know it might sound weird but you can tell her to stop and ask her if she’s willing to talk to you or get you attention in a different way. Like try and ask her to write. Just like Jenna said with the boy. Leave a crayon and paper. Ask her to draw a picture, see if she’s still your friend. But tell her you won’t always give her your attention.

I've had one paranormal experience. It's similar to Jenna's camp story, but happened over the course of about a week. Backstory: There is a bedroom closet in my parent's house that always had a strange vibe which we all noticed, even the cats. One of the cats would actually go into the closet occasionally and spray (mind you she was a spayed female who never displayed territorial behaviors, and this was the only place she ever did this). I'm not sure if there was a portal of some kind located there or what the deal was, but there was definitely a negative energy in that closet. The weirdness began for me one night when I was in my bedroom, listening to music or reading, whatever nighttime activity I did when I was 11 or 12. My bedroom door was closed, as usual. Now, the door didn't fit the door frame correctly; it needed to be slammed in order to stay closed or pulled very hard to be opened, all while making a lot of noise. So it was odd when I looked up and saw the door was suddenly open, and I had not heard the hinges squeaking or the wood scraping the frame. It was weird, but I dismissed it and went about my night. The same thing happened a few nights later, but this time I actually saw the door opening. By itself. No one was in the hallway, there was no sound, and the knob had not turned. I was a bit creeped out that time, so I got up and closed the door, making sure to slam it shut. Later that night, as I was lying in bed, I felt a pressure on the end of the mattress, just like what Jenna said she felt, as if someone had sat down. I glanced down toward my feet but saw nothing. So I went to sleep. For the next few nights, I felt this weight at the foot of the bed, and it felt like someone was staring at me. The cats started to avoid my bedroom, even the spayed female (the closet sprayer) who slept beside me most of the time. One night, the pressure suddenly moved. I was lying on my back, and I felt the weight lift off the mattress; then it returned, on top of my shins. Then it stepped to my thighs. By then, I was hiding my head beneath the blankets, afraid to look. Finally, I felt the weight shift to my chest. It felt like a large bird was perched on top of me - not heavy, but definitely substantial, enough to limit my breathing a bit. The weight sat on my chest for several minutes. When I finally pulled together enough courage to pull the covers down from my eyes for a peek, I immediately wished I hadn't. I will never, for the rest of my life, ever forget the face that I saw staring at me, mere inches from my face. The first thing I saw were the eyes: saucer-like, bright red, like huge blood-filled marbles, with tiny black pinpoint pupils. No irises to speak of, just giant red orbs with a dot of black in the middle. The next thing I noticed was the mouth: merely a slit across the face, twice as wide as a normal human person's, with no lips. There was also no protruding nose, just a couple of holes for nostrils (the 2nd movie version of Voldemort is the closest thing I've seen to this feature, kind of snakelike). The skin was sallow, a kind of greyish color, with a mottled looking texture. The head was large, very round, and hairless, and it sat on a tiny, child-sized body. And it was on top of me. Staring into my eyes. Inches from my nose. That image is burned into my brain forever. After what felt like an eternity (but was probably just a few seconds), I found the strength to move. I flung the blankets off, tore through the house, screaming for my mother. I slept in my parents' room for the next week. My mother told me to command the thing away, that it would have to obey me. So I did. When I felt brave enough to return to my bedroom, I announced out loud that the spirit or entity needed to leave, it was not welcome, this is my room, not its own. One day soon after, I saw the door open by itself again, soundlessly and without force. But this time, it closed. I believe that the spirit left and returned to the evil-feeling closet, from whence I think it probably came. The cats started hanging out in my room again, and I never felt an invisible weight on my bed ever again. And I hope I never do.

