more specifically omens need to drop much more. blasters currently have more divs than they can even spend because theres no div sink like in poe 1 with meta crafting, and the items they want to buy dont exist because no one can craft them. if omens were like triple the drop rate across the board that would probably alleviate the issue. they are supposed to be the stand in for meta crafting and yet you cant actually use them. so any ACTUAL good item you might want to buy is going to be SUPER expensive, theres no hand me downs or failed crafting attempts on the market either for higher end but more casual players, theres no profit crafters because theres no way to reliable craft anything anyways, and theres no relatively cheap but reliable way to get mid tier gear. im not the best crafter but i can log into poe 1 right now and 3-4 mod all of my stuff relatively easily without selling my kidneys to do it, and thats more than enough to do high end maps and engage with the majority of the content. they need to look at omens cause thats how you fix this im very certain of that.
@doombybbr14 сағат бұрын
nah, that solves nothing. The issue is not rare drops, enough rares are dropping for there to be good items to buy/sell. It is item rarity affecting currency/league drops and the fact that most people are sitting with ZERO league passives. These two things separate the people making hundreds of divs an hour from the average player sitting on a single div an hour(if that)

I am on the “causal” end of the player base and POE2 is, in it’s current state, VERY casual unfriendly. It is severely time punishing (ascendancies, respawned monsters on death, progress and content lost on death, etc). A casual will play this once, realize they have zero chance at even making a character with all 8 ascendancy points (or try and waste 20 hours) and realize they spent almost all league finding one Citadel, and failing and never being able to find another one. Casuals will obviously never keep up with someone playing 10x as much, but in most POE1 leagues, 10x the play feels like 10x return, in POE2 right now 10x the play feels like 1,000s of times more return. It is extremely catered to someone who has hours and hours a day to play. In Settlers league I was able to level a character to 100, craft all my own gear and defeat all uber bosses, and averaged less than 2 hours a day of game play. There is ZERO chance I would get even close to that in a POE2 league as is. Also, the game performance is BAD on lower end machines. A large portion of people do not have the computer specs to run this remotely close to how GGG envisions it. I get it, they want to make a visually stunning game, but a lot of people can’t run that and would still enjoy the game at a lower quality. They aren’t going to buy a new system just to play this game. GGG really needs to give people the ability to tone the GPU and CPU strain down if they truly want to appeal to as many people as possible.

Yeah man as a "casual" I'm finding it very discouraging about the ascendancy points. You can barely get 4 points which doesn't do shit for many of the classes. All of my theory crafting prior to the game coming out assumed getting the ascendancy points would be a guarantee.

I'm gonna push back on the graphics front. Firstly, it's early access, not full release. Optimization will be happening far into release. People still look at EA as full release and it's a folly. As far as people's machines on the low end. People are going to have to upgrade. That's all there is too it. If you have a system that can't run this well yet a ps5 or Xbox can, that's on the consumer. We can't make all games playable on hardware that is ten years old because some people can't afford it. Over a million people bought the game. 500k were on pc alone daily concurrent most of the day. Today 400k on PC. I know I sound like a dick, but it's just the truth. If you have an old system, either upgrade or buy a console, because poe2 is not even at the upper limits of graphics power right now.

Without crafting, endgame mechanics that center around awarding crafting materials simply won't work. That's what it feels like right now. Exalts and Divines don't even hold any real value outside of currency based on scarcity. At some point without any real way to utilize exalts/divines, the market will just crash anyway.
@NotQuartz21 сағат бұрын
@@TheWooly this isn’t really true for divines. The reason those went up in price is because people found uses for them, primarily on ingenuity
@williamreese782816 сағат бұрын
There are several uniques that are absolutely worth using divines on, hence why their price is skyrocketing compared to exalts. Exalts also have a use in crafting, but only in combination with Omens, which are giga-rare, and therefore no one except mirror-tier crafters is actually able to make anything with exalts. Hence the massive inflation that honestly won't end until we can spend exalts adding a mechanic to whatever map we go into (like in PoE1, so many issues are problems that PoE1 had and then fixed, that PoE2 decided to just make all over again). Judging by the current price of omens on the currency exchange, they should probably drop at least 10x as often as they do, if not closer to 20x.

They could change everything in this video and nothing in the economy would change except divines to exalt ratio skyrocketing even more. What they need to add is more currency sinks for ex. With a strong sink for exalts, people would not just price their mediocre items in divines, they would actually have to start pricing items in exalts. Slamming items and map mods isnt using enough exalts. T17 maps in poe 1, while divisive, are a HUGE chaos sink. And combined with a good divine sink in the bench with prefix and suffix cannot be changed, divines are kept in check too. Lastly there also need to be stronger non standard currency farming opportunities. There are no opportunities to make currency without getting raw currency drops. Long story short, poe 1 economy is a masterpiece and we are missing a lot of those vital aspects in the poe 2 economy resulting in the most mediocre items being "crafted" and sold for divines instead of exalts because exalts are literally worthless, making people list even more and more mediocre items for divines.

I have 2 changes I'd like to see for rarity: tuning and moving affixes around on gear to make damage prefixes way more important on non weapons slots. Tuning: I think the first 50 or 100 rarity is okay, but I'd argue that diminshing returns need to be turned up massively. Going from 100 to 200 should be as effective as going from 80 to 100. With 200 to 300 feeling like 90 to 100, and much above that doesn't do all that much. Having rarity makes gearing more interesting as it is really a more multiplier on the number of monsters killed. It also means gear has 3 main goals: damage, tank, damage efficiency. Damaging prefixes: Another fix I'd want to see is more competitive affixes against rarity. Maybe cast speed and attack speed go to prefixes for non weapons. Makes it harder for some builds, like MoM who just need the mana prefix on all gear and then 2 open to slot rarity into one of them.

