Man, I enjoy your reviews and appreciate the time and effort these videos take, but are we really gonna list a lack of integrated stabilizes as a negative? A dedicated v bar mount I’ll agree with, but stabilizer integration just seems like a stretch. If anything, at least a few manufacturers are offering a different stabilizer mount location, I have to think that has a greater functional difference than integration.

Be cool to see the "dynamic brace height " like pj showed ( on all your reviews) and explained the full draw stability from pse.
@jrhunt414Ай бұрын
He’d rather keep measuring an arbitrary reflex number. He is single handedly pushing the market in that direction over a spec that doesn’t actually matter. It’s all about limb flex, cams, and brace height. I have a Martin SlayR extreme and Martin Warthog that have more reflex than almost any other bow out there. Due to cam design and limb angle and flex, the “dynamic brace” is much larger than the short brace height of the bow. They resist torque much better than my V3 that actually shortens from the brace height. It’s all about the length of the moment arm the string is acting on resisting torque about the axis of the grip. Higher holding weight also helps. I don’t think we can expect an engineering/ static analysis from Josh. He knows a lot but not everything. In general he’s correct about the reflex thing but only because Reflex generally shortens brace height and without stabilizers the reflex design is unstable. We aren’t shooting bare bow and don’t need a perfectly balanced bare bow. We’re going to put front and rear high mod carbon bars on these things and make them balance however we want. Also I hope PSE stops calling this dynamic brace height. The concept doesn’t involve dynamics or anything dynamic. Just another static position to take a static measurement that affects statics. They gotta pick a different name or the whole concept is threatened by their name not being based in logic. I don’t even think PSE is willing to explain it fully because it would be leaking what they believe is their brain child but in reality it’s a concept most top archers that can draw a free body diagram already understand .

@jesseysmith7202 Josh has been measuring dynamic brace in the new points system, he does measure it, you must have missed it.
@jrhunt414Ай бұрын
@@saransmith8773 he measures the full draw load off point. A more appropriate measurement than ATA length. He just has to measure back to the grip and he has two important measurements. He can even use his yardstick and ruler made for measuring reflex. If he ever takes this measurement on a Mathews hunting bow it will blow his mind. Mathews has a lot of smooth speed which is great for treestand and ground blind hunting but it doesn’t follow any target fundamentals except the long riser which is pushing them into these crazy limb angles that gain them a little speed but sacrifice the fundamentals of forgiveness. A great archer may not even notice just shooting in a field with field points but put a broadhead on, bulky clothes, and change up the shooting positions and you’ll get left to right error everywhere.
@J0hnR4nd0mАй бұрын
Maybe I missed it, but you didn't mention the dynamic brace height, which should give you around an extra inch of brace height at full draw. I wonder whether or not that changes your scoring for forgiveness. PJ over at Lancaster Archery sings high praises on that particular feature and its effect of accuracy. I haven't shot the bow personally, so I wouldn't know for myself, though.

Tunability does have the yokes too since its a 3 piece string system. I know some people say don't touch them but they can certainly help with micro tuning. The shims will get you very close and if there is any minor movements left they "can" be done using the yokes by putting a twist or so into a yoke. I like larger bows in general so this might be an option for me. Thanks for the review.

This review seemed to be consistent with your others so far this year. I think some people expect higher scores just because it's a carbon bow?! It is the carbon version of the Evolve 33 from this last year. Very similar specs, the same integration and features, .8lbs lighter and $700+ more expensive. Carbon bows are purely just a preference in the industry and not a superior product. Not even close when you consider the price markups. If you prefer carbon and/or PSE; this is likely a more stable option than the Mach 30, it is an improvement on the previous gen (Levitate), and is still a good choice for a hunting setup.

My unrequested thoughts… PSE is the only manufacturer who doesn’t inflate their speed numbers. It can change draw, change let off, and change poundage without spending $40 for a set of mods.. AND it’s American made. That has to stand for something. The aluminum bows are right up to 1300+ dollars right now. It’s got Enough tune-ability that it lets the average archer adjust the bow without getting them in trouble…. I’ve seen the comments on the internet, the majority of the people out there do NOT need to be working on their bow without supervision 😂. Im sure all the Dudley lovers are jumping back to Hoyt this week but this is a good bow that they have put out this year… way better than the mach30

I’m also a pretty huge guy and shoot a powerful shot and bow arm so my bow mass I shoot is significantly higher than most other archers. The more mass I can get away from the riser the better. Many bows really need a lot of stabilizer just to shoot decent at all. Some are designed to balance with less stabilizer. It seems that lately bows have come to rely on stabilizers more as companies chase these low brace heights, past parallel limb designs, and fast smooth draw cycles. Definitely used to get away with lower moment of inertia setups with straight risers, 9” brace heights, 17”long limbs, and higher holding weights.