LizzleLikesCats I've done some reading on sleep paralysis, this sounds almost exactly like it aside from the door and closet stuff you mentioned. I've had it before however I've never seen anything. Also I'm more prone to nightmares and sleep paralysis if I end up sleeping on my back, it's the weirdest thing! I'm sorry you experienced this. When I got sleep paralysis, I felt something press down on my chest and head but I couldn't move. Before that I thought I had heard my mom walk up the stairs to wake me up for school but this happened an hour before anyone was awake. I believe sleep paralysis is slightly paranormal because cross culturally the same creature you described has been reported throughout history!
@cheetosandyogurt8 жыл бұрын
That's so weird! But yes, I've considered that it could be related to sleep paralysis. But I've never had any other issues like that, and the other non-sleep time stuff doesn't add into that equation... So idk, hard to say it could have been related to any one thing. But I never did too much research into it, and it's very interesting that other cultures have stories about something similar. Maybe some sort of alien or creature from humanity's history that we all instinctively fear.... Maybe one day I will look into that further lol

when i was about 8 years old me and my cousins were playing hide and seek on the second floor of my house, my two cousins went to hide whilst I counted, pretty quickly i found one of them and then we went looking for Matthew, we go into one of the spare rooms in our house, where there is literally only a giant wardrobe up against one of the walls, suddenly I sense this really weird energy in the room and I know Alex feels it too cause he's gone real quite. Neither of us move to open it. We both start yelling at this wardrobe, "Matthew get out of the wardrobe, we found you, just get out", still neither of us move. Then we hear this banging from inside the door. And again we're like "Matthew get out, you're freaking us out, we found you, we win, get out of the wardrobe" It bangs again, it sounds like someones knocking from the inside. I'm verging on tears, I can tell Alex is freaked out too, we yell again. Then Matthew walks into the room like "whats going on why are you yelling?" Both me and Alex start screaming and run out of room, we leg it downstairs and tell my parents what happened. My dad convinces me to show him this 'haunted' wardrobe, we go up there and the fucking wardrobe door is open. to this day i still don't know if someone was in there and just fucking with us but i dont know who it couldve been cause there was no one else in the house.

wait this happened to me last week. i was woken up in the middle of the night by my cat screaming downstairs. it was a distressed meow like when she has one of her claws stuck. i called for her a few times and she same sprinting upstairs to my room. i was laying down on my side just petting her to try to calm her down. a couple minutes went by and i was laying on my stomach scrolling through twitter and my cat was laying on my back facing my door (the opposite way i was facing). i couldn’t go right back to sleep bc of the adrenaline rush from thinking my cat was hurt. suddenly i felt my bed sink down beside both sides of my leg. it was like someone was bent over my bed with a hand on either side of my leg, staring at me. at first i was like ok its just my mom, she was probably woken up by my cat. about 20 seconds went by and i still hadn’t turned around to see what was going on. i started freaking out bc i knew if it was my mom she would have said something by now and she wouldn’t just be hovering over me staring. i laid there frozen for another 10 seconds and my bed went back to normal. i thought i had just made it up or something and then it happened again. i was frozen and i felt like i couldn’t breathe. i don’t remember falling asleep but i woke up the next morning kinda out of it. i’ve woken up with scratches and bruises that i have no idea where they came from. i don’t bruise easily so it’s always terrifying when i wake up with a new one.

Jenna, you like reading ghosts stories? Well Dink fam, here is mine. I NEVER believed in ghosts and was incredibly sceptical until I moved into a new flat. I had the same occurring “dream” for the first 3 nights of someone, a male form, sleeping in my bed with me. On the 4th night, I realised that it wasn’t actually a dream. I was completely awake and I could see a dark sort of shape of a person lying with their back to me on my bed. My mind was so incredibly active but I could not for the life of me move. I wanted to reach out and touch the person but I was frozen, kind of like what you were staying about literally being unable to do anything. My heart was going crazy and I was terrified, I managed after about 15 minuets to get up and turn the light on but by that time, the presence was most definitely gone. From that point on I knew there was some sort of spiritual force in my room and sometimes existent in the rest of our house. He likes to slam doors, turn taps on and start sensor fans when no one is there. He has made every single thing apart from one mirror that I’ve put on my wall fall down in the middle of the night. He also every now and then may sleep in my bed with me. Even though it seems terrifying, it’s weirdly not. He is not a negative presence nor does he mean harm. My flat has named him George, ad he just likes to let us know that he’s there. You can always hear him around the house and its weirdly kind of comforting now. Ghosts are definitely real and are around us. I had a positive experience and I don’t know if that’s because I took a positive perspective of it and gave him a life form in my head of a cheeky teenage boy who liked to play jokes or whatever, but I’m now most definitely a believer.

