I switched immidiately from Storm Burst at ca. level 60 after seein this. You are my hero! Finished the Acts with ball lighting, and it felt so much smoother even from gem level 1. Just fun. However, the clear of this transfigured gem is very bad, the delay feels also bad, so I switched to storm bust. Storm bust has arguably more dps and better clear than the transfigured version of divine ire and also got a buff this league. Can highly recommend.

BL is better for mobile bosses that move around a lot, since BL totems have DPS burst on first seconds after replacement, and SB have DPS ramp up instead. SB is still king for most bosses though

I have some questions regarding Decoy totem, Tatian. How necessary would you deem decoy totem given the existence of totem taunt charms and/something similar? In case we forego with the decoy totem, what would you recommend to fill in the skill gem there?

We still want to use Decoy Totems. Taunt from them lasts way longer than 2 seconds. And you don't want your main damaging totems to be killed by enemies - we need Decoy to take attention of mobs away from damaging totems, so that they could keep doing damage. But we still want to use this 2 second taunt from the Charm, because this taunt is applied way faster than Taunt from Decoy (decoy needs to cast the Taunt wave). So first we cast damaging totem - it taunts enemies away from our char and start damaging mobs, and then we summon Decoy, and it Taunts enemies away from our main totems (and our char too ofc)

With rings I usually either use Dex / Str essences, or Harvest reforge Chaos (for Chaos res) or reforge Lightning. I keep going until I get 3 good suffixes. Then craft suffixes cannot be changed. Use Veiled Chaos Orb. Bench-craft something to block useless veiled modifier (could be hybrid flat damage usually). And unveil Life or Mana

I wish the crafting options were more clear or better explained. I've played this game for so long and still know jack shit about crafting. I'm looking at craft of exile and it says 289C to craft a shield with life and +1, it would be 2700C if I wanted that plus a resistance. Surely theres a better way to craft?

First craft suffixes ( I use suffix essences usually ), then craft suffixes cannot be changed, then harvest reroll an influenced item with an influence mod - that guarantees +1 totem on prefix. Then either block and slam ex, or just bench craft life / mana

Hey Tatianel, I listened to the whole video, I hope I didn't miss anything. From what I understand during its 2sec duration the static ball will hit 13times and disappear. Does it mean we don't need to scale cast speed? Cast speed would basically just help totems cast their own 3 ball charges when summoned? But nothing more after these initial casts? Ascendancy: Conviction of Power = 4 min, 1 max. On tree: Disciple of the Forbidden = 1 min. Instability = 1 max. All that gives us permanent 5 power charages

One thing to add, RaizQT played the same build as you and he found out that the new spectre is pretty strong as aura bot for the build, hes currently running guardian turtle(5% phys reduction, 30% determination which is a little bit worse than the gem version), Spirit of Fortune(level 25 wrath and lucky lightning damage) and Blasphemer(curse ground that doesn't count toward your curse limit and smite aura). Is it possible to incorporate spectre into this build as well?

You can try it, but I find mine just die endlessly in T16 with even the slightest juice, and this is with the minion defensive nodes, Elemental Army, Minion Life, and Meat Shield. YMMV

Yes, it seems that these spectres work really well for Raiz, so it is possible to add them to this build I guess, but it adds this layer of minion "micro-management" - gotta make sure they don't die. So just give them a try and see if it works for you too, gl!

About to reach red map and something I notice with BLoS's targeting. It seems it will keep on shocking the monster which can still be hit even if it is dead already, like Beast about to be captured, or Legion's soldiers. Not sure if it is just me, but doing Legion with this skill is a bit, if not a lot, lackluster. ...but boy!, does it shred Harvest, Blight and Essence on maps. It works wonder in a tight packed area. Expedition and Heist seems to also vibe well with how the skills target things. If anyone can make it work for Legion, please feel free to correct me.

