Sorcery ward is very strong imo. Im running cloak of flame (48% phys as fire corrupt) + sorcery ward + infernoclapse (6% max fire res). With the 5% phys taken as from tree, I take 53% of phys as fire . I also have heatproofing, so 25% of armour applies to fire dmg from hits as well. Through gear, tree and runes, I have 88% max fire res. I also still have +/-5250armor (iron reflexes) despite having no armor from my body piece and have +/- 2250 sorc ward. I was able to tank the floor 4 boss from the sanctum trail without issues with this setup. I have so much sorc ward that the boss didn't manage to break it and actually hit me (so no honor damage). For normal content, it also feels amazing and I barely ever die. My only weakspot right now is chaos damage, as I dont have good enough gear to get beyond 30% res atm. While you do need to invest into it, I think its worth it. The tree has very little damage on it anyway, so spending points to get the max resistances and some of the armour nodes isn't that big of a deal.

Awesome combo! I did figure that phys to ele would be the best way to get it to work in it's current state but I still think I stand by what I said in the video. In my opinion an ascendancy point should be able to function with a good amount of power on it's own and not be reliant on something to make it work or make it viable. But I love that you've got it working for you. Big props!

sorcery ward is very strong. evasion and armor do not scale linearly, and it will experience diminishing returns quite quickly. The portion you do lose is part of those diminished returns. So in reality, you don't actually lose 'half' your actual armor and evasion, even though you lose half the value. The armor and dodge percentages loses about 20-25% or so depending on how high it actually is. In turn, you gain a pretty chonky shield to cover you for the occasional mistake where you get hit by something big

​@@PlasmoX The way Flammable is using Socery Ward is definitely the way to use it. But on it's own it definitely is not worth it. You have to remember that even though there are diminishing returns with Armour the way it calculates damage reduction is based off how hard of a hit you receive, relative to how much armour you have. I would recommend reading how armor works on the POE Wiki. In anycase you always want more armour and even if it appears to be a 20% reduction it is more like you are taking double damage from phyiscal hits in some cases. With my build if I spec into Sorc Ward right now. Normal: 10.8k Armour Sorc Ward: 5.7k Armour

I run herald of ash. It's a nice substitute for the asendancy clear and procs 100% of the time off culling it feels. This allows me to run sorcery ward. I've got 51% armor res and 47%ish evasion and it feels pretty good. I grabbed both nodes that add extra Armour and evasion to your body Armour those help a ton. No evasion felt gross against physical projectiles

keep in mind that you dont take 50% more phys damage cuz how armour and evasion works in poe, if you have like 10k evasion with sorcery ward it gives around 60% evasion and without the sorcery ward its only oike 75% so you dont miss that much

As someone doing a very similar build, at lvl 91 I will say T18 map bosses with 8/10 atlas boss points are pretty fucking rough, I do 100k dps shockburst rounds with 75% shock and it barely tickles them, you would literally need a 750+ dps crossbow to feel remotely comfortable doing them.

Evasion + acrobatics is always gonna be better than armour unless you have other mechanics stemming from armour (x% damage/phys reduct/etc for every 100 armour).

Sorcery Ward can be worth it, if you invest the 4 points into it. But need specific set ups, and nodes in the passives + gear to make it work. I am sitting around a 5.5k shield for "free" . Also up to now you cannot Upgrade the skill which would make it alot better. So ye its ok to good for now.

i have the same build but with gemling and full evasion, easily clears sanctum floor 4 and ultimatum, being able to use 2 support gems is also really nice

You should look at the vid from "bigdaddy" and his tank prototype build feels really nice so far, sorc ward + Cloak of fire + heatproofing

Great vid quick question ? with how much you move to the ranger side in the skill tree wouldnt it be far better to go more into evasion and acrobatics ? also with leather bound gauntlets keystone wouldnt it be better to go pure armor for glove as to get more evasion from it ?

Maybe if I could start all over again I would try out full evasion! But alas I had already committed to iron reflexes. With leather bound gauntlets it is nearly identical if you go full armour vs evasion + armour in most cases. Certainly not enough of a difference to fuss too much about :)

It is a differance. One stat gloves Reach higher values. You easilly find gloves with 500-600 armor but it would be very hard to find gloves 250 armor and evasion each. I checked that

I want to learn to love storm caller arrow but goddam I find it so annoying how it bounces around, is there any way to have it target the exact enemy I want it to hit every time? Nvm realized it’s because I have additional chain with lightning skills dang, I wanna keep my chain though I like it

Pause on any piece of gear and continues to hover over them super fast where you have to be cat like reflexes on the pause button like dude I hover over one and sit for at least two seconds

I'm trying to run similar build but what i find is that's inconsistent with shotgun. half of the time it feels like shotgun doesn't do enough dmg, is there a way to make it proc lightning more often without switching to a bow ?

Running the conduction support gem will help with shock chance but Galvanic Shards isn't the best at dealing with single mobs even white mobs. If you don't mind grenades Voltaic grenade is very good at applying shock and electrocution.

The problem is more of endgame being so barren and unfinished that its just a copy of POE1 ported over, but stripped down to its bare bones version for almost everything Theres basically no bosses to fight ( that doesnt require a dozen hours of grinding if you don't just buy access through trade ). So people just end up blasting maps because thats all there is to it.

max res, Shock or Ailment magnitude, Attackspeed, Crossbow Attackspeed, Reload Speed, armour, evasion, attack damage, lightning damage, projectile damage, (dmg in general) Lightning pen and shock/ailment chance are also okay but more a 4th mod thing if you cannot get anything better

My guy saying you can clear the maps with 1 to 10 exalts investment in each item. Have you checked the prices on the crossbows? The kind of crossbow you have goes from 5 divines and up. Stop bulshiting people please

Sorry, I am genuinely trying to be truthful. I jumped onto POE trade and plugged in 70ilvl crossbows with +110% Increased Phys dmg and 20 avg flat phys are there are actually heaps of them for under 10 ex. I definitely didn't have multiple divines worth of currency at that point. I believe what I have is easily attainable for the average player.

@@Tmsx I'm sorrry :) I just lost my shit there. I've been trying since day one to make this class feel smooth by picking ideas from other people. Just manage to get a high pdps xbow and still can't make it feel smooth in t15. Also the defenses are a pain in the ass, for the moment I think going into full evasion feels the smoothest only con being the low hp.