I used to live in this one house, where we literally could've sworn it was haunted. one story includes my mom and my cousin who lived with us downstairs, chilling watching tv at night. Me and my three siblings were all in bed and my dad was in the master bedroom chilling, all of us upstairs besides the other two. My mom and cousin swear to us that they heard one of us crying and walking down the stairs, thinking we had another nightmare, (in that house we had nightmares almost every night) so they went to check and found all of us in bed and sleeping. They kinda shook it off and thought maybe they were just tripping, but the next day my dad asks them who was crying and they like freaked out. Apparently he heard it too, but just didn't go to check because he heard them coming up the stairs.

Ok, I swear on the dink fam that this happened: one time, in the middle of the night, I woke up to my bed (my ENTIRE bed) being shaken like someone was holding onto one of the legs of the bed and was just shaking the hell out of it. I tried to sit up really quickly, but I was only able to lean up really slow. Once I was almost upright, I saw there was a black figure (not very well defined in shape, kind of fluid edges, but pitch black-- not translucent at all-- but as big as a person if the person was doubled over on all fours) beside the foot of my bed. I was frozen with fear as it quickly scrambled toward my bedroom door. The door flung open, and the figure ran out. I-- JUST LIKE JENNA- do not remember going back to bed. I just woke up the next morning and remembered it so vividly that I knew I hadn't dreamed it. And--despite the fact that I ALWAYS sleep with my bedroom door locked-- the door was wide open. This was at least 10 years ago (I'm 27 now, so I must have been around 17), but I remember it like it was yesterday. I've told this story maybe one other time in my life because I know people won't believe me or they'll think I was dreaming. But I am telling you, this happened.