Less cooldown recovery rate maps are kinda annoying, since we play a cooldown skill. Other than that - monsters chans +X times can be rippy vs projectile mobs, since projectiles will chain from totems to us. And No regen - removes mana regen, so have to use mana flask - also annoying

Yes, it is viable, I started that on ssf personally. I recommend getting 20% quality on ball lightning gem first, for a little bit of extra cooldown recovery

I started playing poe on hardcore, and totem builds were really helpful for me to learn what's dangerous. We can always play carefully and place totems (and especially Decoy totems) far ahead of us, and see if totems die quickly or not. If they die - it's a signal for us that we gotta take care. And also most of the bosses in the game are trivialized by decoy totems - also helps learning what to dodge. So for me totem builds were perfect for hardcore

so since totems gain a fresh set of charges when summoned, why not ignore CDR altogether and instead focus on cast speed to deplete charges faster and simply resummon totems to reset charges? maybe makes the playstyle less passive but would be a lot more potential damage, no? and heirophant summons totems so quickly i wouldn't think it would be a big hindrance

To me it'll feel kinda bad - simply because it's not gonna be a "totem" build - when you spam your main ability every 1-2 seconds, feels more like self-cast build at this point. And I enjoy my 20seconds duration totems. But in theory damage-wise your approach should work well, yeah

What's the best way to farm the skill gem? Re-run normal lab or endgame? Any difference in chance to get between the labs? Will using BL as the base skill at the altar increase the chance of getting a SBL in return?

In Merciless and Uber lab there's a chance to get an option from final font "Sacrifice a gem and get a Trasfigured version of this gem", this option is pretty rare (~10% chance to get it), but it gives you 50% chance to get the right gem. So if you can run Merc lab really fast, it's better to go for Merc imo. But I was running Normal labs at the start of the league, and that was fine too. In normal lab it doesn't matter which gem you sacrifice - it just has to be a blue gem

Flame Wall still gives projectiles that travel through it extra damage. So Holy Flame Totems projectiles get extra damage from Flame Wall even with Ancestral Bond

I'm playing with your storm burst totem build right now, it's not bad at all, but freezing pulse totems with viridi's veil, self flagellation gem, soul Mantle, kikazaru and pandemonious has insane map clearing speed (+ ice spear for uber bossing), compared to storm burst. Can be storm burst totems as good as a freezing pulse / ice spear totem build? What is your opinion on this?

Wave of conviction won't apply exposure with Ancestral Bond keystone. So I'd use Hydrosphere for exposure instead, it will apply exposure, but only 10%. And maybe you should change the elemental mastery on passive tree, from 25% invert, to 18% exposure

Hi! Gz on the drop! For leveling uniques I would recommend to use together: Replica Prismweave, Berek's Pass, Replica Tasalio's Sign. That adds a lot of flat damage to spells, dmg will be way better

I'd say suffix essence spam (for example res essence) until cdr and suppression (easier to hit on pure evasion base), then suff cannot change, veiled chaos orb, bench block, unveil movement speed, bench block, slam life (could be multiple attempts), bench craft mana. Questions, what do you think of Raise Spectre Buff for this league? There are Raise Spectre that provides Vitality, Determination buff. Would it help in this build?

Yes, it seems that these spectres work really well for Raiz, so it is possible to add them to this build I guess, but it adds this layer of minion "micro-management" - gotta make sure they don't die. So just give them a try and see if it works for you too, gl!

Yes, it's good for that! I personally specced into essences and harvest, works great. It shouldn't really have issues with any mechanics

We don't need to refresh the totem. We play like with a normal Totem build - just place a totem and let it cast the balls

ive been playing normal divine ire totems on ssf and its been going pretty well. do you think this build without all of the cdr investment (hard to get on ssf) is still better than divine ire?

It's better than divine ire. Feels way smoother and damage potentially is better since you're scaling crit

I play it right now with no cdr gear still, and feels smooth yeah. Before switch to it, I would recommend to farm Lab for 20% quality on Ball Lightning of Static, since that gives 20% cdr, and is easy to get

Would it not be better dps to just invest in cast speed keep resummoning your totems? Each new totem has a fresh set of 3 casts before it hits cooldown.

To me it'll feel kinda bad - simply because it's not gonna be a "totem" build - when you spam your main ability every 1-2 seconds, feels more like self-cast build at this point. And I enjoy my 20seconds duration totems. But in theory damage-wise your approach should work well, yeah

i have kind of the same build, but i use soul mantle and instead of cruelty i use awakened added lightining dmg(gives +1 to gem level also)

@@Tatiantel2 I am on ps5 so league start was the other day. Started a storm burst cuz I enjoy the ply style. But at 70 I found it clunky. Controller doesn't make mines fun in my opinion so did the switch to static. I found a 17% quality gem that I got to ball static (took me a few hours.. ) but man. It's nuts compared.. so smooth and I was using wrong 4 link gems (literally switched burst for it forgetting no phys!) . Your ingenuity with totems is fantastic. Thanks for sharing

Damage and survivability is greater on Storm Burst. Ball Lightning clears maps faster.
