Thanks so much for all these tips! I tried using this feature with a friend, but for some reason me (as a host) has worse sound quality than my interviewee (who just clicked on the link I sent). Do you have any idea why this is happening? The mic in my phone is in good condition too.

I also love that as I am now starting out I don't have to buy the expensive equipment in order to create a good podcast. I am currently using my android phone earphones with an inline mic and I have buzzsprout as my podcast platform. Im using Audacity as my editing program. I am super excited about this journey.

I decided to start my podcast on Anchor after watching your videos and it was too good to be true. I invited a guest to my episode and I recorded a full episode only to find later that the whole audio was overlapping and i had audio delays. Appreciate if you can share tips on that

Lara Ajouz ah, how frustrating. It definitely isn’t a perfect technology. Anchor recommends: both parties being connected to good WiFi, closing out of any other apps, and wearing headphones.

Thanks for this video! My friend and I were able to start a podcast with this information! However, I do have a question that you (or others) may be able to help with...unfortunately, Anchor does not have this option for recording on my *laptop* , and the microphone I bought specifically for podcasting on my laptop does not connect to my phone (it's a usb mic, and I have tried an adapter), so my audio is not as clear as my friend's audio (who has apple headphones). Do you know of any other good way/app that will allow me to record audio only, on my laptop with my friend and I? Or do you know of a quality, podcasting headset (with a mic), that could better my sound quality...something around $30 or less for a beginner? Thanks for any help!

You can do both. You can import any audio you have on your phone into your Anchor LIBRARY

Hi. I know. Anchor doesn't pay in countries outside the US right now. Even in the US though, you don't start making any money until you start getting over 1000 downloads per episode, which isn't very easy to do. If you can manage to get a few thousand downloads per episode, you would be able to monetize with pretty much any host. There are other ways to make money too. The host of the remote recording has to be using the APP on the phone. The guests can open the invite from their browser, but unfortunately, as of right now it doesn't seem you can set up a remote record from your browser on a desktop 😞

E. Jordan Mackie it would work, yes. BUT! In that case it would be better to just record on your phones separately using voice memos or another app - but then you’ll quickly find yourself using a computer to combine them together. The remote feature with anchor doesn’t produce the best quality sound. And with two phones in the same room you’d have all sorts of echo problems, so you’d at least want to be in different rooms.

YoChilll Jae Great questions. Anchor has many limitations. You can record remotely with anchor but only using smartphones. And the sound quality isn’t the greatest that way. However, Anchor is a good free hosting site. Since you have a computer you can easily use audio editing apps to get great sound and mix your episodes together and then upload your FULL episode to anchor as one file.

Thanks for the info someone advised me to possibly use zencastr to record then upload it onto Anchor but as I'm new to this I'm thinking of just using the anchor facility until I get the hang of that then branching out onto other software sources when I'm happy enough with the content. You have to send it from your phone and then the click the link from whoever you’re sending it to, I.e WhatsApp. Put your phone in another room that’s quiet to avoid echo and playback. 😉

When you login to your anchor, on the top you'll notice a button that says "NEW EPISODE" click that and you'll get all the options that you get on the APP. Record, messages, library, transitions.