Okay, I'm late to answer to this pod, but why the hell not? I swear on my mother’s lasagna, Julien. (it's my all-time fave food, when we have it, I eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner + late night snack until it's finished) So, I'm not a person that has ever just closed doors to Ideas of things, always had them ajar if you will, very opened minded to things. My best friend, who is an person who has always seen unexplained things and when we would hang out I sort of got used to her saying, midd-movie "there is someone standing in the hallway, can you see it" and I would look and often say "no, who is it? someone we know?" because she had some spirits that came more often than others, now my friend always had the option to become a medium if she wanted to, the friends mothers friends mother or something like that was a medium, someone she (my friend) talked to a lot to get the sense of someone understanding and explaining what was going on. Anyway, we hung out a lot, me and my friend, I consider her a sibling, a family member. Because of this I sort of accepted the part of her that I could not relate to, so much so I think it "rubbed off", I remember the exact day this happened, my friend and I didn't hang out the first day in weeks and I wanted to go for a walk. Now in Sweden, more specific Karlstad (Carls city, direct translation), in the part I live in we have a huge cemetery, now don’t freak out about this it’s very normal to go through it, no cars and a beautiful park landscape, It’s normal where I’m from, so I was walking and listened to music and playing Pokémon go, as one do. I noticed in my peripheral a lot of people in the cemetery, and my mind started to wonder if it was All Hallows Eve, on that weekend we light candles on all the graves and it’s the most amazing thing, but it was summer, not October. And when I looked up, I could not see anything, empty. I shut off the music and turned of the game, because I just wanted to stay focus, remember I had never seen anything before and I really didn’t know what was going on, not like my mind just automatically went to ghosts. So as I continued walking it got easier to sort of focus the shadows and see more clearly, then when I saw the shapes and got close enough, curious as I was, you could feel some stuff about them, like when someone stand behind you in a store que and you know it’s a tall younger man, like that. You just knew it was a older woman, or a baby, not because you saw what they looked like or some shadows was smaller than others, you just got close enough to read the energy. I had never experienced anything like it before, It wasn’t scary at all, they where all very respecting, and I stayed away and took round-abuts to stay clear of places when they made me feel “ichy” so to speak. Leaving the cemetery, I sort of got this heavy thing on my back, like when you walk with friends and they hang on your back, still walking on there own but have their arms over your shoulders. I could not sense, like with the other what it was, just big and dark, I got scared since I was walking home, I didn’t want to bring it there, so I really tried to figure it out as quickly as I could, I was still new at this people, so trying as hard as I could I established a few things, big, dark but not evil, It didn’t seem to want me harm. From the beginning of this I texted my friend like my fingers where burning. She warned me not to bring stuff home, I told her that it does not feel evil, and she said good than it’s probably safe. I didn’t think it would stay with me, I sort of just thought it wanted to check me out. I got home, which was interesting since my instinct kicked in and I automatically said hi towards the kitchen, I had one shoe of before I realized this and looked into the kitchen, an old lady, I was sure and it was irritated that I had left the kitchen uncleaned. I was so tired at this moment that I could not care less, told her I was sorry and I would take care of it after I rested. Went into my guest room where I have my wardrobes since it rained outside so my clothes where wet. Got the sense someone was staring, a younger boy in my guest bed. I was pissed at this moment and just took the new clothes, went to my bedroom and slept for a while. I’ve gotten used to it now, I can’t have candles in my guest room lit, the boy blows them out, the old lady always pull out a chair to look out the window and don’t like mess, she always move “the mess” to a pile that I half to sort out in draws and such. Can’t leave mugs and things on the counter next to the sink because in the middle of the night you wake-up with a bang since the old lady shove them down the sink, glass breaking and stuff. And the big heavy thing, it hangs out sometimes, often feel the heavy thing on my shoulders if I get upset, no matter where I am, I think it’s a very old ghost that doesn’t remember who it used to be, it led me to the oldest place of the cemetery ones, where the gravestone is just part of a Mountain and names is carved straight into the stone, I think it’s a man, and moss covered the name but it beginner with De, I call him Edd, easier to say. No one of these seems to mean harm and they just chill as long as I don’t do something to upset them. That’s my story of how I started to see spirits, sorry it was a long one, Random Girl .

I'm from the Midwest, and when I was young my grandmother and her son and his family lived on top of an Indian burial ground. My mother can recall countless stories from growing up there where paranormal stuff occurred. My cousins and I would regularly have sleepovers there. We would also regularly have occurrences. One time all of us fell asleep in our living room with the TV on a kids channel low, and were rudely awoken by every single TV in the entire house (seven in total) turning on, changing the channel to the static screen and turning up to full volume. On numerous occasions all the dishes were taken out of the cabinets and put on the counter tops. My cousins and I have see a man in a trench coat on a few occasions, and we've seen a little girl with long black hair in a white nightgown as well. Spooky things happened there all the time snd im sure happens to whoever lives there now.

My ghost story: I was in line at a grocery store checkout. I had just bought my deceased step-mother a bouquet of fresh flowers because it was her birthday. As I was waiting in line, I felt a tap on my left shoulder. I thought someone was trying to get my attention. When I looked behind me, no one was there. No one close to me. I instinctively knew it was my step-mother and I felt such a calm sensation. I felt so grateful for the experience.

This is a kind of old episode but it's weird Jenna doesn't buy the perception theory even a little because the human mind experiences the world only through perception and sensation and our perception is imperfect. It's possible ghosts and ghost experiences are the human mind experiencing something it can't comprehend and it pieces together things we're familiar with to try and cope. Or even not coping at all, maybe it's just our perception going hay wire to the point we have these wild stories of being possessed and stuff. Just a thought, but I thought it would be a cool way to work it into another theory.

