I’m 90% sure mk1 was planned to be injustice 3 but then cancelled and changed to be Mk. Look at the collabs for wave one, they’re all superhero’s that would be perfect for an injustice game, also look at the kameos which team ups make more sense for superhero’s than it does with mortal Kombat characters, even the invasions mode feels like something that would work better with Injustice

I imagine some of the problems would follow over. It would allow writing to kinda change and be allowed to try something different which might help though

Doesn’t Injustice appeal to a much wider audience?? Because they have DC heroes, super heroes in general, I felt was WAYYYY more appealing then just MK……not sure why they haven’t made one in like 8+ years!!

It appeals to a non-fighting game audience because of the DC characters. Plus, NRS was made to continue the story of MK, not make Injustice, so focusing on MK only makes sense.

Yes superheroes have the overall much wider audience but WB doesn’t care about that lol. Both Mortal Kombat X and Mortal Kombat 11 are on the top 10 all time fighting game list in terms of sales. WB knows people want another injustice but WB knows Mortal Kombat will bring them a bigger bag. Hence why we got Mortal Kombat 1 instead of Injustice 3 breaking the cycle of the release for these two franchises.

I mean mk 1 was ok but I felt that it was more Genz made for this generation of tends and this is why another mortal kombat released back to back. They should’ve just released Injustice 3 and then came back around with another mortal kombat..

It would be great timing if Injustice 3 was lining up with the new DC stuff coming out by James Gunn and others. I just hope 🙏🏾 they dont prioritize another MK game going against the fanbase. I did hear theres that next MK live action coming out soon but DC has more live actions slated than just 1 MK movie so it should take priority but knowing the old ahh higher ups, they'll do the unconventional for the worse

Could Imagine, that DC is waiting for the reboot. Injustice 2 was very much a Part of the Snyder DC World (just from the feeling). Maybe kick it off after a few new DC Movies. For the time between I would love a new game focussing on the DLC Horror/ Movie Characters. Lets fight Freddy against Ghostface, Alien against Predator again and maybe IT against Evil Dead. Theo already have now at least 10 interesting characters and could add some more like Pumpkinhead etc., I would love stages like Crystal lake, Delta City and the Cabin in the Woods.

Completely agree. I’m a lot more biased tbh coz I actually prefer injustice over mk, always have but I’m seeing the biggest injustice haters say they want injustice & biggest MK fans say they want injustice too. I think we are due for injustice 3 or tbch anything that’s actually new. I’d love anything that isn’t just inherently MK. I would love a MK vs DC 2!! All the DC guests we’ve been getting could lead to great crossover game. A marvel fighter or marvel vs dc would also be legendary, I’d just prefer something that isn’t MK because 2 games, 95% seemingly going to be 3 games in a row is too many imo. The fatigue is kicking in

That does not mean netherealm and WB cannot strike a deal to make injustice 3. WB rebooting their own games does not mean injustice 3 can't happen that will mostly depend if both studios can come to an agreement to make.it.

I mean, I'm just honest. There's thousands of games I love and you can see it every day on my channels so hopefully you're not talking about me. I think MK1 story is not great, I actually really liked the trilogy of 9,10,11 and think they can do much better.

A DC game isn’t happing anytime soon. That’s why we got MK1 to begin with. DC is doing a complete rebuild from the ground up they have a new CEO who said out of their mouths that their focus is solely on their movies and Animation, once everything feels cohesive enough for them then they’ll move to other property like video games & crossovers where they want the story to continue and feel cohesive. And they’re very serious about it. And this all makes sense as to why they wanted MK1 to last a while because this may take time before we actually get a DC game. And even when we do get this DC game it wont be inj3 simply because it wouldn’t fit with DCs current cohesive story.

Examples of this is Peacemaker who has a show on MAX he’s kinda the start of the branding of DC which is why he was 9/10 added to MK1 because he’s canning to all DC stories and even voice acted by the actual actor so that there’s no confusion about his character.

Injustice 3 won’t happen. David Zazlov has literally pointed WB Games’ future direction to focus solely on just 4 franchises only > Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Mortal Kombat and Batman (not DC, JUST Batman, specifically the they Arkham series) This isn’t a Netherrealm issue but a WB Games one now that they are consolidating their future plans considering they lost around $300m this year alone thanks to Suicide Squad and Multiversus.

I don't think we'll ever see Injustice again. It feels like it would be the perfect time to announce it with DC Comics really shifting it to another gear in terms of quality of what they're putting out and the DCU starting up. Just a gut feeling that franchise is shelved now.
