Polished scarab is probably "increased Experience from Ultimatum Monsters" gilded is probably +1 reward tier and winged is probably +2 reward tier. That's my interpretation from the patch note: "Each Scarab guarantees an Ultimatum encounter in an Area, with higher-tier Scarabs granting increased Experience from Ultimatum Monsters, or causing Ultimatum Encounters to grant additional rewards as though you completed additional rounds. Existing Metamorph Scarabs will be converted to Ultimatum Scarabs."

Its not as bad anymore. They also reduced the size of the monsters for the most part so they arent as colossal and I haven't encounted any Rares with the Invulnerability effect.

if i recall, "escalating damage taken" will pretty much instantly kill you if you're in a reflect map and you only have "reductions" to reflected damage taken. also they said that most 3-tier mods will now have a 4th tier. looking at what that implies is frightening... choking Miasma could very well be like having a Sirus storm in the arena with you.

Its Miasma 3 but its max speed and it slows you down in it. If you got CI or Cannot be slowed below base value, you are fine. Raging Fire 4 is the real shits.

At around 7:00 you say that we get to choose between 2 rewards. As far as i remember from ultimatum league it was always just 1 reward per round with no choices? Or have they changed that? Didn't notice them talking about changing the reward structure, except for the general rebalancing

You get to chose whether you stop and take the previous reward or you do another round and try to get the new/higher tier reward.

The case is that you get to keep all the previous rewards and you just choose if you want to cash out or if you want to risk it all for the next reward, which you don't get to choose, but is shown before the next round. Just thought it's important to point that out, so that the new players aren't confused when they start doing Ultimatum

At the timestamp it shows your previous reward and clicking take reward will end the encounter so it works just as it did in Ultimatum league I believe

It's not how math and PoE "more" multipliers work. The right numbers are 33.3% and 37.5% respectively. Anyway, it looks like a noob trap, because Ruin mechanic can easily ruin your run, especially when you stack it with Ruin from round mods.

The best thing about Ultimatus is the ost and the pause where you decide if you yolo for a good reward. It was my favorite mechanic because it was simple, shitloads of mobs and the feeling of risking a divine or something better was cool.

Ultimatum not dropping loot from the mobs is a huge bummer. I thought that was the reason they were nerfing the amount of rares that spawned to balance that, but no loot? I love ultimatum as a mechanic but I cant use it to juice maps anymore, that was part of the reason i was excited it adds a ton of mobs to your maps. I will probably still spec into it, it was my favorite league, but part of that fun was definitely nem 3 + Ultimatum mobs and huge loot explosions at the end of the ultimatum.

Inscribed ultimatums (used to) only update the tier of an unique by one tier. So a HH or Mageblood will require you to sacrifice a T1 unique. That's why ultimatum was one of the key mechanics of finding out about unique tiers.

I was planning to run a wardlooper ultimatum farmer, but now I noticed the "cooldowns take five times longer to recharge", "damage taken will slowly increase by 1% up to 50%" and "using a flask removes all other flask effects" I think that pretty much kills wardloop for ultimatum right? Especially since I was going to go for that node that makes you have 13 waves but no choice in your debuffs. I think the 50% dmg taken might be ok, and the flask one might be doable too if you just unequip everything but your olroth's flask, but that means you need to have capped res without a flask, which might be a bit hard with annihilating light+ no tattoos. But the cooldown one just bricks the build entirely. What would be a good build to play that would be able to do wave 13 random debuffs simulacrums?

I'm not sure if the 25% chance to duplicate rewards happens for each item separately. It might just be that when you say "take rewards" or when you finish the ultimatum the whole lootsplosion gets doubled in 25% of the cases.

I played Bladestorm back during Ultimatum, and after seeing the higher damage "random" storm trans version of Bladestorm, I think I'll bring it back lol. I found having a lingering damage source so I could strafe around the circle really useful and a safer way to play the mechanic.

You mentioned that the multiple rewards is a choice, do you have confirmation for that? I was under the impression it would just give a bonus reward on completing a round that you were not expecting. And this seems to be bourne out if you look at your screenshot - they are on wave 13 but have 16 rewards pending instead of the expected 12.

I didn't play during Ultimatum league, I hope the mechanic does a better job letting you learn it before it fucks you in the face like Sanctum does. I hate mechanics that have a steep learning curve but cause you to fail fast, makes it feel like if you didn't learn it during that league you shouldn't bother.

Some builds have it easier. Tanking builds get a lot of ruin, evasion builds quite a few less. Massive minion walls sometimes block the hits for you and so on. "Get hit" builds arent the best at ultimatum.

What I got from what he said is that gathering the Vaal Pieces (Atziris, delve, etc) to face the Trialmaster will no longer lead you to him (prob since his drops and all ultimatum stuff are changing). Instead it'll reward you with a unique jewel. It would be better if he had showed exactly that or something to clarify.

Tota would give well rolled 6links like half of the time a 6l showed up... which was pretty frequent. Tota rewards were pretty damn good, i think people were attributing the inflation all to sanctum but tota definitely added to it, i got over 200 raw divines and 2 mirrors out of tota... plus all the tats and abunch of other shit

am I high or are they not changing trialmaster? you'll still be doing 4 piece into trial map right? all the trialmaster gear is still in game in league just you dont get mechanic in normal maps which is what they're adding back. you make it sound like they deleted it and its gone, ofc barely anyone was running them but there was constantly 10-20 assembled trials on trade, I made decent profits from just flipping those buy 10 ofeach and resell for 40% markup.

One very important thing to add on (or clarify). From 23:14 onwards there is a line on your presentation saying "13 rounds guaranteed". However the keystone only says "encounter lasts 3 additional rounds". Is it 100% that you get to 10 rounds every ultimatum because in Ultimatum you averaged out at like 7-8 rounds and rarely got to 10 (which was guaranteed boss back then which it now isnt anymore). You said that throughout the video a couple times that you get 10 waves everytime now, but I haven't seen that piece of news. Can you update me on that?

I'm skeptical people will sell the ultimatiums, at least not in a way that can sustain a farming strategy. Not only will pricing them be painful (Find out what the rewards are first, before pricing them accordingly), we already have something similar. You can sell sanctum books that you can't do (due to bad debuffs), and they also give rewards, but no one sells those.

Selling and buying stuff with complex variables is always a pain in the ass. People hate it so much they go out of their way to create complex filtering so they can hide 99% of the things on trade. So it's not a surprise that those things just end up not on the market. It's hard to price it, it's hard to find it, and you aren't doing them in bulk at a click of a button. It ends up being "What did Grim say was worth money? Okay, so just those."

Stand your ground is actually really insane at high rounds. If you get 30% less radius, you actually get 51% less area. Lets say the radius is 10 units, the area is the 628 units, you then get 30% less radius, so the radius is now 7 units, the area is only 308. If you gets to wave 13, its 39% less radius so 6.1 units or only 234 area which is 63% less area

Reworked yomac is pretty good for bosses, I don't think you got what the item does, It allows you to cast any non-aura vaal skill at least 3 times with a okayish damage boosts(100% increased). It is 80% less cost but 100% increased to first cost uses 20% of the souls, second cast 40% and third cast 60% of the souls. It will help me a lot in my Chaos spell char since I will be able to use vaal blight 3 times in a roll against bosses instead of only 1. Other people might have better uses like with vaal arc or something and if you use 2 they don't stack like that. What gives those effects is a pseudo buff on the item called "Shepperd of souls" witch don't stack.