I'm from England and grew up in a very old house. I not only felt but saw this lady sitting and she would also sit on my mums bed and she had the same experience she would tuck you in. The beds would also shake as though there was an earthquake but only the bed would move. Ive had my hair pulled and one night was lying trying to sleep and my mouth was open and I was flicked in the tooth hard enough for gums to bleed. My father passed away recently. When he was alive, he would walk around the house, the store, anywhere whistling the sax solo to Careless Whisper. A couple of days after he died, I was sitting in my sister's car while she was in the gas station shop buying slushies (A tradition we usually had with our dad.) I was listening to some music quietly when some weird, overwhelming feeling swept over me. I decided to say, out loud, "Dad, are you here?" Then, out of nowhere, my music shut off and Careless Whisper started playing at full volume. I shit you not.

Marissa Batey something similar happened to me and my family. My auntie passed away a couple of years ago and she used to smoke a lot! Whenever she was over at our house she would stand by our back doordoor on a little hallway off our kitchen smoking cirgarettes. Our kitchen and living room is one big open space. So a few days after her funeral me, my family, and a few of our close neighbours - all ppl who my aunt would of known very well - were sitting in our living room chatting and next thing we all saw a stream of cigarette smoke float in around the corner from the hallway.. If your familiar with cigarettes, you'll know the smoke that streams off from it when its still - its not really like smoke from a fire. I was closest to the hallway and got up to look around at where the smoke came from but obviously there was nothing there. It was so strange but nice at the same time. Everyone in the living room thought the same thing that it had to be my aunt. it was like a gentle way to show us that she was there with us.

My house was built over an old Native American burial ground and an old boy scout camp. Every 4 years on the dot something glass will mysteriously break. First one was our chandelier just fell phantom of the opera style. Second one was my parents shower door just exploded. Third one was the lights in front of our house shattered. Fourth one just recently happened because we were due. A glass vase on a shelf just flew off as if it had been thrown across the room. The first four years of my life I was in a different Home. I’m 20 now. It’s crazy. The ghost in the house plays around occasionally in other ways but most of the time leaves us alone except for the every 4 years thing. I wonder what that’s about.

ALSO, Ghost story... I used to see this lady when I was younger. She had long white hair and wore what I recall to be a long white gown. I never saw her face, she was basically a glowing white figure. She'd walk by my bedroom at night on occasion. The last time I had seen her we had just moved houses and I woke up one night because I thought someone was watching me. I looked over to the side of my bed and she was standing there holding a noose. I ducked under the covers absolutely petrified. My sister was sleeping next to me but I couldn't wake her up. Eventually I must have fallen asleep because that was the end of that. It turns out where we moved to our street was built on top of an old graveyard. I can't explain any of it but I absolutely swear that all of it is true!!This all happened when I was about 6-8 years old. Not too long ago (I'm 24 now) I was out at my cousins place and she loves using a Ouija board. I generally don't fuck with stuff like that but she convinced me to. any time I had my hand on the cursor(?idk if that is what its called haha) and ask if anyone was there it would spell out "white lady". I had never told the story about my experiences as a kid to her or any other family member so I know she wasn't rigging it. Had to quit the Ouija. Never doing it again. Aside from this I've had other experiences but this woman was always the most constant.

