[PoE2] How to Make the Most out of Farming Citadels in the Atlas

A couple of good suggestions were made that weren't included in this video. 1) Evidently Map Boss Atlas points may not contribute to Crisis Fragment drop rate, so you can make the boss a lot easier than normal this way. 2) You can prep maps to have a lot of extra Waystone chance with triple distilled Envy (this adds delirium to the map though). More evidence coming in to suggest that sometimes 1200%+ Waystone chance still results in only 3 fragment drops, and that 600%+ Waystone can result in 2 fragment drops.

Too bad we can't guarantee by any means 4 pieces drop, i've tried many options like extra map mod towers, or towers and deli quantity of waystones, and still it always comes to random suffixes boost from atlas keystone. and even then I've had 3 pieces drop at 1200 quant

@@barongundone it says in the info tab in top left corner of atlas screen that waystone drop chance increases fragments from the citadels. its just percent based on waystone. Every ~400% = 1 extra fragment.

Gotten 2 frags with 800+ quant as well, most often 3 though. Good to know 4 is possible. Got 5 coppers to spawn near each other in a 2 day period after not seeing a single Citadel since the start of the game.

More data: I have run 10+ citadels with over 700% waystone chance and only one time gotten less than 3 fragments to drop. I also never run them with boss atlas points applied.

I didn't know waystone increased fragment drop being a thing. Ive been doing a bunch (10+) of citadels and always got 2 fragments to drop each time without noticing or putting any thought into setting up the atlas, maybe it was just a coincidence. This is very useful info to know!

To answer your last question, I've been running prefix only maps farming breaches in a big group and we've come to the conclusion that Unstable Energies will sometimes proc the non-existant suffixes, making no changes to the explicit modifiers (outside of the other atlas bonus of course), might be intended as otherwise people would only run prefix only maps and guarantee the Unstable Energies proc, making it way too easy to proc Remnants of Power + Unstable Energies in the same map.

Im running an Invoker monk with flicker for clear. Just wanted to say thanks for the videos highlighting different techs, you covered so much ground about crafting, power charges, heralds, damage scaling, defence and even a bit of profit/farming. I dont follow your build guide on maxroll. The info nuggets you have shared help me minmax what im working with and with the exception of a high evasion chest for spirit all my gear is crafted or self found, just found my first HoWA last night. And now am starting the transition to attribute stacking. (And fixing my mana situation) It has been such a blast! Much love! Curious how hard we will be getting nerfed next patch xD

As a quick tip, I don't think running these with T4 bosses is worth your time, you do not get anymore fragments than you would on a T1 version of the boss by running this and I have tested it. Got 4 fragments with only 1100% waystone drop rate on T1. Especially when running some of these really rippy maps with crazy modifiers it can be a bit sketchy. I generally unspec my points when doing one to speed things up and respec them for general maps. In my opinion the tier of the boss should matter but for whatever reason it has almost no effect on fragment quantity. It is more fun to run them at T4 but if you get one shot randomly or the boss gets crazy modifiers from the Atlas tree that adds modifiers to bosses (which I also unspec and has no effect), you will lose the citadel and multiple divines.

I just found my first 3 citadels today. I saw a bunch of videos with conspiracy theories about how to find it. Tested some of them: all failed. My strat was blindly going straight away from the base as far as could running t1 maps) and finally found 2 citadels close fro each other. It took me a whole day of grinding boring t1 maps, but I got it.

I can easily clean t15 maps, but when I put one with 600+ waystone it didn't hold up and died instantly. What happens if I use a t14 or 13 map with 600+ waystone? Is it the same? Or do I have to use a t15 even if it has 300+ waystone? What do you recommend?

Corrupting forces a waystone to sometimes go all suffix modifiers, like 6+ waystone chance modifiers. That's the big reason.

Hey snoo one question about consuming power charges with charged staff: I always thought the more power charges you have available before hitting charged staff, the more powerful it would be because you consume all of them when you activate. After hearing you comment on it recently, I started to wonder if our damage increases more after activating it (as we gain more), or is it better to consume the max amount in advance? Thx again...the build rips.

It's usually better to build them up slowly because you have the One with the Storm notable. It just adds to the timer and adds to the maximum. I don't worry too much about how I get there, but I want to have whatever the maximum is at the time.

This waystones I show with around 600%+ Waystone drop chance were mostly random corrupts I did as first I check for magic finding stats on them. They're bricked into nothing but suffix modifiers.

Yeah cause I was mistaken I put in a delirious map into a delirium encounter map, but it gets overwritten. So the map is just delirious with no mirror.

Mate, do you know what exactly does Delirium do to the mobs? For some reason, when in delirium, the mobs feel so much tougher, evasive, and higher ailment threshold (I could rarely shatter them with ice strike). Are you experiencing the same?

Well, they drop simulacrum splinters which are worth quite a bit over time. They presumably have %quantity and %rarity bonuses from it. They can stun players much easier than usual and knockback as well. You can't actually shatter (herald of ice) vs delirious monsters. Because they have no corpses. Herald of Thunder works though.

This is a term from D2 or PoE1. Magic Find either refers to specialized gear that forces additional drops (%increased rarity of items found) or it applies to maps, and to the strategy more broadly. Basically it means target-farming more raw loot drops than usual. In the current state of the game it basically means targeting Divine Orb drops.

The boss in the first stage was perma frozen so it didn't trigger the transition to the next stage for quite some time. Your damage was more than enough to phase the boss even while delirious.

idk what is your strategy on mapping, but me and my friends just choose a direction and went as far as possible from the start, when we first found a citatel there were always others nearby. I assume there is a minimum distance from the starting point that they can spawn, and after that they are everywhere

Citadel hunting is fully anti-synergestic with juicing mechanics setups on towers though. Since not only do you spend time on getting to towers but afterwards actually doing that juiced maps, as opposed to just rushing away from center to maximize citadel encounter rate.

The Citadel hunting makes the whole game kind of autistic bullsh*t...... I have more than 100 hours in the game, I'm lvl 92 at the moment and ZERO citadel. My gear complete... My trials and Ascendancy points complete.... I just run over and mapping like an idiot.... and no citadels at all. I enjoyed the game but when the citadels hunting is started... it just a frustrating sh*t. I don't want to put in this game 1000 hours to find the first citadel. I have to say after all this game is bad!

As much as you try to 'milk' this game the fact remains that this game is far from good, very dry, repetitive, 4 or 5 map layouts that waste you 5 mins for 2 exalts, boring, basicaly two good builds, uncontrolable end game, unbalanced market, crafting doesnt exist, full gamba that you can loose a month of farming in 2 clicks, the one death maping is the most stupid thing i have ever seen, 6 portals to relogin wait for loading and walk 2 mins to boss again hahahaha, omg fk this
