CORRECTION: I misstated the specifications. This mic has an impedance of 600-ohms (not 400 ohms), and it has a frequency response of 30Hz - 15kHz (not 50hz - 16kHz). Sorry for this error.

@@charlessmyth I have used the 105 for many years. It is a fantastic sounding mic, with an especially smooth midrange. Note that by comparison to a B58, it is quite a bit less directional. On a loud stage it might not be usable for some purposes, such as live recording. Fortunately stage volumes have come way down with IEMs but it’s something to be aware of.

I actually really like this one. Has more top end clarity than a lot of these other mics (especially the SM58, which I wasn't expecting). However, having more treble doesn't make it fatiguing to listen to like some crazy clear condensers. Solid mic IMO.

The 105 is close to magic. Curiously, many singers don’t like it. For me it is the perfect starting point, responds to small EQ tweaks. It might not be the best choice on a screaming stage, re rejection.
@juicy_oranges55292 жыл бұрын
The MAD sounds really impressive for what it costs! Almost all the other microphones below in price, and also some above it - maybe except the Audio Technica - sounded like toys in comparison. Sadly it seems like you can't buy it in EU (or you get it only imported which raises the price by a mile), but this is the best "affordable" dynamic microphone I've ever heard. Edit: 8 months later I actually bought one cause I saw a really good offer, thanks Bandrew!

I'm watching a video from Japan. This video shows how great the V7 is. The 201-fet could compete with the U87Ai as a condenser microphone, but the dynamic microphone was disappointing. You don't need such a sensitive dynamic mic.

At the small club I work at I allways have to scoop out a lot of 500 hz so I think this mic would really shine. I've gotten the V7 and are really happy with it as it really helps getting the vocalist to push through. For every other aplication though I feel like the Beta58 would be a safer and better choice unless you wanna pay up for the neumann but I also really enjoied the sound of the beyerdynamics!

If you're often cutting those lower mids, I'd give EV's ND96 a hard look then, It has a voicing switch that helps cut some of those mid frequencies in that range, and has excellent noise rejection. It's become a goto of mine on vocal and even snare drums as well. And I did use it on a rack tom recently with good success.

T89 was surprisingly good The one mic I’d like to hear it compared to is the sure nexadyne 8/s. Just because they are both newer and claiming to be something you’d reach for instead of a 58. Maybe the telefunkten m80/81 too. Hearing the 3700 Neumann made me feel like I don’t understand quality. Definitely didn’t sound like $3500 better. Or even $500 better.
