Small tip regarding Blink - if you hate Blink overwriting your dodgeroll like me, bind Blink to your 2nd weapon set. To switch to your 2nd set during any animation, equip a shield in the 2nd set, and use Shield Raise + Blink from your 1st set, because Shield Raise cancels other animations. Another upside is that you can use Crest of Ardura shield, which will also grant you 50% cooldown recovery, making Blink's cooldown much shorter.

Man am I glad you made this comment. Of course we still can't switch to our second weapons set during a Dodge roll unfortunately, but not only that, you also cannot buffer switching to the second weapon set either with the dedicated swap button (x by default). HOWEVER With the method you mentioned, you can simply hold raise shield and as soon as you are allowed to take an action again you will blink if you spam roll. It's a great bit of information you've just given

@@Rain1 Yeah, some animations lock you even from pulling out the shield during them, like the roll you mentioned. But for example when you are attacking (tried with Ice Strikes), you can't normally switch weapons mid-swing, but you can do so with Raise Shield, making it much safer to go on the offensive. A good reminder for anyone scaling evasion is that you can get blind on hit quite easily on jewels as its not usually valued much in trade, so if you get a couple of these on jewels with other good stats you can get 10-14% blind on hit and most evasion builds are hitting fast enough to pretty safely blind enemies with this, especially on bosses.

i'm not sure if the cast on crit invoker ability is actually any good just because of pure mana cost, but i've been running blind support on it to get 100% blind chance on crit

Blind on hit and Blind Effect have been awesome, I'm not touching ES because I don't want to get comfy while it's overtuned, just been pure life. Wind Dancer with Blind / Maim support and a touch of blind on hit got me to level 90 with only 2.5k life.

Hi Pohx. You can actually have blink for free (kind of). Make an offhand setup and set blink to be active with the offhand set and turn off other spirits. I done this so that i could use cast on freeze while attacking (in place of blink) and also be able dodge roll. I feel dodge rolling is better for when engaging bosses as it doesnt displace me so far and then if i need to blink i just tap raise shield (i have Crest of Ardura for 50% inc cooldown on my blink) and then blink away. Additionally ive taken as many movement speed nodes and slow debuff nodes for the offhand passive-tree-set up so that i can have a 1.5s blink and move around maps quickly to find the rares and also so temp chains has no effect. Also works for Sekhema final boss (the clock phase) and can choose to dodge roll or blink at will

Pohx, last video you started off with that insta death. I swear our bell has weird effects. I don't do any fire damage, rings or gear or anything! But if I fight a mob with fire sometimes I see my bell on fire. Like aoe from any sort is proc'ing the bell when it should not. Anyone else see this?

isnt it kinda counteractive to take the phys mitigation node as an ES character with a lot of evasion and ghost dance , evasion and ghost dance is already amazing at surviving a lot of smaller hits so why spend ascendancy points and gut your evasion rating just to have a little bit of armor that does pretty much the same thing

Because "small" hits are not that small sometimes, and you will be hit sooner or later. And then it's armour's job to not get your face blown away.

​@@Emilgod you eventually got hit even with high eva, thats how the system works. The physical dmg reduction from tree allows you to add another layers of defense, no it doesnt gut your eva, i have like below 90% eva pre-passive and still have 78% after using the passive. Its simply is opportunity cost rather than a must, you got tons of phys dmg reduce for a little bit of eva, its worth it imo.

How do you solve the Stun threshold of having 1 HP? I heard that if you have 1 HP you get stun by literally everything. Also you get frozen by everything as well. Is it true?

How do you deal with stun and freeze since your life is just 1 because of Chaos innoculation so you are more easily stunned and frozen as i undestand? Is your freeze charm enough for most freeze effects? How about stun?

It only drains when you're standing in or near the outter ring. If you stand inside the circle then it wont mana drain.

I love being a Warrior will all my armor, and life regen on the tree and hp built into my main stat and getting absolutely bodied. Meanwhile Monks, Sorcs, minion builds and Rangers can survive whatever due to ES and Evasion stacking. I know nerfs are coming, but I really hope they buff Str users a bit.

1 always buy heavy belt base for %stun treshold, can also add flat stun treshold on top of item cause People generally dont value it 2. Ruby red jewels buy for rage also rolls %stun treshold. Its super cheap no1 cares 2. Sapphire jools blue ones, all can roll %stun treshold base on %es 3. Sapphire jools blue ones also can roll %freeze treshold on top These 3 things even without charm ofc having good evasion helps, Will let you skip every freeze and stun nodes and such. You can always look flat stun treshold on some gear pieces while shopping Finally early char progression, High Alert annoint is super cheap and helps tons Hope these help 🎉

What's the total ES gonna be if one is going to be a pure Evasion build instead of Eva+ES?

don’t know how good that would be. assuming you have enough evasion that ghost dance will basically restore your full ES, I guess it wouldn’t be that bad? the only problem is big hits might chunk some life as well if it blows thru your ES, since ghost dance technically doesn’t nullify damage, but recovers ES the frame after you get hit. I just think you’d might as well spec to some EV/ES clusters since only getting raw ES from gear might be tough

@sneakrrr how does one use the full EV body armour and take advantage of Acrobatics? I presumed they'd still have some ES, hence my previous question. Haven't really seen any guide about, just this one with EV+ES (and he explained it well). Am curious which defense layer build would be superior between the one explained and having full EV body armor with Acrobatics (and other layers I am not aware that will go with this (full EV gloves, boots, and helmet?))