Ugh The last podcast episode I had to try so hard to hold back all my millennial knowledge that I have to say something this time: All the theories work. The main one (which surfaced in multiple theories) that you guys didn't buy was the residual ghost theory. The quantum theory one and the on-a-loop one. Let me explain MY thoughts and opinions on this based on research I've done. Imagine you buy an armchair made with cloth upholstery (not leather). Over the next 30 years, you sit in it, spill coffee on it, eat dinner in it, your dogs pee on it, a kid pukes on it, etc. Now we can equate this to pieces of the universe. The armchair has permanent "memories" on it, permanently affecting the way it looks, feels, and is. It's fabric is literally changed. So when a traumatic event (or even not so traumatic) happens in a room, on a bed, or in a place, the place absorbs the energy and then it is "stained". A door was shut so many times during the period of a family living there, that being slammed is permanently in its fabric and it will repeat upon itself, even if there is no entity there (this is where we have to stretch our imaginations a bit).
@vellamour8 жыл бұрын
Or a woman paced up and down the hall every night for 20 years (because her husband stayed out late all the time or something), and now the new residents can see her pace, but they cannot interact with her because her spirit is not truly there like in other ghostly instances because it is the HOUSE projecting the haunting, not the spirit. This can even happen with LIVING families such as mine (I even made a video about it). We've lived in my house with the same furniture for 20 years (and bought it brand new when I was 3) and sometimes, when I'm home alone, I can hear my mom's high heels click on the hardwood floors. Or suddenly our piano starts to play. No one in my family has died. No one died in the house, but our repeated energy has stained the energy of all the furniture and walls of the house that we are quite literally haunting it. I love ghosts and haunting and researching, and I suggest listening to the podcasts: Darkness Radio with Dave Shrader (sp?) and The Psychic Teachers with Deb and Samantha. Lots of info there. Also, *shameless plug* SUBSCRIBE because I have paranormal vlogs on my channel.

My grandma looked up and didn't see anyone up there, and asked me what the girl had looked like. I described the girl, and her description sounded exactly my grandma's daughter, Brandy (my aunt) who had passed away from a car accident long before I was born. I don't remember this experience, but my grandma and my mom both believe that i truly saw Brandy's spirit that day.

Two summers ago my dad bought an old house for us to renovate and then rent out. Its a small two bedroom house with a creepy ass basement and attic. After we finished renovating my boyfriend and I ended up moving into the house. One of the finishing steps of renovating the house was putting the basement door back which had been removed and laying on the kitchen floor before we bought it. We kept the original doors in the house because they're super old and antique looking. However they have the vintage looking door knobs that you need a skeleton key to open, and I'm assuming that the previous owner lost those keys because there were those simple latch locks that are just a ring and a stick basically that you can stick on any door, on the kitchen and bathroom doors so you could lock them. The latch on the basement door didn't work so i'm assuming that was why they added the crappy lock; so they could keep the door shut. So when we moved in we brought our dog and she willingly went into the house into every room and even up into the attic, but she refused to go into the basement (she still does, she whines when we go down there to do laundry). The first night we were there we heard movements while we were trying to sleep and my boyfriend just passed it off on our dog even though she was in the bed with us. The next day I was home alone and I heard a jingle sound and my dog was sitting on my lap so I knew it wasn't her. I left the bedroom to see what it was and the basement door was open. It had unlocked itself. So I locked it back, with that crappy stick in a hole lock and tried not to pee my self. Later I heard the same jingle so this time I ran to the basement and I saw the door opening. I told my boyfriend when he got home and he brushed it off at first. then a couple days later he was home and his sister was visiting and he heard the same jingle I had heard. They went to the basement and saw that it was open. They closed it and then sat in the kitchen and watched the door. He told me they sat there for about an hour when they saw the lock flick itself out of the hole and the door swung open. So now of course he believes me but we still have no explanation for it. It did this for a couple weeks before stopping altogether and it hasn't did it in at least a year now but it still gives me chills thinking about it. I also still feel uneasy when doing laundry in the basement, and my dog still whines while I'm down there. But none of us have ever been harmed so I guess the ghost likes the renovation! lol

Also, I have another theory on ghosts. Maybe they are souls in purgatory? I know that's a Catholic belief, and I'm not catholic so correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't purgatory when your soul is sent to walk the earth because you didn't make it into heaven but don't deserve to be dammed to hell? So they're just stuck and hanging out.

I just go to the part in the podcast about purgatory. lol Purgatory makes more sense to me than a lot of other theories.

When I was young I used to think that whenever I looked in the mirror I was seeing myself in an alternate universe or an alternate reality and we were both just meeting each other through this one "portal" or "window" into the other's reality... It trips me out to think that as a young child I had this feeling or this thought that I legit was socializing with my alternate self whenever I was looking in a mirror. Weird dude.