That isn't even coming from some sort of communist writer. That's the official statement from the USA government and their own research. In the 1800s, it was well known that crashes occurred on average every 8-12yrs. If this madness continues to get worse and it certainly will, we will have economic crashes every 3-5yrs, while the rich profit off the misery of the working class at the bottom. the question i have, is why would video game developers, who are supposed to be some of the most imaginative people on the planet, introduce such a bad sytem in their game, when they had the freedom to imagine literally anything else in the world? I understand in real life, we all have the "choice" to live in market economies, but why do we also have to suffer in a virtual world? it doesn't make sense and it isn't very imaginative at all. inflation and price fixing is bad enough in the real world. only breach drops loot and whithout magic find you only get white and bluh crap + transmute/ agumentation orbs. even if for some reason a rare item drops its crap 999/ out of 1000 times. Tiered gear at least has better possible minimum rolls but the mod pool still is bloated. also they drop to scarce. As long the game is centered around trade the only way to get gear is to buy gear... ( lucky 1/1000 drops not included) and you cant buy gear if you cant find decent curreny ( without magic find). i ran t15+ maps for 3h today found like 2 decent rares and like 5 rares with tier 2+. Farming right now feels like wasted time ( without decent magic find). if poe 2 had some last epoch loot mecanics like the non trade fraction that boost loot and enables target farming i would stop playing trade and just doo my ssf stuff but the way loot is generated at the moment you cant find anything decent and the only way to progess is spam exalt and chaos orbs and pray.

That's not true? Most of the time the economy in PoE1 is fine through countless leagues for like 12 years. The economy can be different sometimes but it is about adapting when the game gives the options for it.

4:22 You say that this is a big part of poe 1's success. Agree or disagree, I'll say this; PoE 2 has almost zero dopamine hits. At its current state, it's almost unplayable. It's not fun, it's not rewarding, it cares not about your time. Anyone who disagrees with this statement is one of three things; A streamer//content creator - who's lively-hood is dependant on this success of the game Someone with stockholm syndrome - constantly engaged in these streams//watching videos and who's opinion is so amalgamated with their 'streamers' it's hard to tell where which begins. A masochist - I think this is the smallest group of them, but obviously there is a group of people who genuinely enjoy the 'end game" version of poe 2. I'd argue most of them have very few hours in diablo 2 or PoE 1 (the two greatest arpgs of all time) and that if they did they wouldn't fall into this camp at all. There are so many issues with this game that wealth disparity is near the bottom of the barrel of problems. This games predecessor has always had this problem, but streamers or anyone who played 12 hours a day could circumvent this problem in numerous ways, and therefor it was masked. People who play few hours a day, are in, almost the same position they are are every league. Except, that the game is fun. Builds are fun. The game isn't a chore to play. Over time you can amass a certain amount of currency, slowly but surely because the options are vast, and FUN. PoE 2 is more dopamine draining, that it is giving. They need to fix how the game functions, and a lot of them are bad game design choices. One portal, pseudo slow methodical combat, clunky 2h melee attacks, the gem system (which is a big problem of the leveling process) I'm not sure why they intended to ostracize so much of their original player base. I want to love this game so much. I've tried, and tried. but it's just not possible. The rich get richer, will always exist in any live game service with an economy, that will persist as long as their are 'professional' gamers. But if the game is FUN to play, engaging, fun to build around, etc. Then this problem is buried pretty nicely, and very rarely rears it's ugly head.

Yup, the game needs more reliable sources of currency farming. It can't just be "Kill rares & pray."

It's an early access BETA, don't give it that much attention, everything will reset at release and GGG will continue to nerf/improve/adapt to player experiences.
@Fishster18 сағат бұрын
True it is EA. The issue is that firstly it needs a coherent rethink it’s currently miles off. (Including an actual crafting system that players have agency over rather than a lottery). Then it’s going to need numerous iterations and adjustments to get it in a place that the game is rewarding for a broad range of players (casual to 14 hour a dayers) it also has to accommodate two essentially different games (when it comes to economy) SSF and trade. Still, they did say release might be up to a year away so they have some time.

0:35 I absolutely disagree with this sentiment to Early Access games. as far as I am concerned its the game release. the beta or full release are the v2.0 games. it's absolute nonsense and just marketing speech companies get away with. That aside, I think poe2 is really really cool. The only problem I have right now is that the build variety is boring af. Mercenary with glavanic shot pretty much is just a sorceress with a crossbow. There are nice mechanics, but so much is just lightning dmg, frost damage etc. just the spell is slightly different. melee sucks as always, I'll just wait for duelist to come out and hope there will be ANYTHING that plays with bleed.

TLDR: The creator of this video is displeased that he doesnt experience the same rewards as someone who invests way more into the same activity while he invests very little, yet expects to be rewarded to the same degree. You cant expect to play in a soccer premier league if you play soccer every 2nd weekend completely drunk with your friends. Poe has never been a casual friendly game and is known to be, why then do people knowing that go to pick up poe 2, complain about it and expect something different? Just go back to farming cringe helltides and infernal hordes, poe is not going to change into a casual cringe fest d4 raid finder no matter how much you complain about it. Accept the challenge and time investment or just leave, those are your choices.

> Guy doesn't have a stacked rarity build > Guy complains rarity stacking is too strong Counterthought.. rarity finder is too weak, why on earth should you need to sacrifice a huge amount of your build and survivability to obtain juicy dopamine shinies? Make rarity stronger perk, reduce how many sources it can be obtained on. My Sorc was a rarity finder at ~400%, I respec'd away back to a normal build because I wasn't able to comfortably complete other content that I otherwise would have been able to. I'm not the only one, 3rd party forums are awash of players/farmers doing similar.