@ the main problem is pure EV does not help when a hit eventually lands (except when you have protect me from harm). because of how evasion works, 80% evasion doesn’t mean 80% chance to evade, it makes 4 hits evaded and the 5th hit land. Acrobatics solves a different problem. it just makes it so you can evade slams and unblockable attacks. there’s still the problem of when a hit lands. As of right now there’s not much defense layers as of right now. ES is just the most consistent since life stacking is really tough with barely any life nodes in the passive tree

Rocking with 2.400 es. Ssf Made fun up until t5 maps. Now it's just frustrating. I never found even one good item and now after every death I think to myself why I am even bother to still play. I loot every white , magic and rar staff, every magic helm/chest, 3t1 everything and run with 60-100 item rarity and the dream of finding or crafting a good item in PoE2 is just beyond impossible 😢😅

life+ 2400 ES? or just 2400 es? because with grim feast it should be okayish but at 2400 i wouldnt go CI i'm currently farming T15s in ssf with icestrike monk and having no issue , just started it a few days ago too since i got the game late due to my new pc being shipped late looting too much gimps your grind you want to loot expert quarterstaves only and transmute then drop if it doesnt hit something good use gold to gamble your worst gear piece dont loot rares on non-expert bases except for staves ( a well rolled advanced ele staff can hold its own till red maps)

The huge downside of CI is you get frozen and chilled from literally anything and everything, and your stun treshhold is 0. You can solve this to some extent with spending quite a few points on the tree. I still feel hybrid is strongest if you can cap your chaos res.

You got charms for that besides it doesnt matter if you blow up whole screens before anything hits you. Im 93 on that monk and never had problem with that

I agree but with the crafting...I mean gambling systems, I can't even come close to cap. Trade isn't available on console because they didn't bother to just transfer over the previous system of in game trading. Console is solo self found right now and unless RNG blesses you, getting over capped ele rea is awesome. Doing it without gimping your build rare but possible. Trying to get chaos res, ele rea, life and whatever your build needs on gear on console isn't possible.

Immunity to Chaos allows to take more important things on gear (increased rarity for example). I take 3 to 5 points for %Energy Threshold or Icebreaker for that if the build even needs it.

Bleed is not a chaos dmg, but it only happens if you take dmg on life. Essentially CI is bleed immune as you only have 1 life anyway, and you spent everything on EVA/ES instead. It doesnt make it worse

It does technically make it worse. The only difference CI makes as far as bleed is concerned is that it lowers your total health pool (hp+es) I’m not saying it’s a big deal, but it is technically worse. If all the damage in the game was bleed, you wouldn’t take CI for free, in fact you’d probably pay to get rid of it.

@@willisverynice I mean yeah. But the thing is, the upside of getting immune to chaos is very huge compared to "worse" defense to bleed. Life is really hard to get and scale while ES is very easy, with CI you ignore 2 important stats which is life and chaos resist, making you build easier, while minmax-able for endgame. I rather have like 8k ES and immune to chaos while allocating other stats, than 7k ES and 1.5k Life without CI. And bleed is not as common as chaos currently

Very interesting video but also not very relatable. Your chest piece gives more stat than the entirety of my Monk's gear, you have double the ascendancy points I have and so on. I'll still give chaos inoculation a shot I was too scared to try it out but I might benefit from it. Hopefully the game gets balanced one day so we are not forced into ES at all cost.

The Proctect me from harm issnt worth it. Lots of channels tried and tested it. Monk feels nice even if not the biggest DPS guy out there....its just fun. The CI though.....you need to have good gear (jewels) to actually run it.

Anyone else feel like defenses in this game are broken? Like Energy Shield is the only thing that seems to be even remotely decent. Elemental resistances make 0 difference, Armour is completely broken, and Evasion feels useless when the mobs hit you legit every time even woth it super stacked.

Energy shield is completely busted compared to life, evasion is pretty good but it needs to be paired with other defense or it'll feel bad, and armour just seems bad. I'm doing a build on Witch Hunter, and sorcery ward gives you 50% less armour and evasion, my evasion is still working great but my armour is completely gutted despite fairly equal investment because of how weak armour is in this game, phys damage completely destroys me. To make matters worse, im also using doryanis prototype which makes you mitigate lightning damage with armour instead of lightning res, that should be extremely scary cause now lighting damage becomes as scuffed as phys, but thankfully sorcery ward still negates lighting damage. I will still occasionally just get completely obliterated through 2.5k life and 3.8k sorcery ward from some of the bigger lightning hits though cause armour is bad.