I thought the same thing as a young kid. There were some mirrors I was actually scared of, I felt like something or someone was going to come through the mirror. And now as an adult I've learned that mirrors and such can be portals, so my fears weren't all that irrational. But agreed, it's strange to realize I felt that sort of thing at such a young age.

I love your outlook on millennials and gen z because I know a lot of adults that are so salty about us, and how it was so much better when they were kids. Now excuse me but it may have been better when you were a kid because YOU WERE A KID. Everything is better when you are a child.

43:00 Mass hysteria is a thing. I'm not an expert on it or whatever but I know it exists. That could explain why so many people see those things and can describe them similarly. They hear the story, get psyched out, then go and look for themselves to see if its true and they actually see it. This doesn't explain everything, I myself actually believe in ghosts, but I do think this happens for some of these stories.

Ever since I could remember I’ve always had the feeling I’m being watched in my bedroom. I’m only ever scared of it when it’s too dark or when I watch spooky things before bed or something, other than that it’s just a thing to me. But one night I went through sleep paralysis, which is where you wake up but you aren’t fully awake so you can’t move, then after a bit of me still waking up a hand covered my mouth. I tried screaming but I couldn’t, I tried asking “who are you” and then I just snapped awake. It was a while ago and nothing happened since, so it’s gone back to just being a thing, but pretty recently I’ve been noticing I’ve been waking up with these tiny tiny bruises that are so bad they eventually turn yellow, and at one point the bruises were on my shin and I swear on my fucking house they looked like finger prints like someone grabbed my leg while I was sleeping. I have a picture of it if you want I can show you them, they never turned yellow but they looked just like finger prints. And then another night in the same month I don’t really remember when, I snapped awake from something scampering off of my bed, but because I just woke up I thought my hand ran off my body. But this doesn’t really count because just a bit after then we found out a rat what in my room, but it was a really cute rat so it’s chill. The other story I have, I didn’t see any ghost it is more of a feeling. My grandfather was an artist and all his artwork was in the attic of my grandmas house, that was his studio. I actually relate to him a lot, we’re both artists, we make and love music, we have a temper ect. But when he passed away from cancer I never got to say goodbye ( the hospital he was in didn’t allow children) okay now the ghost part starts. Whenever I go into his attic it’s like he’s there just hanging out, and it legit makes me not want to leave. The feeling or energy, whatever it is, is way to good to ever wanna leave

Update on the 1st story, I told all this to one of my favorite teachers I’ve ever had and she has a theory. She’s heavily Christian but still believes in reincarnation, she thinks in a past life I could have been murdered and that why I have this fear of being watched in my bedroom or like someone’s going to kill me in my home. I’ve also been told by some people to hire someone to look for hidden cameras, but my only problem with that is how do I know they won’t put hidden cameras in my room and try to peak at me changing. Gotta think outside the box

Another time, I was sitting at my desk with my bed behind me. (There was a mirror in front of me) I heard someone sneeze behind me, and I froze. I looked up at the mirror (to look at the bed behind me), because I physically could not move, and saw no one there. I ran out of the room, grabbed my cat and came back to the room. From that point on, Ive been feeling this ghostly presence in my room sometimes.

Turtle O'Brien pets can react to ghosts too so keep an eye on your cats behaviour and if your cat is acting weird about it too then that's definitely something in your house

Just close your eyes and imagine a door closing and say "I only want those who walk in Gods white light, only those who walk in Gods white light are allowed" imagine the door closing again and you walking into a room filled with 'Gods white light' and if you see or feel them, POLITELY tell them to leave and say you'd rather have them watching over you but not be present. Make sure to keep it quite, and polite so you don't anger them. You can also get some sage, and put it in a medal bowl and burn it (don't touch the bottom, I burned myself) them walk around your house, letting the sage smoke fill the air, saying "only those who walk in gods white light" and they should go away.
